using a chain puts a lot of strain on stuff really quickly and it jerks everything so using a stretchy strap is a lot nicer because you can get a running start and it's like a rubber band.
When the heck was this filmed?? I love your dog, she is precious. always wanting to play when she is outside. Hollow tube hitch is garbage, you need to make a soild one. Awesome that you can borrow a piece of equiptment when you want to push all that snow where ever you want. The bad thing about living in a single wide trailer is like living in a paper bag. My younger brother lives in one and the bloody thing is always too cold in the winter. sigh. Didn't you mention that you were thinking of moving down and closer to where Andrew was??
One thing I notice about you is that you never seem to get down. You joke at problems that come up. And really seem to roll with the punches. Wish I could deal with the cold and the problems that always come up as good as you do. Nice ball hitch too. I should change mine also,, but I bet they're all made in China anyways. Take care.
Usually it’s the main line coming through the slab from the well pump or street that freezes first, I usually take some 2x4’s plywood and insulation build a box around mainline and keep a heat lamp on it all winter long, I’m in northern NY so I know exactly what your going through all to well!
Yeah I have - I've been here almost 10 years. I usually run heat tape under there but the mice chewed it all up so I didn't turn it on this year when it got cold. I'm hoping to get a slab some day.
My reddy heater got sone diesel in it one day when I was out of kerosene, but still needed to work. It took me a few days to get it running right again. Our waterline froze years back, and we ended up having to have a new well drilled. It was well over a month before the waterline to the original supply thawed out.
Shouldn’t you cover the filter and lag all the exposed pipes to stop the same thing happening again, wow, it seems like every day life is such a battle in the colder seasons so wouldn’t you be better off taking advantage in the warmer times to do things to prevent these things happening over and over! I live in Australia, so I can’t imagine what it’s like to go through those temperatures, but I think I would be trying to (make hay while the sun shines) so to speak!👍
