Perhaps take some of the green astro turf and put a strip over the horizontal feet of the rail? -- Help clean up the look and possibly stop a board from getting wedged under?
You should hook up a flower bed irrigation system. They're really cheap! You could also lay a water proof membrane underneath the whole thing, with a gutter along the bottom to collect and reuse the water using a small pump!?
Also...I don't know if the people who own the land would agree or not but you could...hire a small digger? Make a small hill? Also...how portable is the proslope? Could you take them up the hills and make a tree run? So many nice runs near by! I've had no snow for many moons...
