Could be an Eevee HA, we had the cute, but useless, Eevee Gigantamax... if it had a overpowered support HA, buffing the partner eeveelution could be interesting
I'd wanna buff Chi-Yu as I think it's the weakest of the Eeveelutions It doesn't even have ears, so I think it should get the ability soundproof to counter all the Palafins running boomburst
Hello Aaron, thak you for the content. PS: I know it may be a bit not cool to ask, but in case you want feedback, i love the new style of videos, with the team overview, at the begining, however, im missing a lot having two videos with each team. I enjoyed the process of getting a feeling of the team, and process it in the back to see the next day the second part in which i actively think of more strategies.
@Johten yeah without solar blade, leaf blade is its best option for grass STAB. Giving it access to flower trick would be great as it would hit way harder with the guaranteed crit, it would definitely be a slower and more frail meowscarada, but it's a much needed upgrade imo
To answer the question at 37:45 - "Would Vital Spirit block Yawn immediately?" In fact, in just your previous video with Dachsbun, at 19:53 in that video, you had that interaction: It blocks the Yawn immediately. However, worth noting - on Pokémon Showdown, there's currently a difference on how it works, since it applies the "Drowsy" status, and then just removes it the next turn on a mon with Vital Spirit, with no message in the chatlog
I feel like they should’ve made a unique move to all Eeveelutions like how starters get the Pledge moves, just have it be a move that works if you have a different Eeveelution next to you.
Just giving Trick Room to Umbreon would increase his presence massively. A prankster immune, Fake Out immune, very tanky setter with decent enough supporting moves to pressure.
I’d love to see Leafeon get a buff, it’s already pretty decent, but if it got access to Solar Blade, and maybe solar power/chlorophyll, I think it’d make a great addition to sun teams
It finally happened yall. So Hyped to watch this one! Now if only we could get Ghost and dragon Eeveelutions. Also give this mana sub yall. He is so close to 200k!
A Pokémon with faster and stronger blizzards and icy winds than bundle in snow sounds terrifying and as an ice type enjoyer I love it. It’d also be deceptively physically tanky with the natural defense stat plus snow boost. Pretty much just bundle v2 lol
QOTD: as someone who made an eeveelution team for series 1/2, the one thing I really missed was redirection. If I could have follow me umbreon or rage powder leafeon, it would have made it so much easier to use. A close second would be a slightly larger movepool. Since most eeveelutions usually only get a few moves related to their type along with eevee's moves, they tend to struggle with coverage options. For example, the only moves leafeon can hit steel with are bite and double kick (technically also shadow ball but that’s a special move). In this generation, tera blast can help but it’s not ideal.
I would love Leafeon to get a buff to its coverage options. Moves such as Aqua Tail, Night Slash, or Play Rough all make enough sense for it to learn and would also allow it to hit many more things supereffectively
QoTD: Rather than pick one, I'm gonna buff them all in one fell swoop. I think changing one of the base 65 stats to a base 80. It would help make them bulkier or speedier, and just help all of them with their overall viability imo.
I always love seeing Leafeon on a team. Since all the Eeveelutions got Calm Mind this gen I built a silly special Leafeon set next to Torkoal with Solar Beam because for some reason you cant do the same thing physical because it doesnt get Solar Blade
QOTD: I would make each Eeveelution get an ability that helps with type-based synergies. Drizzle, ESurge, Drought, PSurge, Dark Aura, Snow Warning, GSurge and Fairy Aura Btw, this idea isn't mine, it is from Pokémon Sweltering Sun
QOTD: I would want Glaceon to have Slush Rush over Snow Cloak. We don't have a special attacker with Slush Rush so it could fill a niche on snow teams. Flareon needs a lot of love. Giving Guts to a Fire pokemon was a mean joke. It also needs better move coverage, like maybe Solar Blade since it's pokedex entry keeps mentioning it storing energy. I would also give it Rock Head or any of the bite moves.
First!! Hi aaron, love your videos. They are so much fun tu watch and all the analisis you give us is so wonderfull. Ill keep ok watching and supporting ;)
Glaceon could probably see like overnight benefits in vgc if it got slush rush, then maybe freeze dry and surf to round out whatever spread blizzards don't do
Flareon and Glaceon are so far behind the rest of the pack. For Flareon, i think switching its special attack with either its speed or hp would be nice. But it also needs some good physical fire attack. Im thinking an extreme speed like attack but fire type. Glaceon is similar, just too slow and frail. Maybe having snow warning as a new ability for it. Maybe with Aurora Veil and (again) another extreme speed like attack but special and ice type. Or maybe a healing move and a move to increase speed, like agility but something more thematically better. As im typing this, i was thinking it what if Eevee had a special ability, like rockruff, and it evolves into eeveelutions with abilities like rain dance, electric terrain, sunny day, etc.
My favorite Eeveelution is Flareon. It would take a lot to make it good in VGC. Unless it were to receive an enormous speed buff, I think I'd give it more bulk on the physical side so that it could have a potential niche as a set up physical sweeper under Trick Room.
QODT: for all eeveelution Vaporeon = Flip turn Jolteon = snarl and electroweb Flareon = Close combat and rock slide Espeon = Mystical fire and aura sphere Umbreon = Sludge bomb and u turn Leafeon = Close combat and acrobatics Glaceon = Change ice body for slush Rush, and Dark Pulse Sylveon = give it back mystical fire, universal moves or egg moves = fake out, agility, swords dance, nasty plot, bulk up, taunt and feint
I have been waiting for you to try an all Eeveelution team I decided to see check what was new on RU-vid, before bed. Saw that you uploaded a video. My mood right now “Who needs sleep, sure not me”
I don’t know a good balanced way to buff the eeveelutions, other than maybe increasing their base stat total. I am however disappointed that we didn’t get a new eeveelution this generation. The whole past and future theme seems perfect to introduce perhaps rock and steel eeveelutions, or maybe dragon instead of rock.
