Hey Mac, I'm from Kolkata, actually, the Howrah Bridge is a commercial area. People are busy over there always commuting. the guy that came from behind you actually was trying to grab your attention and yes he unfortunately is a homeless insane person. sorry about your experience. If you want a place where you can just sit and relax then I would suggest you go to Millennium Park which is very close to your hotel beside the river

That person who try to snatch your pocket and was literally begging for the role which you are eating which is called egg roll in which there is chapati vegetables and egg which eating, is nothing but a very shameful act by that person. What exactly happened let me tell you. The place for hangout is not safe for having food because I doubt the hygiene and I have been there are multiple times like hundred plus times and I don't eat food from there atleast. Now coming to the person, those persons are considered as labours because they do nothing, whole day they just roam around, do something else (smoking etc) and when they saw you thinking a foreigner means firangi means lots of money now it's easy way to snatch you and you are eating something so that was easy for him to get that from you. You should ideally do not give him anything hardly you can hand over him Indian 50 rupees that's enough and if he was disturbing more then you should head over to the local traffic police and start complaining. Now if you are coming back again let me give you some guidance- Remember that this place is 40% covered by labour class people so you will be treated as someone who is very rich and everybody will try to snatch money from you! So when you are coming back just enter the railway station, find a safe place on the street where these people r very less and then enjoy. If you are having trouble then you can have me I won't be charging anything from you and I will be your tourist local guide without any fee max2max if you want to offer anything then you can sponsor my tour the traveling which I will do with you that is fine but not more than that and also if you can help me to visit a country then that is really appreciable! Moreover I am interested in having a international girlfriend so if you can help me to get a girlfriend from your country than that is extremely good luck!

Sorry for your adrenaline experience in the busy road, but in general there are several beautiful places in the city to go for in a day trip or a 2 day trip. Must visits, Vidyasagar setu, Princep ghat, national library, national museum, boat ride on ganges from near princep ghat area to howrah bridge, tibetan breakfast at tiretti bazar (poddar court), walk in the park street area explore cafes( flurys must try). Biryani_Arsalan Park circus 7 point musttry. Walk through Kumartuli artisans district, Birla temple, Birla planetarium, Victoria memorial, Dakshineshwar temple and Belur Math by ferry, College street bookwalk and coffeehouse..you'll love it! Enjoy the summer🎉 but be careful with the crowd and traffic! Greetings from Germany❤

Hi Mac, rightly said " never accept the 1st price in India " But always remember this too, never buy from the 1st shop you enquire at, ask their best deal, leave the shop after knowing their best deal. Then go visit other shops, do a research and after that decide from whom to buy. When in India never hesitate to bargain. But ur bargaining skills are great 👍

If you ever visit the Maidan Market again, always buy jerseys and other stuff from the shops inside the market courtyard, there are entire sections of the market with similar shops lined together for each item - jerseys, cricket equipments, football equipments and so on. You'll always get a much better and realistic price inside. The ones on the footpath, like where you bought the 1st jersey from always have a higher price and also lower quality of products. May you have a better experience and a fun trip ahead.

Hi, good to see you in my city. Snatching is expected especially at the station areas like Howrah and Sealdah. But most of the places are safe. It’s true you will find these people every part in the world , especially in densely populated cities. I have been in US for 5 yrs, and now in Bay Area even we experienced worst cases in Sf downtown and Oakland.

I wasted my time visiting 🇮🇳 india back in the day the place is an upturned dumpster. I spent most of my time there thinking of things I could be doing at home, lol. It's seriously filthy. My advice is to hit thailand instead. 😂

He was an insane..homeless.. Guy..Who was looking for the food.. Meanwhile u happened to be in front of him.. It's a city of joy.. A beautiful city with helpful people around.. Plz come and visit again..
