Honestly one of the best mods I've played. Especially considering its age (released in 2001). Strongly recommend as long as you're not an idiot like me who decided to play it on HARD.
You got the bad ending. If you connect the power up to the generator and use it you get the good ending where you get a raise and a lifetime supply of Pokecola
Holy shit he reads his comments. If I could sub twice I would. Get the sequel uploaded when you can. Can't wait to see it. Watching somebody else die 50 times in a row is much less frustrating than having it happen to me 100 times over.
Wait this mod was released in 2001? Holy shit. This is absolutely phenomenal for something of that age. I would honestly love to see a remake of this game on the source engine. Updated visuals and graphics would be awesome to see.
im pretty sure it was made for a german school project, so the teacher asked that the protagonist not use any guns (hence it's a pipe and nailguns instead of the crowbar and pistol/smg, the shotgun i guess was added later AFTER the project was shown)
Does Jolly know you can pause the game on messages? Gives you all the time in the world to read them... (Surprised no-one in the chat mentioned that...) Also, yes, there was a sequel. Curious is Jolly's going to play it.
Jolly played Poke and Vendetta a long time ago, previous summer if I'm not wrong. It's just that videos are coming only now. And there's stream archive on RU-vid with streams for both mods.
Didn't you know? Nature is peaceful! It's not like *everything is trying to survive in an endless kill or be killed cycle that we romanticize because humans are at the top of the food chain*
@@coltpiecemaker "Everyone thinks nature is so peaceful, yet I watched several overdramatized American nature documentaries where they dub in tiger roars on praying mantises, and trust me, ALL animals ever do is kill each other!"
Admittedly, this is the most hilarious playthrough of our mod that I've ever watched, and your final verdict is much appreciated. I'll make sure to forward the video links to the team!
Didnt the xen invasion go something like this on the alien side "oh hey, these guys are opening portals like a bunch of idiots, wouldn't it be funny if we invade them with everything we have?" The only creatures that might just be scared or acting out of instinct were the animals, vortigaunts were forced to attack and the controllers with the grunts were pretty much part of the alien army
You need to understand This was made before Half-life 2 ever came out and so the role of the xen invaders was far more murky and open to interpretation. This is basically a fan made sequel to half-life 1 before half-life 2 ever came out.
@@Feasco that's incorrect. The Black Mesa incident took place several months (or years? One of those two) before the events of this mod, it sais so right in the beginning. Poke646 is a separate research entity. I don't quite know if it's implied that the reason for the Black Mesa Invasion was the threat of extinction by Poke646 or whether those events are separate. Either way, Black Mesa was covered up by the government, so it's safe to assume that the first invasion was successfully stopped by Gordon Freeman. It would appear that Poke646 started researching ways to open up portals and eliminating Xen which led to a second invasion, this time a defensive one.
Why, he got a full-time vacation in an exotic location with interesting fauna and flora to enjoy everywhere. That's a pretty generous severance package if you ask me.
I want a sequel where you play as a different Poke 646 employee who ends up on Xen & encounter a 20-years-older Damian, a hermit who eats headcrabs and mates with vortigaunts.
Your style of content really fits this new Let's Play format. It satisfies your stream viewers (which are probably your main audience) and when a stream goes particularly well you have a week's worth of content to chop up and release. It's a win-win. Loved this series, hope to see more soon
Jolly, I would really much like to watvh you play the mods wanted, and absolute redemption. Just to bring back those childhood memories. Keep up the good work, I love your content :)
Hey jolly!!! I love the series, and I love this format you are doing. Just a bit advice editing wise, maybe pump up the brightness a little bit, cuz it gets pretty dark sometimes and my phone brightness can only go up so much. Besides that, good job and keep it up!!
"There's a spaceship why don't I just fly the spaceship" is a good question, but please take note of the following: 1. you don't know how 2. space is a slight bit bigger than you imagine and you don't know where xen is in relation to earth, or even if it's on the same plane of existence (in hl1 it was implied it's a parallel plane as opposed to just a place in normal space) 3. what is the fuel, how long does it last, and how do you refuel? 4. what if anything do you eat on the journey? 5. if xen is on the same plane of existence as earth and you don't have to worry about any of the other things for some reason, how do you survive the trip to earth? closest star to earth is proxima centauri. let's assume for argument's sake that xen is proxima centauri. it takes 4.24 years for light to travel between proxima centauri and earth. That means the distance is (using c = 300,000 km/s) 9.46 trillion kilometers away. If half-life and this mod are roughly modern-era what-ifs, the fastest spacecraft earth has is at most capable of travel at 163 km/s. It would take this random dude 58 billion years to reach earth. That's enough time to pass that not only would there be no proof left anywhere that he ever existed, but also that the spaceship ever existed. That's all assuming that Xen is as close as possible to Earth.
Btw, it's nice to see like a series with a beginning middle and end on your channel. You used to make only 1 parters with no follow ups at it was low key frustrating sometimes lol. (yes, i double comment to increase engagement, it's the least i can do, be annoying!)
Remember kids: if you get beaned in the head by a heavy object falling off a shelf, you will wind up stranded and alone in the cold void of an alien world.
Because of you, Jolly, I've downloaded this mod and latest version of hl 1 goldsource. I've many mods. Over 40 like point of view and azure sheep and etc. But never want to play in 646. But, because of you. Cuz U my favourite. And today I've completed it. And U know what? It wasn't so hilarious at all like what I've watched on your channel. But, thanks. Привет из Казахстана, Петропавловск, 150000. Watching you from the start
Most of the last video: "I HAVE NO AMMO AND EVERYTHING IS PAIN" Within the first minute of this video: "Oh hey, there are tons of enemies shooting each other, let's waste my ammo on them even though they'll kill each other off and I won't need to do anything"
4:27 In general, it's fair. Well, considering that they don't work one at a time, only one should really be protected. One is easier to protect. I don't really know, though, why they're protecting him from a Poke 686 employee (or whatever that shit is called). Obviously, someone lost not only the car key but also the badge.
Honestly, Damien got fucked, first, a bucket gave him a concussion, then, he gets trapped in an alien world with no way home, bad day is an understatement
Well, technically he saved Xen. Saving the world would have been turning on the Generator and wiping out any possibility of a future invasion by Xen. Either way, he would have been killed in the cover-up afterwards, so there really isn't a good ending for him.
1:30 is so weird, 3 digit health on a jolly vid... 8:30, I really should have watched fully before commenting 🤣 Jokes aside was a great watch, I really need to get into watching this twitch thing, I see it's somewhat popular.
Well that was one hell of a way to get views by a series jolly. Though i still prefer a shorter series with some heavier editing (music, subtiltes to funny things, images, etc...)
Seems like mod author attempted to make it something in line of survival horror where you were supposed to avoid encounters wheneaver possible to save health and ammo, but missed the mark completely
