So I Confronted the Scammer Impersonating Me & THIS Happened 

I love that the scammer tried to gaslight him into believing he’s not really himself.

I appreciate that Davie actually confronted the scamming on his page. I had this happen to me a couple of months ago on a different channel and when I contacted the person whose channel it was to verify if they actually contacted me or if it was a scam, I received a generic "Thanks for stopping by" response. I haven't watched his channel since, and I really like his channel. I know it is a pain, but the content community needs to get together to put the word out that scammers are preying on commenters. It needs to be community-wide and continuous until everyone knows what is going on. Content creators rely on eyes on their channels, viewers who feel that they are no longer safe on a particular channel will stop watching said channel, and that channel dies.

I’m a Nigerian and there are thousands of people doing this on thousands of RU-vid channels. It’s disgraceful and these people give Nigerians a bad name.

I'm a security analyst and I teach classes on the side to people on how to avoid scams. This video was amazing, you did a great job! The problem is it's not just one person, there are entire operations employing hundreds of people to do these scams. You may have been talking to 5 or more people in that one conversation. It would be awesome if you did a collaboration with Pirogi over at Scammer Payback! Also, I can teach you how to find more info and have more fun with their IP address... LOL

A similiar thing happened to me a few years ago. His alibi was that he was actually some fashion model stranded somewhere. I used traceroute and a few other tools to find that someone from Lagos was emailing me from a hotel in Atlanta, Georgia USA. When I revealed what I had found, the emails stopped abruptly. There's a tool for channel owners to automatically detect and delete spam comments, called YT-Spammer-Purge, LinusTechTips made a video about it called "Fixing what RU-vid couldn’t. - ThioJoe Spammer Purge"

I love how Davie doesn't change his style for this video, but basically has turned into a Scambaiter for the benefit of his fans and the future of his channel. This is however a ridiculous problem that I can't believe RU-vid still allow, yet they block the most inane things.

The scammers have been on RU-vid for a few years now, I've reported them for other channels and they come back 5 mins later, scammers are everywhere, the only way you can protect yourself is to watch scambaiting channels, you learn alot and it keeps you safe.

Nicely done. I really hope larger channels like yours can band together and push RU-vid/Google into addressing this problem. I'm realistic enough to know that we can never stop all of them, but letting them run rampant isn't the solution. There has to be some kind of reporting mechanism for RU-vid creators to use to slow these scammers way down.

I've encountered many other examples of this scam tactic on other videos too as you said, but nobody else made such an elaborate try to do something about it. I've found this "Talk to me on Telegram" messages on other channels. I always report them and nothing happens. You doing this for your channel shows that you really care for your followers and that says a lot about you, you rock. I really hope RU-vid learns how to deal with them because these are dangerous for every gullible internet user, and internet is full of people that don't understand how internet works...
