This song is from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. In the book it is sung by a group of elves led by Gildor in chapter three of book one. The scene is fairly depicted in the movie, with the difference being the elves do not stop to speak with the Hobbits or travel with them for a little bit. The elves are journeying to the Grey Havens, Frodo explains to Sam that they will take a ship and leave Middle-Earth, never to return. Sam remarks how it makes his sad, though he does not know why.
I do not own the tune, that is from the movie though I am not sure if Howard Shore wrote it or someone else. If anyone knows please let me know in the comments.
