Samantha became famous as a Page 3 girl. One of our papers, The Sun, introduced the Page 3 girl, a topless model which ran from 1970-2015. Sam was only just over 18 when her pictures were published. Her singing career was short, but she remind big in some European countries & India, I think. A few years ago she came out as gay & still pops up on British TV from time to time. One her more famous appearances was doing what is known as The Brit Awards, our version of the Grammys. They broadcasted it live & Sam was presenting it with Mick Fleetwood. Sam is about 5ft 5, Mick over 6 feet! That was silly & then things went wrong & neither are professional presenters. It took a few years before the Brits was done live!
They were slightly unlucky with those BRIT Awards, what’s not always reported is there was an IRA bomb warning in the vicinity that meant many of the guests, nominees and winners were delayed by security, so the whole running order was being made up on the hoof, and the autocue was redundant and they were reduced to having a guy kneeling in front of the stage writing the script on big pieces of card for them to read.
Samantha Fox had other uptempo hits like “Naughty Girls (Need Love Too”, “I Wanna Have Some Fun” and her cover of Dusty Springfield's “I Only Wanna Be With You”.
I'm 54 and when that video came out I was in high school and let's just say that all my buddies and I were big fans of her. Obviously not for the music haha! But in time I've grown to appreciate her talent. She fold over 30 million albums and have supported many charities. When she came out in early 2000's as being a lesbian I tought it took a lot of courage because part of her appeal was her look and in your face sexuality in her lyrics. But, her voice and her talent as a live performer is what kept her in the game for so long. She is still touring and sounds as good as ever. She is definitely one of Britain's brightest stars and a fantastic Lady.
I was there for the MTV premiere of Sam's Music video of "Touch Me". She had a few big hits in the 1980's. Thanks for this little reminder of yesterday. Peace, guys. Later.
In all her hits the backup vocals were performed by the group Full Force. They also helped UTFO, Lisa Lisa & the Cult Jam plus they had their own career w/ some big hits. Their biggest hit was Unfaithful. Full Force was R&B w/ some Rap.
@@loritajohnson5664 not only was Full Force in that movie but they played the public basketball court bullies in the first season of Fresh Prince of Bel Aire.
I’d say “Ain’t My Type of Hype” was their biggest hit, but that just may be my fav. Haha. If they react to House Party I hope they react to some Full Force.
Glad you guys did this reaction. Sam Fox was semi-big, not only topside, but chart wise. Haha. She did have some great songs. I had also requested this one and i hpe you guys enjoyed it.
This is why I love 80’s music. Even though I was a kid when the 80’s ended, it just makes me feel eternally young and transported to a simpler time. It always makes me happy.
It couldn't be any other era, the bleached blonde hair and ripped double denim. She was a page 3 pin-up girl during the eighties. That is topless. This one's a bit of a guilty pleasure.😁 Cheers, Paul. Of the same ilk was Sabrina, Boys Boys Boys.
She was a real Sex symbol back then. I'll just say this, If you had a poster of her on your wall, She wasn't wearing a lot. Her big hit was Naughty Girls Need Love Too
Alotta people thought that the porn star, Samantha Fox was the singer too. They thought she went from porn to a singer, BUT there were definitely 2 different Samantha Fox’s
😂 Wow! Suddenly transported back to a hairspray and smoke filled "teen" dance... though im not sure i was actually old enough to be there. Which of course made it better 😂
Thank you!! "Naughty Girls Need Love, Too" was awesome AND the dancing in the video is amazing. Samantha Fox was so interesting - yes she was a huge hit with the guys because she's freakin' HOT, but almost every girl I knew loved her, too.
I remember when this song came out! I was a teenager at 15 about to turn 16 in July. Myy cousins were talking about how Samantha Fox had posed nude in magazines in the UK and was very ample in all the right places lol. When you become famous whatever you do gets put out there. The song was played at all the house parties.
Thanks you two for reacting to this video. Samantha Fox was my childhood crush when I was about 12 years old. I had a bunch of posters of her on my bedroom walls until i was well into my teens. I follow her on Instagram, and she's still touring and singing, releasing new songs, and living her best life. I hope she eventually tours Canada 🇨🇦 and comes to Vancouver. I would love to attend that concert. Some other songs of hers you might want to react to in the future: Naughty Girls Need Love Too I Wanna Have Some Fun Fun House Hurt Me, Hurt Me (But The Pants Stay On) Just One Night
@@daverhoden445 Yeah. It was my favorite cartoon when it was on TV. I have it on DVD and still watch it from time to time. Could you imagine a live action movie adaptation? That would be epic.
I just love it when a video makes Amber blush! Samantha Fox was the total package of twisted steel and sex appeal. She literally had it all; gorgeous face, fantastic body, incredible moves, and that sexy kittenish voice that drove men absolutely bonkers. All of my male friends in high school, and several of my female friends, had massive crushes on her. I had posters of her on my bedroom. Wall that left very little to the imagination. Even my dad, who only likes old school country, had to stop and stare when he found me watching her video for this song. On top of her impressive body of musical work, Samantha was known as a "page 3 girl" in England. I'll just let y'all Google that!
