All I know is us Houstonian’s are out here getting our life lol! They played every song from the album on the radio for like 3 days straight out here!😭 ‘RENAISSANCE’ to me was needed as a sort of breath of fresh air and a statement for Black LGBT people specifically to have a chance to really center ourselves in a way that’s never possible in mainstream, because white lgbt really take up SO MUCH space and most “gay anthems” IMO have over represented them over the years. For me Vogue and Born This Way were great, but too all queers matter in nature. The gay community is too divided by race and class for me to accept anymore “kumbaya” anthems about the queer experience from the Pop divas. I’m glad Beyoncé kept this very much a specific to color and culture. Next, Ts Madison in particular was someone I’ve watched grow since Vine was poppin’ and it was great to see her shine like this on ‘Cozy’. Big Freedia is another I loved seeing come so far. I remember when Bounce first made its way to Houston after Katrina. We had never really heard it before, but I remember my homegirl from NOLA played Big Freedia, Baby Erin and Cissy Nobby and I was just in awe of the sound. Vocally, I love the runs on this album and Beyoncé’s very round and ethereal tone sounds so crisp and pleasant, and also the transitions between each song. I love that Bey always samples the Clarke Sisters, and I love how she arranged ‘CHURCH GIRLS’. The ‘You Brought The Sunshine’ album is something my mama played a lot growing up, so I love whenever I hear something from it. And I’d like to add that Twinkie Clarke is the greatest gospel producer of ALL TIME. PERIOD.🔥 ‘CUFF IT’ is definitely gonna be a “cook out” favorite for us as a community, IMO. It has a cheerful, familial quality to it, that makes you wanna dance and fall in love for love’s sake. “Alien Superstar” reminded SO much of the musical scores production on Stranger Things. “PURE/HONEY” makes me feel confident and like I can do anything. ‘The run she did at the end of Virgo’s Groove was immaculate. I could go on , but y’all get it lmao. Bey really does reinvent herself better than anyone at this point and I don’t see any signs of her appeal dying, which’s very interesting for women in Pop 35+. The album is beautiful and reminds me a lot of B’day and 4. She did all this without any visuals either. 10’s across the board!🔥❤️

Top 3 for me: Alien Superstar, Virgo’s Groove, Cuff It. So hard to choose because the entire album is a banger from start to finish no skips! ❤️

Dangerously in Love, B-Day, and this album are my top 3 as well.. B-Day is still her best tho imo

beyonce making to me one of her best (deffo top 3) albums 25 years into her career is really a testimony to her talent like wow

Alien is a grower for me. America Has a Problem is my standout track, I was immediately draw to it. Also Energy jumped out too until Kelis killed the vibe. I actually feel like the album is a grower FOR ME, just like I didn’t immediately like Break My Soul.

I pray for music to be like this again. After listening to some of her music earlier. I can see why you love it so much.

I feel like you really read my mind sometimes. Me and my coworker talked about her not to long ago. I was never a big fan of hers but This Album,This is the One. Personally After Bday I lost interest. I feel she's inspired by Solange heavily. Alien Superstar is my jam but Plastic off the Sofa is everything.

Alien Superstar is my song. I can't get into cuff it bc I only hear draft punk get lucky beats and that throws me off.
