Just so you all know I am aware this video series (especially at the start) is quite slow paced. I really felt this fit more as a "lets play" than a "highlights reel" and edited it all as such.

from what I remember this mod was actually a german school project to be graded by a teacher. The teacher only agreed to it if it didn't have lots of firearms in it which is why the pistol and the SMG in this mod are nailguns.

Here is another fun fact: The name Poke646 is part of a Commodore 64 Basic command that changes the text colour (and the colour of the cursor). Thats the reason he choose this name. Fun fact number 2: It was not a school project (well close enough). It begann as the Diploma thesis (Diplom = Old german University degree similar to a Master thesis now) of Marc Schröder in the subject "interactive media".

True. Really overused trope in film and video games. If you’re unconscious for more than a few seconds you need to seriously see a doctor immediately. You don’t just get up after an hour and dust yourself off and move on.

Poke646, now that's a mod I have not thought about for absolutely forever. It must have been more than fifteen years ago when I played the thing! One of the last truly great mods of the golden age of Half Life 1 modding. So many of them have never been ported to Goldsource, I would love to play Firearms again.

he never said there where not any good mods after.. he said it was one of the last truely great mods of the golden age of HL modding.... which is kinda correct. HL modding did take a backseat, it never died completly, and there are still great mods, but the golden Age of it is over
$15 an hour in Ukraine means you are pretty damn wealthy and could even afford to buy a car!! (i earn $3.8 an hour working nights full time at an American company, and so i myself actually earn more than most citizens of Kiev do, but i'm still unreachably far from getting $15 and hour.... if only i were a programmer though, then i'd get as much $10/hr easily)
Ok I'm glad it wasn't just me. This mod was BRUTAL. I didn't struggle too much but I was constantly playing it super safe and still on pretty much no health.
The game's own title splash titles chapter 1 "Audion(sic) Industries" and Jolly titled the video "Audition Industires(sic)" and that's some beautiful symmetry right there
Great video again! I like how it's more of a whole coherent story instead of just the funny moments that don't really have that much to do with the story of the game. Somehow gives it a more relaxed atmosphere while still being quite fun. Like it!

The Poke 646 duology will always be my favorite mods, the early 2000s city vibe always reminded me of the Matrix Which is ironic with how the main protag's last name is Reeves
This mod was amazing back in the day. I should suggest Point Of View (where you play a vortigaunt), Azure Sheep (expanding on Barney's lore), and Absolute redemption. The first two were genuinely good expansions; the third was... interesting if I'm remembering right. Also! Have you done They Hunger yet?

5:47 When I worked pizza delivery like 6 years ago, a $3 raise whould have been a crazy increase to me. I likely wouldn't have fought aliens for it, but I'm lucky as shit and could have just leaned on my parents if I needed to. I have no idea what I would be willing to do if I didn't have that backup, and it scares the shit out of me that economic survivability can be changed by that small an amount of money.
