Young bodies are miraculously able to handle awful "food" choices. But a few decades down the road, when your body starts failing, you wish you had made smarter eating choices. Excess sodium is probably OK when working hard in the desert. It's better to avoid pigging out on empty carbs, sugar, or chemicals you can't pronounce. I suggest procuring food at a food market, even if it takes a separate stop from fueling up.
@warpedweirdo
@warpedweirdo 2 года назад
@@-mkg6982 Lol, that formaldehyde thing is way, way overblown. There are far worse things you can do to yourself - drinking alcohol, for example. Any formaldehyde you get from breakdown of aspartame is trivial compared to the formaldehyde your body naturally produces and uses. Ingesting aspartame doesn't lead to depression or cancer either. Also note that you would need to consume 17 cans of diet soda within 24 hours to reach levels deemed unacceptable by the FDA. Drinking 120oz + of diet soda in a day will give me a headache, but this isn't related to aspartame, as both Diet Coke (aspartame) and Diet Pepsi (sucralose) have the same effect. Too much caffeine? Too much liquid? Too much carmel color? Who knows. I do know that my headache frequency has gone down quite a bit since I've cut back on the diet sodas. I will say that I much prefer aspartame in my diet soda, because the sweetness doesn't stick around inside my mouth, embedded in every nook and cranny of my tongue, for endless hours. I wish Diet Pepsi would go back to aspartame. (On a side note, many soda fountains dispensing Diet Pepsi get the mix wrong now. The soda come out 70% fizz and foam, the end result being near-flat Diet Pepsi - yuck. I suspect this is a result fountains not being adjusted after the formula change.) I drink massive amounts of unsweetened tea now. What happens when I drink too much? My mouth goes a bit dry. Strange, right? I guess the key takeaway is this: practice moderation.

The landscape seems different than usual, all of which is awesome compared to the rolling hills I'm used to. The rock face at 2:43 looks like man has squared off the front for some reason and then at 2:59 it looks like melted plastic has ran down over the rocks. You guys are used to it but it's great that you show us these unusual sights on the way to your rescue's for those of us that have never been there. I can't believe that your customer's are not totally shocked when you show up in a corvair of all things, filled with happy, polite, people, sometimes with dogs, cameras and then overall make it a good experience for them and even a shirt to remember the adventure by and talk about for years to come.. Around here you call for a tow and a commercial built truck of some type shows up with one grumpy driver, that is usually in a hurry and acts like you are putting him out for just showing up. You definitely have a one of a kind recovery business that is on it's way to 1 million subscribers which goes to show that you are doing something right using the combination of knowledge, kinetics, a whole bunch of common sense and a great crew.

Your videos are always interesting with the type of calls you get. Plus Matt's idea of getting to a call quickly usually means a bumpy ride for the team. I am really impressed with Lizzy and the positive strides she has made she is more confident and you can tell is completely comfortable on Camera now especially with doing the outro's and adding in her Lizzyisms as I call them

When I first got my 95 suburban years ago, I got sucked into a sidehill situation like the older fellow. I turned into it, and just dropped all the way in. Turns out winter tires are really good in mud - after my confused wife drove by in our van, I just drove to a farmers field entrance and popped right out. And it was in 2wd still. Alberta mud is similar to that lake mud, so I was lucky that I only sunk about 5-6 inches in and stayed off the pumpkin.
