Hi! My name's Peter and I make history videos about Formula 1. My area of expertise is everyone's favourite backmarker F1 teams. We're used to seeing the likes of Red Bull and Mercedes battling it out for the win every weekend, but have you wondered what's going at the back of the grid? Here I make long-form videos looking at the campaigns of minnow teams such as Super Aguri and HRT. We're talking every overtake, every pit stop, the whole nine yards, everything the TV cameras missed! I also enjoy doing ranking videos, but here I don't do top ten F1 drivers of the 2010s for example, I rank EVERY F1 driver of the 2010s! So click the subscribe button if you want to see more!

hello Peter, I have an idea for a new video for you. What if Formula 1 always gave every finishing driver points? So, very much Indycar-style. I believe there would be upsets in the WDCs and WCCs.
Hmm straight answer: NO. FIA conducted tests showed that the Halo failed preventing these simulated accidents: Ayrton Senna, Jules Bianchi, Maria de Villota and Felipe Massa. Halo failed ALL THEM.
Thank you, Mr. Peter Brook! 2010 is one of my childhood season in 2006-2013. #2010FIAFormulaOneWorldChampionship #2010Nostalgia 04/06/2024 22:30 Or 10:30 PM At My Local Time.
Great video but i disagree with Nigel Mansell at 5 - he belongs in the same category as Prost and Senna. Difficult to rank them all, Senna was obviously more skilled, Prost was more thoughtful, but Mansell was an aggressive mad man and really should have had at least 2 probably 3 or 4 titles. Note: just realised this is 1990’s. If this was 1980’s and 1990’s then I’d have Mansell 3rd.
Ah yes, the most controversial topic of F1 history amongst the most diehard fans; Halo. I always hate how it was treated by fans and even by some of the drivers. It's there mainly and purposely to protect their head because it's the only body part that's sticking out of the car, not to change the looks of it.
One of my biggest pet peaves is Europeans complaining about America having more than one race like I guarantee the average Western European has at least 5 tracks closer to you than Than COTA is to me
Marko Asmer being mentioned makes this my favorite ever RU-vid video. EDIT: Asmer was still hired by BMW in 2009. According to Asmer and the Estonian press, he was not officially employed as the third driver but he still had a limited testing role
You've forgot mention about Zanvoort. Belgium Born, Monaco Living Max Verstappen And in your Nurbergring ring World Champion and all round Racist Nelson Piquet Pete
It kinda baffles me that the points system has changed so much over the years that it could actually completely change the outcome of a championship. Like surely the best, most successful driver of that year should win and whatever points system you use should have them on top.
As an engineer, the massive technical lack of understanding behind these ideas bothered me. It was not understood what the real reasons for today's situation are and the solutions offered here would make it worse.
12:00 His cars are still too big. The teams fly home between races, so his calendar doesn't save much. But yes: fewer races would be better. And fewer city circuits. Brook didn't understand the issues. Formula 1 is of such a high technical quality that there are hardly any more failures. That is the biggest difference from the past. In 1992, for example, Senna only finished in 8 of 16 GPs. Free regulations and no budget cap would make everything worse; the small teams would have no theoretical chance at all.
I have to quibble with the halo not saving Petersen's life. What killed Ronnie was a delay in treatment, which is believed to have led to the conditions of him developing a fat embolism. The delay was caused by the concerns over the other driver who, if fine, would mean Petersen would be treated first, and may well have lived.
