Rick I'm subscribed to your channel too. 10° in Chicago right now is hoodie and shorts weather. Over the weekend my neighbor was shoveling his driveway in a hoodie and shorts. I think it was maybe 5 or 6° here in Chicago.
Yep, Adam the Woo will show the best and the worst of travel adventuring. There must be balance. It’s good for the viewers to know the truth about this season, the past week or so has been unusually FREEZING. It’s not always pretty, but it’s real.
@@ShelleeGraham well said. It's very interesting to see his reaction to the weather. It's real and it's brutal. No warm, Disney bubble. He'll be there soon enough. This is a good experience. I can't wait to see what he says tomorrow.
@@ShelleeGraham Yes, enjoying what he does. Do you know how much less of a stressful life one lives when their primary occupation is something they love so very much? No need to defend him, I was not attacking him. I love the guy and appreciate him. I was simply saying, he's not out there on a missionary deal sacrificing his life.
YES! That would be awesome! Thank you for everything you do to get supplies to everyone! Do many people ever have you honk your horn anymore? I remember doing that as a kid! Lol
I love these videos when you are just driving through small towns and finding interesting nooks and crannies of the USA. Keep up the great work! Drive safe!
So many of those small towns across the USA. The young leave for the lights of the big cities, and not many homes that once were warm with families. Farms are gone or or have been bought up by larger farms. Not much room for the family farm anymore.
Coming from New Hampshire the only thing that frightens me about a snow/ice storm in the south is the lack of any public preparedness for it (and mental awareness of how to drive in it).
I was thinking the same thing. I have snow tires and ‘driving in snow 101’ when I learned to drive. Of course we have winter for half the year. Lol, not lol😢. ❤️ from 🇨🇦
There was another bad accident in Oklahoma on I44 last night that was as awful as the one you passed in Texas. My son is a cross country truck driver and was taking a load to a place in Oklahoma, when he came upon a bad wreck just one to two minutes after it happened. He said two semi's that had passed him a few hours earlier were involved. Two semi's were on fire. A car was trapped under one of the burning semi's. My son saw a trucker trying to kick the window of the car in so he could get the man out of the car, but the window wouldn't break. My son jumped out of his truck and ran over to help and before he got to the car the trucker just used his fist and punched the car window breaking it. He dragged the man out, who was in shock but ok. The trucker did end up tearing his hand up and got stitches. Some people including truckers were helping everyone they could, but others, instead of helping just stood and filmed with thier phones. How can they do that, Adam? I don't understand. When everyone was safe and the fires put out they all did end up waiting 6 hours until one lane was cleared. He called me about a half an hour before they were able to move, and needless to say I stayed on the phone with him for 3 hours (he uses Bluetooth, so he was handsfree) until he found a truckstop for the night. After hanging up, I cried! I was so scared for my son and for all the people involved in that accident. He said there were 3 semi's and possibly 4 or 5 cars. Watching you driving through that nasty weather scared me and I was so glad you were safe! Please continue to stay safe, Adam! This storm is really bad. I'm here in Tennessee and we got the freezing rain last night and the snow will start soon. If you've read this to here, thank you! Stay safe, and please stop scaring me. I've got too many gray hairs as it is! Lol Much love, always!
@@mastercleanseNOTdiet Thank you so much! Your prayers are greatly appreciated. Everyone needs those prayers. My son has been staying safe so far (now he's working his way through Texas to get to California), because of your prayers. Many prayers for you too going up. ❤❤❤
One time when I was a teenager my friend fell asleep while driving us home. I woke up when the car started to go in the median and flip 8 times. Passed out when I woke up the car was making a weird noise and the hood was on fire. I ended up getting thought my window and my friend that was driving passed out on the steering wheel. I pulled her almost all the way out but couldn’t get her. Unstuck. My other friend was trying to flag down people to help but they just would look and drive off!!! She ended up jumping in front of the car to stop. People are so disgusting. I run to people that need help others panic of don’t want to be involved. God bless your son and the man that got hurt,
Years ago my muffler system came off and me and my gf pulled over in the snow off the side of the freeway. We thought about what we should do, a man comes up with a wire and says give me 2 minutes, he was under our car in slush and water. And fixed it. I said let me pay you, he said no its ok. We both felt bad for him.
