There is this cool little detail most people miss, but when yang goes rage against mercury as he is walking away he mouths "showtime" the details in this series is AWESOME

So lots of info is dumped on to these episodes. If you didn’t notice Mercury’s legs are mechanical which also explains why his legs were bleeding when Cinder and Emerald first met him. Something else I’d suggest paying attention to are those hallucinations along with the sound effects that comes when they’re activated. It’s helps out a lot and you might be able to pinpoint who is creating them. Love your reactions

Mercury losing was all part of their plan. He would easily beat Yang if he was allowed to.

Winning Vytal is (as far as we’re shown), just a symbolic thing, like an Olympic medal. It’s more a symbol of international unity, all the schools coming together for friendly competition. Pyrrha’s list of fairy tales are in-universe ones written for the show. There’s a book and a spin off show but as an example; The Shallow Sea is a Faunus folktale about their own creation. I wouldn’t watch or read any of it until you’re done with volume 4. Blake not recognising Cinder; it was dark, she only saw her from the back, and she’s only seen Cinder wear a Haven uniform or her brown combat gear. Qrow not recognising Cinder; Emerald’s illusion semblance was blurring their faces and again, Cinder doesn’t wear her red dress at Beacon. He presumably sent his “Queen has pawns” text to Ozpin soon after this fight. Remember also that Cinder took HALF of the power before Qrow broke the connection, so only one of her eyes lights up. She also has Grimm inside her, worth remembering too.

26:57 Blake didn't see them close up, so she didn't know who they are when they showed up for the Vytal Festival. 31:09 In case you missed it - that is the visual representation of someone's Aura breaking. Once this happens, they are as vulnerable as a normal person. This will happen a lot in future episodes, as the main time when Aura is needed as a defense is in combat - which is why, when someone's Aura breaks, it does so at the worst possible time. If you wanna know more about the stories of the maidens, I suggest you watch World of Remnant Maidens which will put more detail on that story. Keep in mind that Cinder, Mercury, and Emerald planned all of this. They never really wanted to win the tournament. It was to create the perfect scenario to cause so much negativity to attract the Grimm (which we see the Grimm reacting and looking towards the Amity Colosseum right after everybody reacted to seeing Yang attack Mercury) and make it all the more easier for Cinder to get what she wants (the remaining half of the Fall Maiden's power). Emerald's semblance helps her cast illusions to anybody she targets which is how she tried to fool Amber and than later used on Yang who was tricked into attacking Mercury thinking he attacked her first that it makes it look to the rest of the world that she attacked him for no good reason. Emerald than fooled those two paramedics in thinking Mercury is really hurt by making them see blood when in reality he has metal legs that can be easily fixed. And one thing you clearly missed was that Qrow didn't see their faces because Emerald managed to blur them so Qrow didn't get a good look on who the assailant was that attacked Amber. Also, Blake didn't see those three because they left and were pretty far away by the time she appeared and not to mention they were wearing different outfits at the time so Blake couldn't have figured it out it was them. And last but not least.... this is just the beginning where everything starts to get GRIMM. Have fun! :D

Don't worry. After the next few episodes, everyone forgets about the events of Yang and Mercury's fight.

I love watching people get to these episodes, the top of the volume 3 roller coaster.... we get so much information at once and the world starts to look different. "Why do they have to make all the characters in this show hot?" IKR! At one point an artist photoshopped away Ozpin's glasses in some of these scenes, and it's startling, without them he looks about 25. Add that to Ironwood's manly military cheekbones and Qrow's....everything, and it's a bit distracting from the dark situation they're describing. If you're looking for other shows to react to, maybe check out Helluva Boss, starting with the pilot episode? It's another one that's popular and creator-approved to post full-length reactions. Very edgy and adult, but also very funny - the impeccable comic timing kept me laughing through the most "they just did WHAT?" moments, and then unexpectedly it turned into a real story and made me care about the characters far more than expected. Good stuff.

If Cinder's allusion is Cinderella, then I'm pretty sure her lines in the start of episode 7 ("I want to be strong, feared, powerful") are her making wishes to a fairy godmother. And she is going to the ball, or at least having a ball.

To help you understand some of you haven't figured it out, Emerald can cast illusions make people see things that aren't there, it's how she tricked Yang and everybody in the arena. Also that little scene of the group of Grimms they're attracted to negative emotions, let's just say lots of negativity after the Yang incident.

I really enjoy watching your God of War streams, and wanted to suggest if you haven't played the Horizon Zero Dawn games. They are definitely a must for any playstation or PC player! Also can't wait for your next RWBY reaction!

Something that you need to understand why the whole tranfer the magic situation is so stressful and disgusting for Phyrra: Aura is not just the ki/chakra/cosmos/ fuel to use super powers, aura is synonymus for soul, this group sect-like is talking about take someone's soul and put it in her body by force, blending both, Amber's and Pyrrha's soul in the process, what will happend to Amber's being? She would rest in piece or she would become just mere power for Pyrrha? And what will happen to Pyrrha's soul too? Her memories will be the same? Her personality? Her feelings? Amber and Pyrrha could cease to exist forming something else? It's truly terryfing.

I love getting to watch someone see all of this for the first time! ❤ I’m sure you’ve heard, but volume 9 is starting pretty soon. It would probably be impossible to record and edit reactions to everything before Feb 18, but you might be able to catch up by the end of the new volume (mid April). In the very beginning of this video, you were talking about what happens if you win the tournament - do you gain eternal glory and admiration or something. In these two chapters, you can now see that Cinder and her subordinates are not interested in winning the tournament, it was never about that. Cinder is after something far greater than that: true, absolute, unimaginable magic power. And if she gets it, it's not going to end well for the world of Remnant. You'd be wise not to underestimate or mess with Cinder Fall.

The fairy tales that Pyhrra talks about at the beginning exist in full, there's a real book called Fairy tales of Remnant that has them.

The color crystals are called dust which allows them to use magic but no one can usually magic without it so thats why it’s such a surprise and you looked away but Emerald illusion power distorted Cinder face so Qrow didn’t see how she looks lol
