So I Started Reading Tower of God... 

Some criticism. You should like put a spoiler warning at the start saying all spoilers for the show.

One thing I will say about TOG. It may look like to some that there are just random arcs but that's not the case. Author already thought out it's end and different arcs which will take place and he thought out all of it in 2010( beginning of TOG) . All of the lore drop are important and will be detailed in future. Every arc give some lore and point which will be significant later on. When you will reach around end of s2 then these all dots will connect to give detailed picture. Author has a blog and there is a blog post for each chapter. There are some additional lore given in those blog lore which are awesome and world building wise great. I will recommend to read those blog post from ch 1 if you want to understand tower and different influence in tower better. But only read blog post for chapters upto which you have caught up. This will take some time but if you read all of those till where you are now then believe me you will appreciate Tog much more and know that author has already set up very detailed and massive plot and not just go about making plot as he TOG goes on. They don't contain spoiler as author himself give them Link is towerofgod.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_Chapters In each chapter blog post is given if you scroll down. There are massive spoiler so don't look into anything other than those. In few chapter blog post there are mind blowing info about tower, characters like family heads, Fug which are known among tower residents and much more.

SPOILERS It's basically like killing your own mother for Bam. Bam's moments of self discoveries is one of my favorite parts of this series, it adds so much to his character. Plus, i hate when people say they want Viole it just makes me sad especially after Khun and Rak fought Bam's arch nemesis and we got to know what Bam felt being Viole.

Rabi Ino Spoilers- Yes yes yes. That's why the Last Station and Hidden Floor are my favorite Arcs in the show. Bam's character arc is pretty much my favorite aspect of the comic and why he's my favorite character. The scene where Bam confronts his arch enemy(Viole) in the hidden floor arc legitimately made me cry. And I don't understand that either. Why would you want Viole when we have S3 Bam, who is objectively the best version of Bam yet. Why would you disregard all his development 😞

After seven years of getting pushed around if the guy hasn't learned his lesson then he is a simp...and if you disagree with that your basically justifying his lack of development in this regard

Everything is just well thought in this webtoon that I wonder how did siu thought of all of this and how much did it take from him to think before writing this story.

Sociopaths do evil as they don't fell it's evil. Actually Sociopath has no current definition it has been replaced by Anti Social Personality Disorder and Rachel does not have that or any other mental illness based on what we know about her. Confusion is people using a buzz word like Sociopath for all criminal behavior when it only applies to a subset.

No i don't think i know a lot of people that wouldn't hesitate betraying someone so innocent and pure like bam. She doesn't even try to explain things to him and doesn't care at all if he dies, as if she forgot all the nice times she spent with bam in the cave. She says hurtful things to bam just out of sheer jealousy "why are you still alive?" I mean i get that she's jealous, even i would be if i were her. But she's known bam before anyone so she knew how innocent and nice bam is. Hurting someone like bam would really take a lot for me to do. And btw even miseng had inferiority complex, but she worked hard to become strong enough that bam and her teammates wouldn't have to worry about her anymore. We never see rachel trying, all she does is uses others. And not like she's the master of manipulation or anything, that's not what sets her apart from others. We have seen her fail to convince grand de jah to let her compete to get the thorn fragment (it was bam who convinced him, not rachel). She whines about not being lucky to be born talented or pretty, but the truth is that she's just as lucky as bam. Powerless people like her get killed in the tower, even endorsi was suprised that she made it so far up the tower even when she's so useless. Bam went through hell when training to become as powerful as he is now, but rachel just got all the resources she needs to go up the tower by doing nothing. She didn't do anything to get emilie or the powerful stingray fish she got from gustang. She really is lucky for making it so far but its disgusting that she still continues to curse god and everyone else around her for any problem that she faces. SIU really made one hell of an antagonist to hate. Its not wrong to hate rachel cuz she was meant to be hated.