I agree Adam weather like that is beautiful and the scenery is amazing, but as that accident shows it's also lethal, take care on those roads, and maybe buy a nice warm coat to put in the boot thank you enjoying your journey xxx
I love your theme park videos but these videos...on the open road are my favorite. I've always wanted to just get in the car and drive...stopping at, well, wherever. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures. Safe travels Adam. Please be safe. Texas roads have been really bad.
Every time you pull off the freeway into one of these old, mostly abandoned towns, all I can think of is "Cars" and the James Taylor song "Our Town." So sad!! But I do love them, so full of history and reminders of days gone by. I have a friend in Houston, he says they're covered in ice today. Be safe on your journey!
Dude please buy a winter coat. You may never need it living in Florida but it is definitely good to have when you need it. Oh yeah buy some gloves and a hat too. If you get stuck, hoodies aren't going to do it.
seriously !! handcraft some from socks or cheap blankets from any 7 eleven on the road or something somewhere.. cover up! body uses all energy to warm the brain, and puts your immune system 2nd place...
Didn't think I would click on ur vlog and be watching an episode of ICE ROAD TRUCKERS, but here we are! Please bundle up, keep ur hands and head warm!! Praying you make it thru that mess safely!🙏🙏🙏
OK Adam - this was scary. I hope you are taking it easy today. Such crazy weather. And I hope you were able to get your car door open and the car started this morning!!! I loved your line about the ice plows are doing the Lord's work - Amen to that!!!!
Thank you for Highlighting El Paso! My High School and work was less than a mile from Mexico! You drove through a dangerous Icy Stretch! I was sent home from my Part time employment @ TDS ON Sunday because of not the snow ⛄️ but they ice 🧊 roads! And today Monday we have virtual school from home! BE SAFE!
@@robin5380 apparently cannot escape winter this year. I am in Eastern Canada and we are suppose to be getting a nasty storm throughout tomorrow. To be fair though we have had it pretty good this year compared to others.
@@jenn527 take care, our states can learn from you’all on strengthening our electrical energy. Hope our southern states don’t get this again, but if it can happen once.
@@robin5380 don't believe the windmill lies in some of your media. We have windmills here, and our winters can be terrible. We have not had issues with them freezing and causing power outages. That usually happens because the wooden poles & lines can't handle the weight of the ice and/or high winds cause them to break. Take care 🙂!
LOL at "oooohh do not be confused, I have a plethora of proof here" lol... your confidence is well deserved, and after watching this vid its safe to say your rep remains intact, lol 👍. I'm blown away that a fire hydrant is the fixed point to keep the surroundings in perspective after all these years, and that the window on the balcony looks pretty much the same, amazing. Appreciate the Speedway filming tidbit about the first time ever that the drive scene was real and no fake backdrop. Great filming location vid as always, and all that fog actually added an eerieness to your vid👍
Made me a little homesick when you were driving through Arizona. I now live in Virginia, and when I tell people here that it gets cold in the desert they laugh. I actually took Interstate 10 East from Tucson to Richmond, VA, only in the summer. Stay Warm Adam, and check the antifreeze in your car.
@@MrRyanKaminski I used to live in South Carolina. My first year there, I was in 8th grade, it started to snow. All the kids ran to the window to look and they called off school for about ten days. It took our bus driver 3 hours to make a 30 minute trip. I can't tell you how many cars were off the road and in ditches. Coming from Michigan I didn't understand yet that Southern states don't have salt trucks and plows. It was a mess.
