I agree that speed def plays a roll in fuel consumption and getting stuff done. However SnowRunner is trending to a very slow bogged down pace as we've seen in Imandra maps. Also you have to consider getting stuck and the gas consumption use from that while holding the gas down etc. In my humble opinion the stock Azov64131s fuel consumption/power is quite incredible. Ya you are going to go slow without the upgraded engine and the new 5 speed gear box, but the amount i could do in that truck with one tank of gas is quite remarkable. Great video brother!
Yeah I know what you mean, there’s no way really that the dolphin is ever going to beat John on fuel! I tend to take a loaf with me and then that mostly solves the problem, or a scout fuel trailer too if it’s a more trollish map! Yeah there is no wrong answer really on which truck to use, if John was faster then I’d use it more, for me personally I’d rather be further ahead in a mission or something, over not having to refuel as much, but I still drive all kinds of trucks really even when they’re not the best suited, just to keep the variety going too 👍🏻! Haha yeah the long range dolphin has been a very handy setup for me too 👍🏻🍞🐎🐬! I’m glad you’re getting some use out of it too, it’s a pretty unstoppable set up! If not for the sake of video variety, I’d probably drive it all the time lol 👍🏻🍞🐎🐬🎩!
My main use for the 5319 uses the maintenance add-on and pulls the Loadstar/Prototype Trailer as a main scouting setup. Fuel is never an issue with it, however I use the off-road gearbox as I found the 5319 with highway gears hard to control. It rolled over way too easy or went flying in a random direction everytime it touched anything like a root or rock. I'm sure the speed was the problem so I just used the slower offroad gearbox. Low+ is like unstoppable tractor mode with it too. Putting the highway box in high range does cap the speed a bit so maybe I should give that a try. Theres a contest on Drowned Lands where you carry fuel from the farm down to the sawmill and that's where I made the switch from the DAN to the 5319 because it was so much faster, but it was very hard to control with the highway gears.
Yeah I’ve used it a few times with the maintenance add on and it certainly has no fuel troubles then lol 👍🏻! Yeah the high range can be a bit quick on some sections, but the high range gear feels like a pretty nice balance, it doesn’t get fast enough to skid around, but it powers very well through most terrains, and lets the fuel it’s got, get you at least to the next fuel option pretty much every time 👍🏻! Yeah I really like the dan truck, but I couldn’t sell the dolphin back once I tested it, the first truck I kept that I’d paid for lol

@@itsmrlonewolf it truly will help. But there is the corner on the dam itself where it will not pass. I have done a lot of tests. With the power of 2 Bruce’s, the speed of the dolphin etc. but it will not go through there, so half of Michigan is not reachable with it if it is full. Surely if you buy it in another trailer shop it helps but that is a big - in the truest sense of the word - negativ Point.
Yup. Dolphin may have less fuel. But you can get much further on that little fuel it has if the terrain and your driving allows it. It is hard to control. I've been avoiding it in imandra though because there's soo many rocks that you'll destroy the truck or flip because of all the rocks.
Yeah that’s what I’ve found really, I can almost always make it to the next fuel option, but then I just take a loaf and problem solved anyway lol 👍🏻! I agree though imandra is a bit more risky with all the rocks, some of the slower trucks make more sense on imandra

