It was quite snowy in Brixham in 1963 as I remember - my first winter in the UK. Lived on Wall Park road for a spell. Tobogganing down Cudhill was quite bold I reckon. Haven't been back there in 30 years.
Well, the drinking water was probably OK but swimming in St Mary's bay when the Sharkham point outfall was in operation could be "interesting" - no so much a question of what but who's. The outfall is still there, I understand, so perhaps not much has changed in that regard.