Have family in central Texas and am getting reports multiple times a day... it's pretty bad there. Lots of ice on the ground with about 5-6 inches of snow on top of it (dry snow though) and expected to be awful on Wednesday and not getting above freezing until late in the week. Rolling blackouts to help out the power grid too. Stay safe on the roads. ETA: Also seeing TXDOT camera footage of San Antonio. I-10 is 100% covered with snow. Seriously... wait it out a few days if you can.
Stay safe Adam!! Definitely not worth risking your life. We want you to be around a while. Dress in more layers too. Accidents happen and you need to be more prepared. I live in Minnesota and it is freezing here right now. We will keep watching and praying for a safe journey back to Florida. ❄️🥶🌞🌴🚙
Welcome to Texas! Lol we are just as shocked! Lol 6 in Dallas right now. Waving as you go through! Stay safe! Good to see big the foot is going East with you!
I'm enjoying this long drives and sleepy / ghost town exploration of Adam. It's those places that is good to see just once in your life. Something I myself wouldn't be willing to waste my day off and gas going but rather relies on other people's lenses.
@@tobybeasley2079 It can be. After awhile it can get pretty ugly too. Melts and gets all dirty with the plows and the slush when it starts to melt. It should start melting next week.
Be safe in your travels there Adam. It's crazy weather EVERYWHERE! The roads can be a dangerous place in this kind of weather. Last week there was a 100 car pile up in Texas... smh so scary. Please drive safe & be careful, idk what we would do without our Adam vids.😊💝
Roads are icy and dangerous throughout Texas. Temps to stay below freezing until Friday. The whole state of TX under severe winter storm warning. Interstate closures everywhere.
You sure are taking chances all the time, Adam. Luckily you can do this trip leisurely and stop when you need to. My aunt lives in TX and saw many people saying no power OR water. It just amazes me how states aren’t prepared for these just in case situations. Hope everyone was ok in that huge crazy accident you drove by. Just glad it’s over now. Be safe. Keep on being you! ❤️❄️❄️
So I am assuming they sell that stuff at Wal-Mart in the colder states here in California they are done selling coats and are starting to sell warmer weather clothes.
Well maybe I'm weird but I love watching videos of weather like thunderstorms and then I listen to music I like like delta parole or metallica! Nothing better and more relaxing like that!
HAVE SAFE Travels! In Ohio we can get up to 9 inches on already of 10 inches. So be careful and take your time if gets really bad. Stay at an hotel for a day or to not risking an accident or your life!! Prayers for you to stay safe!!🙏❤
As a Canadian...seeing the snow plow for that little bit of snow was interesting....it's -38C here right now....but ice is bad any way you look at it. Stay safe. 😨
Adam, gotta say, I've traveled this road so many times; never like this. The birds you saw by Willcox were Sand Hill Cranes, heading for the playa there; the crow is a raven....El Paso & Mexico; an example of the bond our borderlands have with Mexico, including their beauty and culture....not demonized as some blab on about.....this is so surprising and beautiful; stay safe vlogger friend
It's crazy how nuts the weather got in Texas. We are used to it in NJ but it's never anything I like like to drive in. I'm the annoying jerk that goes way under the limit when it looks like that.Stay safe out there!
MN here. -40 this morning. What the ppl lack down south are snow tires. Shout out to the snow plow drivers! Hard job and very thankful for those men and women. Stay safe everyone and prayers for those who need them.
Adam has the best amazing car guardian angels... several years + thousands of miles and even in the most dangerous weather he still dodges the danger 🙀
I congratulate you on your determination. For a fair weather guy, you did okay! We're very happy that you weren't involved in the melee that resulted in that huge pile up. God's speed to you John Glenn....
Kind of nice to watch this video. I’ve been a trucker for years and I’ve always enjoyed the feeling you get out West, but these days I stay close to home so I can be with my kid. Ice is no joke, I’m surprised to see so many trucks wrecked up. Maybe I don’t miss it.
