Red Bull Seb I was never a big fan of, because he was so focused and driven to the point of arrogance. Then he appeared on Top Gear and you saw that there was a hilarious fun guy when the helmet was off. I loved him ever since. Recent years he's been the only F1 driver to actually make a stand, rather than say other people need to make a stand, and I loved him ever more. Like Kimi before him and Alonso after him, he's the last of the fun breed of drivers who aren't managed to a millionth degree to thank the sponsors and be nice. Quality human being. He'll be missed.

my favorite Seb fact is he holds the fastest penalty to be earned, six seconds into his career at Istanbul for speeding in the pitlane

I still haven't fully processed it. Been a huge Fan since I can remember as I always watched the races with my father (& am German). As much as I understand his reasons, it's still a very big miss in the paddock and I can just hope that he pulls a Schumi in a few Years...

2011 and 17 are probably my favorite Vettel seasons but I have to say; the guy is just legendary!! Only see Schumacher; Hamilton; Fangio, Senna and Prost as drivers with better career.

The first F1 race I watched was the 2012 Indian GP and I started supporting him since then. Its quite weird to see him leave this sport, but I'll cherish all the great memories

While I’m not his biggest fan, it’s still sad to see Vettel go, he definitely brought something to the sport that many didn’t, it will be interesting to see who takes the seat

I for one loved the ‘multi 21’ incident…no driver should apologize for winning…’I was faster, I passed him, I won’. Boom. End of story.

i would definitely say that the 2018 Ferrari was not the fastest car on the grid, especially towards the later half of the year, where Mercedes were quicker at pretty much every track

Would like some proof that 2018 was the fastest car. It wasn't. BUT, Vettel should've finished very close to Hamilton and not like 80 points behind. The team also made quite a lot of mistakes. Suzuka, Singapore, Austria...

As a new fan of the sport, this cleared so much more stuff for me about Seb. I'll admit that I'm one of those that never really cared about Seb since I only started watching F1 full time in 2020 and he isn't performing well. Then there is those "sbinalla" memes that gave me the perception that Seb was just a spin-prone car merchant for his entire admittedly illustrious career. Obviously, Seb is much more than that. One of the greats for sure. Thank you for giving me another perspective about him.

About the cucumber comment with Kartekeyan: That comment was make in German and he called him "Gurke", the German word for cucumber and it roughly translates to 'someone pootling about. It is also use as a verb 'rumgurken', which mean pootling around aimlessly and erratically. Since the original comment was filled with slang, the English translation made no sense.

I know this is kinda of 'definition of boring F1' but it would be interesting to see a video about, how the 2010's championships would have went if the pole man for a race had always won that race. 🤔👍

Always a downer when a driver you grew up watching leaves the sport. I'm sure he's is going to go on to do great things and without Seb Aston are really going to be least likeable team on the grid next year.

Vettel going on his own terms is the best news for him. Last thing he wanted to do is become a Damon Hill where he is forced out and wasting a decent car. Not that I'm saying that the Aston is a decent car...
@PolishEddie1992
@PolishEddie1992 2 года назад
I really hope that is the case. I hope that Aston Martin didn't let him go because they wanted to make room for a rookie or someone else so if Seb left on his own accord that's the perfect way to go

I'll keep saying it, you should always compare drivers to their teammates If you think Raikkonen was good, that means Vettel was very good since he beat him every year they were in the same team "bUt RaIkKoNeN wAs OlD", like hell he was, Hamilton is still faster than Russel (hard to admit Hamilton haters, but it's the truth), Alonso is still faster than Ocon (again, hard to admit Alonso haters but it's the truth), so being 40 is not an excuse.

Vettel= Red Bull Drivers legend; He will always be remembered as a Red Bull driver and not a Ferrari driver; In himself he was competitive in Ferrari but like many others driving the Maranello red car; Consequently, if Vettel won so much it was precisely thanks to Red Bull and there where he gave his best by winning and specifically by winning against Ferrari especially in 2010 and 2012 and also in 2013 there was a battle and consequently I As a Ferrari fan I see him more as a great and respectable opponent and and not like a Ferrari driver!

I’ve seen him win in person twice (which is twice more than my beloved Jenson Button). I missed meeting him at Silverstone 2007 by 5 minutes, I’ve always been a huge fan of his. And as a Queer person I naturally love his allyship.