There she is for sure my biggest crush in my teen years, she doesnt stop there guys, "naughty girls need love too" and " I wanna have some fun " and a short but sweet one " I only wanna be with you"
She was most definitely a “posters on the wall” girl! And then some! Quite a few “pictorials” and “special photo shoots” for certain magazines too that made ALL of the young male population love her even more! 😏
To chime in with a bunch of other people... I was also a 15 year old boy when this song came out. I remember all the "sexy" posters that were out there of her, and I definitely owned one or two, lol. I was "in love" with her for 2 years. It probably would have been longer, but then came 1988 and I saw Lita Ford's "Kiss Me Deadly" video and was like "Samantha who?" The '80s had TONS of talented and beautiful rock and pop stars. It was an amazing decade to be a teenage boy! 🤣
Holy cow! I can’t believe you guys finally found Samantha Fox. Several more hits with ‘Naughty Girls Need Love Too,” “I Wanna Have Some Fun,” “Fun House,” and “Hurt Me, Hurt Me (But the Pants Stay On).”
Samantha Fox, one of the few girls who could intrigue Freddie Mercury! It was a hot time on television in Europe back then. Samantha with her songs, Sabrina Salerno with her song Boys (Summertime Love). If you want more from Sam Fox "Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now". She also covered "I Only Want to Be with You" originally by none other than Dusty Springfield!
Teenage boys had posters on their bedroom walls of Sam Fox long before she became a pop star as she was a topless model for the sun newspaper here in the UK . Groovy baby Schwing !
Oh, did teenage boys in 1984 have posters of Samantha Fox on their walls.Oh did they? They so much did. Posters where she was wearing no more clothes than absolutely mecessary. I do remember another song that became a minor hit, called "Do ya do (wanna please me)" that also had those sighs in it. You might also want to check our Sabrina, with her hit "Boys boys boys", an Italian woman with very much the same image. And a video that will definitely make you blush!
The woman was a gorgeous pinup. Songstress? Not what I think of when I hear her name. I recall seeing her at a celebrity autograph show late 90's. She was actually very nice and down to earth. Extremely cool person to talk to and still drop dead gorgeous.
Samantha Fox is one saucy minx! All of her US hits were just this side of raunchy but they were fun. Touch Me was her first US hit in 1986 and she had two more top 10 hits with Naughty Girls Need Love Too and I Wanna Have Some Fun. Check both of these out.
She used to be a topless page three model on one of the U.K. tabloid newspapers in the early 1980 s she launched her musical career by signing to jive records and having stock aitkin and Waterman as her producers she was very popular in America where she had a number of big chart hits
Amber, I love your shirt! This song is awesome. It’s like the keyboards blend into each other. I bet this was a BIG surprise!😂 Jay, you definitely did not see this one coming at ya!
3 years and still can't get but one of these women on female Fridays! Where's Soul Train when you need it? Come on Amber and give these awesome soul singers some love at least once.... Check out Stephanie Mills hits "I Feel Good All Over" " Comfort Of A Man" and the duet with Teddy Pendergrass "Feel the Fire" Still waiting on you to do other awesome soul singers like Phyllis Hyman(Living All Alone) and the most powerful singer Jennifer Holliday(And I'm Telling You) Betty Wright "No Pain No Gain" Lisa Fisher "How Do I Ease the Pain" Sylvia "Pillow Talk" Angela Winbush "Angel" Evelyn Champaign King "Shame"
Everybody had a poster of her in his room at some point, at the time.. She was an "inner-page girl" of a British newspaper, nothing silicon about her assets, and she put it to good use (and why not.). This song is such a great fit, and she can sing, this is analog production, like the woman singing it.
She was just as famous for her posters. I grew up here in Texas I'm 50 years old and I grew up in high school with Samantha Fox poster on my wall. Just Google Samantha Fox poster
I had such the crush on Samantha Fox. If I remember right they were more concerned with her looks than if she could sing and then it turned out she COULD sing. I had the cover of the long box from her CD hanging in my locker. Lol.
In 1988 I had a poster of samantha fox in my room. I was only 8 yrs old. I wanna have some fun was her recent song and album at that time. I think I still have the cassette, and I do have posters of her on my apartment walls now! Lol
Ah yes the infamous 80s page 3 girl! That’s a UK thing. But she’s fun! She had a few hits. Try out Naughty Girls and her cover of I Only Want To Be With You
She also had a sort of hit “Love house”, written by the Dutch brothers Bolland & Bolland. They also produced the song “Jeanny” from Falco. You had this song in your channel as well. The song “Tell it to my heart” from Taylor Dayne is about the same time and só 80’s! You should do that song!
Samantha Fox started as a topless model in the newspapers of the uk, she became extremely famous over here, she was picked up by the music producers Stock, Aitken & Waterman for this song and others, she's since had a good successful career in europe with her music
I haven't heard this in forever. I actually remember when Samantha Fox was on an episode of Charles In Charge, everybody went crazy with that. This song also reminds of another one from Exposé, "Point Of No Return". I think you both have reacted to Exposé once before too. Definitely worth a listen. 😎👍