If you tap install and sell almost at the same time (tap dell slightly befor install) you can repeatedly sell two motors back and forth endlessly without having to constamtly re equip the stock motor
I feel like the tanks on the azov trucks are swapped. Just based on fuel consumption. I literally never bother to use the smaller azov. Cause you never need to refuel it. It just removes refueling as a mechanic. Because something you gotta consider about this test. They're both the same speed in mud.
The Highway gearbox does use less fuel. I'm not usually going fast in this game anyway, if I want to go fast I'll turn on GTAO or Gran Turismo and go racing. This games physics gets wonky at high speed, even in the Offroad gearbox if you hit 4th gear on a highway and just pin it, your truck still unrealistically starts sliding around. It's just not enjoyable. This is a game that, just like SpinTires and MudRunner before it, is meant to be taken at a slow pace. Besides I like having the full range of gears. I know you don't use it much but I use 1+ quite a lot in offroad situations. By reading the descriptions I don't think Highway gearbox is programmed properly to be honest. They say the Offroad gearbox is meant to be more sturdy, this would lead me to believe that the Highway gearbox is SUPPOSED to stall extremely easily in mud. But for whatever reason it instead tends to just power though everything. I dunno if they ever intend to fix it, because if the Highway high gear brought up the engine stall warning the moment you hit any kind of serious mud, then that would really change this Offroad VS Highway debate. It'd then come down to "do you want to power though muddy bits quicker, or do you want to go faster on hard trailers but be limited to just basic Low in the tough trails". I assume that's what the devs intended, but yea right now the Highway gearbox kinda feels broken and OP. lol The Highway gearbox is easier on fuel though. Been that way since the game came out.
Yeah the vast majority of the time I’m not really bothering to let it wind up to 8th gear in auto, the game is so fussy with auto in all vehicles, with how easily it wants to jump back to 1st, except the advanced special really, that its best to just leave it in highrange and it’s a nice balance for me, it doesn’t skid around at that speed, but still feels like I’m getting somewhere 👍🏻! Yeah it depends on the trucks though really, the dolphin has some very good pulling power to plough through a lot of stuff, the Derry 4520 for example though can barely maintain high range along a paved road lol, that is constantly in 1st, and often worth taking the off road box and having the low range options
I wouldn't be surprised if the new update with the ability to load trucks in vehicles will noticeably change the 'mega game' with players. We will not be needing to worry anywhere near as much about fuel when towing scouts or other vehicles behind our main truck in a support vehicle role.
Yeah true it could well play a part 👍🏻! I think it will certainly make the option of taking a roof racked scout along for extra range and stuff a lot more tempting and logical over trucks that tend to have better range at the cost of speed
Just get yourself a loaf dude and tow it behind lol 👍🏻🍞🐎! You’ll have 400L of fuel between them, 300 repair points and spare tyres, a back up vehicle incase you roll, and you can still travel faster than John, and if you put a scout fuel trailer on the loaf then you have more like 1300L and can go all night lol 👍🏻🍞🐎!
You should get yourself another 5million or so pretty soon, the latest PTR patch notes says they have fixed the acetone bumper cash grab. On PC I can’t make the engine thing work, not sure if it’s a thing where my computer processor is faster than a console so it keeps up or something else (probably me). I had mused whether or not Thomas method worked with a whole truck in the truck store - that would be the real money bomb, but I haven’t been able to make the engine work so the fact I can get a whole truck for the cheaper truck price isn’t really valid as I don’t have a baseline.
I have tried it on pc, and it certainly does work if you get the timing just right. But then again, why even bother when you can just edit the save file to give yourself any amount of money you like?
On the PTS, the engine, or any other part, glitch stills works for me. Also, not everyone is comfortable, or has the know how, or wants to for whatever reason, modify their game files. Probably more the confidence to change things and not F it up is the reason, but it is a valid reason, and this method appears to be safe with no risk. Why not take the safe option if that's what your comfortable with? If your using a Xbox controller, you want to make sure you are pressing down on the pad is slightly faster then the A. Almost the same time...but down HAS to be a tiny bit first....
Yeah I need to bank a little more money on this soon incase they patch it, I heard about the tuz thing being patched! I think I might start a new game and just bank some cash too so at least if or when I start a new game, I won’t have to grind hours of contests again 👍🏻! As for making that bug work on the pc, I have no idea really as I don’t have one, but I remember someone saying they had a lot more luck making it work by using a controller instead of their keyboard, so maybe that could help if you’ve got one 👍🏻?

But I did also see some comments saying people tried it and they somehow deleted their entire game? @@ThunderSL_Plays yeah I get a bit worried with stuff like that as I don’t know enough about it all so I won’t know I’ve done something wrong until it’s probably too late! I never even tried the truck duplication glitch on this game that people have been doing online, just incase I crashed the game as a fair few people said back near the games release that they just lost their whole game for no apparent reason! Overall this one does feel safer, but for people who know what they’re doing on pc and are comfortable editing code then I don’t blame them lol, it’s been nice being able to just buy stuff without worrying about the not enough money message 👍🏻

Ok Update on Console mods here are the confirmed mods that are coming to Console The ix wrecker,f650 6x6(a Scout) There are lots more but the creators have not confirmed them Mods That have been put towards approval Nissan patrol,Land rover series 3,tatra 8x8,the MAN 10x10,8x8,6x6 and 4x4 The Mack truck I’ve also been put towards approval and Any tweaks to vanilla trucks Things like the Duramax and MTVR’s Have yet to be confirmed but they will most likely come Also maps might come Not sure All this info is from UKGAMER808 For anyone who doesn’t know Console mods will not come in phase 2 but in an update between phase 2 and phase 3 most likely the western star 49X Will also be included in this update kinda of like the Apache
Really hope you guys get access to the Mod maps. The last update(for PC) let the modders add missions to their maps. It would really help fill that time between official updates.

I've always thought the fuel consumption for this game is way off. I'm sure ANY of these trucks should run MORE than one hour before needing to be re-fueled. It's just not realistic when looking at distance travelled vs. petrol used. It's like driving a space shuttle. 🚀
He said in a previous video (possibly referencing the review?) that it looked like it was bouncing around across the terrain like a dolphin. I thought it was because the head looks blocky like a dolphin torch. 🤣
Yeah, the dophin name came from the truck's movement through terrain taking little jumps at high speed like a dolphin. John was just a short generic name to get around saying 64131 every time. And iirc Bruce is named after Bruce Forsyth, a British comedian and the Azov truck's chin brother.

Lol thanks man I’ve tried to make myself remember and use that, but every time I’m not concentrating on it I just flick up the menu on auto pilot mode lol! I like that though it’s a nice feature 👍🏻
2 things, firstly at the moment there'd be little point in programming an engine to produce the effect of having one, you'd just program the effect or experience. Secondly, Jon is worse than it's speed. It's that drone of engine noise and unrelenting rev sound. It never varies... I loathe driving that thing. The extra fuel is worth it to get past the turgid grind of driving it.
the comparison in the runway is flawed because you can go at full speed there, in regular game situations john would be almost as fast as the dolphin. In reality the dolphin wouldn't have such a shitty fuel tank
