So I bought a skidder.... why the heck did I do that???! Clark 667D 

Quick walk thru of my latest crazy spur of the moment bad decision (never offer a mechanic a good deal on something he doesn’t need!!!!!)
Late 1980’s Clark 667D grapple skidder, Cummins 6BT, 24.5x32 tires.... oooooo it’s everything I like in a skidder short of a kickin stereo and AC 🤣👍
Of course it did come with some issues I’ll be working my way thru, previous owner had an intercooler leak take out a piston on the original motor so they installed a 6BT 5.9L from an early Dodge pickup truck and it seems the curse of all things Dodge followed the engine to its new home.... but we will exorcise these demons... with a vengeance.
Problems I’m dealing with, excessive fuelling and power loss.... turbo is DONE and injection pump will likely need to be overhauled or replaced along with the injectors, a Diesel engine is only as good as its fuel system and that is a slave to its intake/exhaust/boost.... but the engine has zero (or darn close) blow by and sounds healthy.... transmission seems to be decent and the torque still had enough zest to let it crawl up onto a lowboy even barely over an idle.....
Anyway.... you’ll see more of this beast in the near future.... I’ve got a few trees in my yard it’ll come in handy to deal with 😉👍