A lot of people misses this but Rachel was shaking when she met bam again , it was also implied that she knew that bam is alive. -Rachel is meant to be an ordinary person and the opposite of bam but she takes all the worst part, she ain't special at all unlike bam who is destined to be a jesus or something. In an other way Rachel struggles because nothing really goes to her way which is pretty deserving and she is very weak, that is surely frustrating when all the people in the tower who you competes with are talented and even beautiful. -Rachel is lucky but it could also because she is a major pawn of someone else. She managed to have those sting ray and emily because she is a pawn, it was stated by gustang. It's not really sure if she is lucky or not, when in the beginning she is just a pawn. -Rachel is realistic because she is human, she is selfish, whiny, guilty, jealous, loaths herself, weak, had a self low esteem, and had an average appearance. She is a representation of a flawed human and the uglier side of a human, that is her theme. -Rachel is intended to be hated but also relatable in the perspective of the reader. There is so much to her character. I hope you can understand my points regarding about her.

i argue that where bam and rachel's story started was outside the tower (in deference to the info we got on bam's parents and the little we know about them and what they wanted/who they were). I think that it may have been the safest place for bam without his parents

That is what being an Irregular means. There are 13 known and alive Irregulars in the Tower. The 10 Family leaders Jahad Baam Urek Mazino There are 3 dead Irregulars that are known of: the guy who transmuted Floor 39 into the Floor of Death 'V' Viole (Baams Father) Arlene Grace (Baams Mother) What I mean with rules do not apply: Administrators control the "floors". They control Shinsu (Shinsoo). Think Mana/Power. All the regulars in the Tower get attributed a share of the Towers Shinso by the Administrators. Baam has his own independend supply. The Administrators can cancel Shinso-skills from regulars. Not from Baam. Administrators can control souls, so can Baam. A ruling decreed by Jahad. Applies to everybody except Baam and the other Irregulars. Baam can in theory enter and exit every Floor as he chooses. The others *have* to take tests and gain permits. ...

Yes I agree with the power scaling. Every time he gets a power up, new move or better at martial arts it still pales in comparison to a Ranker. It’s only until season 3 that he actually has the skill to stand a chance against a Ranker. This tells you a lot about why Rankers (with the exception of Examiners) are forbidden to fight Regulars in the tower. Rankers are basically adults and Regulars are still little kids power-wise. Rankers could easily beat Regulars to a pulp.

Yeah reading season 1 was really great for not just the parts they left out in the anime, but also for the things that the viewer couldn’t catch easily in the anime since it was progressing pretty fast. Letting all the previously mentioned lore actually sink in, really pays off when reading later.

Trust me, the art style in season 1 is incomparable to that of the current episode, it gets so much better, and so does the story(I've been reading it for about 4 years now)

The guys in the train arc also reveal themselves are old of thousands years. It’s also said in the 2nd roof that passed a certain level of shinsu mastery, the body stop aging normally

She said that when bam was sayung he'd kill her if she keeps hurting him and his friend and that he never wants to see her again. So its very likely she just said it to force bam not to cut her out of his life completely or kill her (wouldnt be the first time she lies to him)

More Spoilers: They eventually stop going up the tower as bigger problems arise, problems which endager the very nature of the tower and jahad himself.

Jahad stopped at 134 cuz they failed going up and just "gave up" and instead ruled all the lower floors.

