Great video! I personally count powered coasters and Skyline coasters as roller coasters, but that's just me

people will really go out of their ways to turn the most fun activities into accountancy. imagine debating what counts as a rollercoaster instead of simply having fun

0:17 "The only problem is, there are no set rules for counting credits" Honestly, I think that's a really good thing - it makes counting credits a lot more fun imo, so different people can count differently if they feel that's how it should work

For me: Gravity dark rides-yes Intamin 1st gen drop-yes clones-yes powered coasters-no water coasters-it's complicated* larson loopers and skywarps-no full rebuilds-yes* *yes if there's a true coaster section, ie Log Ride at Enchanted Forest *it has to be a full rebuild. Hulk and Nemesis count, a ride like Classic Coaster doesn't at least on the most recent rebuild (Obviously a credit if it's your first ride ever. On the rebuild though, it wasn't retracked, trains were retained, operating systems the same. And I love it for that. Supports were the only thing replaced, to make it compliant with modern building codes that take the Cascadia Subduction Zone into account)

One thing I’ve begun to think about recently is how ride conversions count for credits. Like, is Lightning rod a new credit with the chain lift? Is it at least a new credit relative to the 2016 form with wood track? Is wildcat at lake compounds a new credit? Is tt2 a new credit?

I count Stampida at Port Aventura as 2 credits, because it's not a mobius loop and half way through the ride, both sides have slightly different layouts and actually pass each other in the opposite direction.

I consider Mantis/Rougarou as 1 credit, not 2 only because to me it just feels like the same ride

Honestly I mostly use rcdb to determine whether or not to count it

Couple questions to the community: Would you count the following as an individual credit Relocated coaster? At the moment I have but kind of stuck in the middle. If a coaster is converted (Mantis to Rougarou)? (I have - I hated Mantis) Dueling (EX: Dueling Dragons and Lightning Racer) (I have) Racing where the turns go in different directions (EX: Kings Island Racer) (I do not but felt I should have when one side went backwards) Curious on everyone's thoughts.

You didn't address coasters, which moved parks. From your definition of clones, both locations would count as seperate counts, but it is still the same coaster ;-)

interesting video. But please speak a bit slower. I am Scottish and I am used to listening to people speak fast. But this is meant to be an informative video so slow it down to allow people time to digest what you are saying. A few upsides to this. 1. Non Native English speakers will be able to understand you better. 2. Your watch time will go up with longer videos so youtube algorithm will like you more. 3. It wont sound like your bursting for a poo and got to get a video out. You did say the quality is iffy cos you were in the middle of nowhere. Wait till you get home and make the video and make sure the quality is as good as you can make it.