If I were to buff any of the Eeveelutions... well, all of them deserve to be better (perhaps a signature move that has a specialized effect depending on the Eeveelution using it), but I'd focus on my favourite, Glaceon, and Flareon, the forever butt-monkey. I'd give Glaceon Slush Rush instead of Ice Body as HA (to match Leafeon's Chlorophyll) and move the 110 Def into Speed, then swap the SpDef with HP. A true glass cannon ice type instead of a "tanky" ice type. Flareon I'd also swap SpDef with Speed, and then make the SpA the HP stat. Basically physical Glaceon's stats lmao. Also give it a good physical Fire STAB. Something like Fire Lash or Blaze Kick (or perhaps the signature move idea above that gives it a 100BP 100Acc PhysFire move).
I would buff Glaceon by giving it Snow Warning/Aurora Veil. This is for no other reason than because I really, really want Wolfe Glick to get to #1 in the world with Glaceon again.
qotd: i'd buy an umbreon because i love rabbits and it seems really cuddly edit: just realised the qotd was how would you *buff* the eeveelutions not buy uh but i still stand by my point :p
They could give Eevee and its evolutions a signature move that mimics their current type, hits specially (since they're all typed around OG special types before the split), and uses their highest current stat in the damage calculation; sort of like a weird cross between Tera Blast and Photon Geyser, but taking ALL stats into consideration to work well on any Eevee evolution. Alternatively, the move could instead match type and increase your lowest stat by 2 stages? That could really help patch up bad Speed or Defenses that hold a few of these mons back. They should also give them back some of the good moves they've lost over time (Umbreon's Toxic, Vaporeon's Flip Turn, Leafeon's Solar Blade, etc.) Good, (mostly) thematic abilities to add or replace bad ones: Eevee - Friend Guard, Prankster, Costar Vaporeon - Storm Drain, Drizzle, Marvel Scale, Regenerator Jolteon - Electric Surge, Lightning Rod, Galvanize Flareon - Drought, Fur Coat, Thermal Exchange, Sheer Force Espeon - Psychic Surge, Opportunist, Competitive Umbreon - Shadow Tag, Oblivious, Filter Leafeon - Grassy Surge, Sharpness, Seed Sower Glaceon - Snow Warning, Refrigerate, Slush Rush Sylveon - Misty Surge, Sweet Veil, Dancer
My first idea is to just give Eevee more coverage or utility. Buffs for everyone!~ (Big fan of the Eevee line, but I never touch online or anything because I'm cheap. So what experience I have with them, has nothing to do with VGC.) If I had to buff any single Eeveelution, though. I'd either give more coverage to Jolteon (sad that they took away its good Bug-type Move recently), or a decent no-recoil physical Fire-type Move to Flareon so it doesn't knock itself out literally every turn if/when you try to use it in Tera Raid Battles. (No, I'm not salty, what are talking about?)
Id buff Vaporeon by changing its water absorb ability into storm drain, then give it 10-20 base stat points in phy DEF. Either by taking from speed and attack stat, or just a straight buff of stats.
QOTD: Give Espeon an ability that sets/reverses trick room when it hits the field. Have it function like drought and active after every swap and let chaos reign or nerf it by making it only occur once per battle.
I would definitely buff Flareon. For years, it's been the undisputed worst of all the Eeveelutions. The trouble is I'm not exactly sure what I'd do to buff it, I think the biggest problem Flareon faces is just its movepool and its really weird stat distribution. If you swapped its SpAtk into it's HP or Def it would be far better maybe? Edit: Or give it Reckless, anything but Flashfire/Guts. Flashfire is...ok I guess? But Guts is absolutely useless on a fire type (since it can't get burned)
I love the eeveelutions. I would totally buff there stats and give them better coverage movesets. But an eeveelution team without flareon? Why not just use the other eeveelution like espeon or glaceon
So I would personally buff sylveon and I will make it get access to mystical fire and access to Moonlight both of these moves make sense because fairy types are known to be someone connected to the moon and it already learns moon blast so why not Moonlight and it did have mystical fire previous generation so why doesn't have it now
Flareon can get pretty strong, but that requires a lot of setup. Case in point your team has chi yu instead. I wonder hpw flareon would do if it had access to drought or maybe an ability like pixilate but for fire.
Flareon is just an objectively better choice for the team than Chi Yu on a team with this makeup in a format where Flutter Mane is so dominant. It wasn't the best choice of Eeveelutions to leave off for this format.
Flareon needs a buff. Like, more hp and defense stats or give it fur coat, give it some good physical fire moves other than flair blitz, give it some good ground moves like earthquake, bulldoze, or stomping tantrum, maybe even a setup move like swords dance or howl would be useful as well. I don’t know exactly what it needs, I just know it’s frail and it doesn’t have a ton of damage output and it’s slow lol so either increasing its defenses and making it a wall or offenses and making it a sweeper
I think I would buff the eeveelutions by giving them weather and terrain abilities as well. Glaceon for example could then work as a pretty physically bulky hail setter that doesn't have a 4x weakness to fire.
To buff all the eeveelutions, I'd give them all a move called Evo-blast or something like that, which is a 100 base power, 100 accuracy move that copies the primary typing of the user and uses physical or special attack, whichever is higher. Basically a better terra blast that works without terastalizing. Also, flareon should get something to make it more like the goldfish, plus stat buffs and better abilities
When this video came out yesterday I clicked just to see what the full team was but I didn’t watch much. This morning on ladder I came across the team and thought : dang it it I had watched the video I would know what to expect. It ended up being a pretty easy win on my end tho.