As for the hell train simp 2.0 push... Bam mentioned he didn't know what he would do if he ever saw her again. I agree that second push event was absolutely aggravating, but the reasons for his thoughts about Rachel and what he did in response are pretty valid if you put yourself in his position, and analyze it from a psychological standpoint. We the readers have the sense to know Rachel is rotten and always will be, but that's because we all have grown up with people around us who have shaped our views on the world and have had examples presented before us demonstrating the consequences of situations like these. Bam only ever had Rachel to shape his BASIC world view. You can say he is a victim of some degree of emotional/mental abuse brought on by the world view and values she instilled in him, having him "worship" her, even if unintentional (I have a hard time believing it was unintentional considering her severe inferiority complex). His allies aren't really equipped to be psychologists themselves, and it's not like Bam openly ever sought help to figure out his thoughts - like Khun A.A., he has a really bad habit of wanting to carry all the load by himself so that others either don't suffer or he doesn't lose what matters to him. Perhaps he never really knew he could ask for help, considering he never truly stopped to think of himself, instead defining his worth through everyone around him and refusing to increase their suffering by adding his own. It's even worse once you find out about Rachel knowing more about Bam's history than we thought. It's okay, he does get better. Hwaryun, some near death instances, some other spoiler events and the passage of time do give him some much needed slaps in the face to snap out of it. Michael Nwazue Rachel most likely been manipulating Baam from the very beginning, she knew Arlene somehow and it’s been hinted at that Rachel might have been a maid on the outside and she definitely knows more about the tower than she’s letting on, all that aside though, she’s a pity jealous person, she hates the way she looks and most of her actions can be attributed to her being pity af and she doesn’t even realize how fucked up her actions are. All in all I would say that she’s a well written antagonist, but I wouldn’t go as far to call her character deep, I dun see depth to filthy people.

Allan Brewster let me then ask, how do you define deep? Because Rachel was at first a mother figure, who tossed away her baby bird for something else-then you see her as a coward, and weak? Yet spiteful of the fact that she wasn’t chosen by destiny, and willing to do anything to change that-then she was a cruel backstabber, no better than any other tower climber and jealous of baam’s ability to attain everything she desired. She betrayed him, and millions of readers (now anime only’s) asked, why? Then you get sprinkles of her story, which add to the depth, she care from a place above the cave to take care of baam, in a world where Headon was recorded as a “Fairy” from a “book”, and THEN learn that she knew Arlene. Most likely a maid as you said. Spite ya don’t jealous she may be, but those same characteristics are very VERY human. Rachel at her core reflects the human condition at its core. And it’s a condition reflected in our own world for decades. When the weak dream big, but they’re not the “main protagonist” as it were, what hope do they have to get there? Many die young from poverty or starvation, or drug abuse. Rachel was a maid, but we have no idea how she was treated in her homeland-all we know is that she’s aware of baams “destiny”, as long and difficult and heartbreaking of a journey it may be. *Something* is the source of Rachel’s desires, desires so human no one can dispute, in a world were the weak die (remember Hoh) and the strong devour-AND THEN Rachel goes a step further when she does such cruel things Out. of. Pettiness... like exploding Khun’s heart, and stabbing Dan’s legs, and killing Arkraptor. - BUT THATS NOT ALL. Even after all of that, after she’s been confronted by Baam for hurting Khun, and tossed aside by fate again. After Baam finally cuts all ties with her, she does something strange. She seeks to RETIE herself to Baam. She gives him a slice of info and states how “he now has a reason to continue chasing after her”, and then the reader for a second time ask, why? Is this cut of ties not what she’s wanted for so long? Hasn’t Baam chase for her, actively ruined some of her plans of getting stronger? Why does she desire to keep Baam attached to her? And that adds ANOTHER layer of depth. A mere spiteful and jealous person wouldn’t do that. She’s something more. Maybe she secretly desires someone looking towards her as a star and end destination? Maybe she’s trying to lead Baam up the tower? Maybe this entire story so far has been planned by her, Arlene, and the god outside? Maybe there was a plan but when Baam chases *her* instead of vice versa, she can pretend and feel like she *IS* the heroine of the story; the protagonist. We still don’t know, but to ME - that is what depth is. Depth is where there is “meaning behind the madness”- when there is more than the surface level actions and thoughts-when there’s a history and a background, and maybe a future destination. That’s complexity. That’s depth

Michael Nwazue I truly respect your opinion, but let’s view it from this angle, her being a mother figure to Baam could have been nothing more than her manipulating him getting to explore the cave where Baam was held and finding the gate into the Tower, we did get a flashback before she boarded the train of her asking Baam to show her where “Three Eyed Mountain” is. Then her getting Baam to keep chasing after her could have been nothing more than her not wanting to set him free to completely pursue his fate. If what Rachel truly wanted was someone who viewed her as their universe, she already had that and didn’t think twice about tossing it down the trash. Rachel was Baam’s sole purpose for entering the Tower, so everyone from Hedon to Hansung & Hwaryun had to manipulate the circumstances to get Baam to go up the Tower and kickstart his journey, looking at the bigger picture Rachel was being led by the nose from the very beginning, she really thought they did it all for her when it was actually the opposite, so I don’t think she has any grandiose reasons for doing what she does. She’s a person driven by the worst of human instincts, which is fine I guess considering the first murder of another human being was committed by a brother killing his own brother out of nothing but jealousy (Kane & Abel).

