I melted a new set the other day in less than 100K with store bought scratchers down, had to mount them on the rear section of the slides cause wheels were in the way. Going to add those bolts to the game now, thanks.

I just get 'er sideways every 100 yards. Works for me. 5 years and still same hyfax on an old proaction skid.

good idea, needs some tweaking. Instead of welding on a washer, put a spring between the head of the bolt and the bottom of the ski. That way if you strike something the bolt can pop up for a second to go over it. When you cross the road you can pull it up with your fingers and put a nail or something in a hole you drilled further down the bolt and then pull the nail out when you need the scratchers down again. Also round off the corners of the bolt head. use 5/16 " bolt and don't use in back country, just on lakes and icy trail.

@thierracing notice how they put a pin through the bolt in the skie you take the pin out pull out the scratcher ride across the road or what ever and slide back in and put the pin in

hey how do those ski scratchers hold up when you drive down a road to get to you trails haha i seriously got to know cause i want to do this but not if its going to rip out of my ski and rip part of the sky out with it haha

Duraflex ice Scratchers work best. or Bombardier has their own for Ski Doo sleds, great forward and revefse design. check out Powermodz vids on youtube.

They'll be standard on sleds in a few years. Or optional. But aftermarket ice scratchers, i f they're smart have patents on them.... Some scratchers can go in reverse.

looks like a good way to bust the front ski with that bolt sticking out... asking to catch a rock or something and blow your rear part of your ski to pieces..

@cowman500000 yeah i would definetly forget to do that lol i think im just gonna pay the 40$ for the scratchers to be on the safe side

Great Idea, but more crap to get snagged or hung up....cause a crash..

hey if you can buy a 14.000 sled you can afford buy the proper equipment
