It was a crisp winter day, the sun was shining, and my wife, Janie, and I wanted to get out for some snowshoeing, so we opted for the 3km loop that is the Carp Barrens Trail.
In summer, it’s a great mountain biking course, and in winter, a snowshoers’ paradise! Photos simply cannot do justice to it’s rocky outcrops, it’s beaver ponds and snow covered pines. You really have to set out to see what it’s all about.
Because of the environmentally-sensitive nature of the land, dogs are not permitted on the trail, so make sure you leave your four-legged friends at home.
On this day, not only were we out to enjoy the scenery, breathe in the fresh, country air, but also to forage for a few items for a later video. We foraged 2 out of 3 of the ingredients we were looking for, and sought the third elsewhere.
Enjoy the Carp Barrens, and please be sure to tune back in for the next adventure!