I really enjoy the “planting of the seeds” with the name dropping and meeting the actual characters later. I think it was to my advantage to binge the webtoon since the names are still fresh in my mind. I was mind blown when Urek Mazino was introduced. And I was excited that Evankhell showed up. Like Evanhkell hasn’t been back to the Floor of Test for almost a decade and finally shows back up only to get fired lol

What all was left out? I only know of the developments between Bam and Endorsi. Also I heard they go more in depth about the team roles like the "fisherman" and "spear bearer" stuff.

​@@AwkwardlyAnimated Rachels character got messed by adding some cringyass guilty scene for her in the anime while in the manhwa she was stone cold. The dialouge between baam evan and yuri were much more depth at the beginning of the chapter. They didnt mention what bang is which is a very important aspect to the series later on. They didnt include the infos on urek mazino by yuri. Kurdan was shown as a brute strength guy when attacking lo po bia ren while in the manhwa he used some sort of shinsu to attack. Lo po bia ren did not died cause that is not his original body which was clearly stated in the manhwa but anime excluded it. Baam getting saved by the navigator after rachel pushed him was shown in the anime while in the manhwa they delivered us nothing perfect to keep the readers in suspense. There r also quite more but right now i not remenbering. The manhwa is a god tier stuff and the more u will read the more ur jaw started dropping. But the anime rushed it like someone was biting up their ass.

For the most part I didn't like that they made Bam look like a weak character. Yes, in season 1 of the Webtoon he was a weak character compared to others but at least they showed that he had more potential than everyone around him. For example, in the webtoon Ren was trying to teach bam to control more than one bang and bam managed to make 2 but it quickly went away and he said it was hard to do. But then Ren told him that when he was learning to control bangs people called him a genius for being able to control a bang after a couple of years of learning of them. Then he points out that Bam managed to do the same within just a few weeks and as such be should be called a "super genius" or "the king of geniuses". Or the part where Hoh and bam are talking and Hoh shows him how he controls shinsu and bam calls him talented. But then lauroe stands up and teaches Bam to do a bang and bam managed to do it within a few seconds. Then Lauroe leaves by saying "THAT is true talent" and Hoh is left surprised (* insert surprised pikachu face*). Or that one quote that Quant says after Bam copied his skill after seeing it once and after Hoh killed himself. I believe that the quote was somewhere among the lines of: "They all want to go up even through betrayal and abandonment. But it's ridiculous that God chose this boy who's crying because he lost a friend and not a rival. But if that talent of his is real, he can't go with them anyway because even if he's still just a baby tiger he can't run around with the house cats" (something like that...this is not the exact quote but it's somewhere along these lines)

Well...its not confirmed that the tower in-itself is on a planet. It probably dosen't have a "physcial form" in the outside world, and the gate probably randomly appears for worthy people which connects to the tower. The tower is still the most important part of the story, more important than the "outside world" seeing the initial dialouge by Headon.

From what we know about the size of each floor is that the outer parts of the tower on the floors are the size of North America alone so that’s not including the middle parts of the tower on the floors and the inner parts of the floors

And if you learn more about Talez Uzers world you’ll learn that there are multiple towers and there is a whole multiverse

That's when the webtoon company started. The series has been ongiong since 2010, but webtoon didn't start until June, 2014.

I meant like the official reunion of them seeing Bam again. Pretty much around the time when Bam, Rak, and Khun get back together and fight Reflejo.
