Secondly, I got married 3 years ago and spent a lot of time and energy focusing on decorations and table settings, but on the day of I barely noticed them so I would say dont spend too much time stressing about them. My other piece of advice is to hire at least one photographer and also a videographer. 💛

Congratulations and many blessings. May I give a little advice? Remember that the wedding is one day but the marriage is for a lifetime. I had a huge wedding. However, if I had to go back in time…I would have a small intimate wedding. And you are right…Gospel filled wedding/loving and together. When I marry people this is what I tell them when I counsel them before the wedding. There were two weddings that were amazing that I officiated and they were lovely, simple and Jesus centered.

Congratulations! I cried at your proposal. My wedding was in May of this year. It was very small because my husband to be was in the end stage of lung cancer, my husband passed in August, it was a beautiful ceremony. My best friend made my bouquet, she does floral arrangements and wedding bouquets. I told her what I wanted and she knew me so well that it was perfect. She included a beautiful crystal cross hanging from the ribbon. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get your dress because of alterations take a while.

Also, I’m loving the Christ centered wedding idea!

My top tip, don't spend too much. The wedding is just one day, your money is better used to save for life after the wedding.

God bless sister and congrats! I recently made my 1st year married on the 23rd. Our wedding was the most intimate and humblest wedding I could ever imagine. We were blessed to barely have paid a thing for our wedding (we were struggling financially and the Lord really had his hands on us through this time). It was done at our friend's father's church who didn't charge us. Though it barely cost us a penny because it was just our parents, siblings, and some of my husband's musician friends. We also didn't have a big party. We headed back to my house and ordered some food and played live music for the night. My dress was thrifted and the only expensive thing was the flowers! It was definitely a humbling time and I feel that the Lord really showed me what a Christ centered wedding actually is. We can get lost in the big things of planning and get so focused on a dream wedding that the world has outlined for us and I just want to say trust in the Lord through the entire process. Don't worry about impressing others or trying to make them happy because what matters is your union with Johnny and the intimacy of that day.

Girl best wedding advice KISS (keep it simple stupid) small, simple weddings are the best! they're meaningful to you and enjoyable without spending a ton on entertaining others.

Congrats lady! I got married a little over a year ago. I recommend you take it one piece at a time. Anytime you start to feel overwhelmed take a step back. As a anxious lady it was very important to take small steps cause I had panic attacks during the planning. Also the more details=more complicated as a general rule. The main focus should be on what you guys really want to do and don’t let other people try to butt into what your wedding should be like. ❤️

We spent £3000 on our wedding all in. Small church and reception. Was the best wedding (even my mother in law said). Advice keep it how you both want the wedding and on the day especially at wedding take a step back and watch everyone. I got given this advice and glad i did. Seeing everyone enjoying the Joy of the day made me cry happy tears. Seeing all those you love bonding and enjoying is just such joy. Enjoy the planning part. Sending love in christ. Congratulations!!!!! My top tips: We kept it simple. We "eloped" and had just our parents and my doggie (now our dog and would have had sibilings if we had them, but we're only children), it was outside in a gazebo in the town square (strangers were able to watch too) and then we went out to eat at our favorite restaurant. Then you don't have to pay for a bunch of people and can have a party later. We also got married in white shirts and jeans and beanies that said "Mr. And Mrs." 🤗😘❤️ Good luck!!! Aww congratulations I loved the proposal vlog! 💛💛💛🕊 I could talk forever about planning for a wedding! But the best advice I heard and heeded to was prepare for the marriage not only for the wedding! And we did get a lot out of Christian pre-marital counseling just about expectations, fears, family history, future plans, dating, etc! A lot of people say communication is #1 in marriage, and while that’s important, my husband and I feel love is truly #1. “But the greatest of these is love.” That dedication, sacrificial giving, intentional choice to be loyal and work together as a unified team, 1 Cor 13:7 was our marriage verse! We did a video about tips that kept our wedding under $5k. Our fav part was showing the love of Christ to those guests. But most of all, we really loved our honeymoon just us and at an all inclusive where we didn’t have to worry about anything and got to simply relax and rest together, it was just the best of all! I really appreciate girl defined’s advice for the wedding night and all that jazz lol! If I remember right, I think they have like retrospect advice about it (like looking back I’ve learned this, and I find that most helpful, from people who already experienced it and are further in their marriage journey now and look back and give their thoughts)! I know you love Psalm 119, and it’s my fav ch in the Bible! Dr. Jeff Adams has a beautiful fantastic commentary just for it and I know you’d love it too!

Some weddings drag on forever, to the point I really wanted to go home, but it was only half-way over because there were huge time gaps between events. FYI- If your markers are water-based, you can scribble them on a smooth surface and use them for watercolor.

I'm a wedding photographer and a major tip that I would have for most couples is to do your wedding portraits on another day if you have the funds. You're a lot less stressed, you can take your time and they come out more intimate imo!

I got married in November 2020, we had 8 people there. I almost wish we just went to the courthouse and then had a reception, instead of a ceremony. I don’t regret it at all. Especially because I’m the first one to wed in my moms family. We had a super simple wedding. Here are the top expenses we opted for: 1. Photography 2. Pastor we loved and trust 3. A wedding dress and suit we loved 4. Bouquet Everything else doesn’t matter haha

I totally agree that if Christ is you #1 focus for your wedding, that is most important. I also agree keeping things simple is the best. I have been to hundreds of weddings because of my job and so much money is spent on things that don’t reallllly matter. You both seem to have a good head on your shoulders. I personally picked things that I knew I could do myself and supplemented decor that way. Also join a garage sale/wedding decor Facebook page for your town or area. So many people sell items that can easily be reused for a huge discount like lights, table pieces, and decorations. Thrifting the supplies is helpful and it also looks real pretty, or like a potluck reception where everyone or specific people you want can bring a homemade dish and guests can bring their favorite plate to use! Saves money and leaves practically nothing for you to have to clean plus its just beautiful to see all the colors!

Hi Ashley, congratulations! I recently got married earlier this year. I wanted to share some of the money saving tips that helped when I had my wedding. Doing fake flowers was one money saver for me. Although I am such a flower child, I could not reason paying $800 and up for real flowers. I actually did solo wood flowers which you hand dye yourself. You can purchase these online and some websites even sell kits. Total I spend about $300 on the flowers. Also I did cupcakes for our guests and a small cake for the hubs and I, which we purchased from sam's club. The cake wasn't necessarily a huge priority and still tasted amazing. Other than that I would suggest booking venders asap once u have a location and date set. Also Hobby lobby was a winner when I was shopping for decorations. 😊. I mean out of all of your perfectly laid plans something won’t be “right”. It’s not about those things though. It’s all about becoming one with the love of your life. Huge congratulations! So happy for you both. The best advice I received before my wedding day was to spend as much time as possible with my husband on the day. Which might sound kind of obvious - it’s your wedding day, of course you’ll be together! But it’s easy to accidentally end up separated when speaking to guests, even at a small wedding. I kept this in mind on my wedding day and it meant my husband and I have a wealth of shared memories to draw from, as we consciously made an effort to stick together throughout. As for the wedding planning, know that the collective joy in the room is going to be what you remember and cherish! If plans go a little pear shaped, or if small details begin to cause you anxiety while planning, trust that everyone is there to celebrate you as a couple and they honestly won’t notice minor details like table decor. The outpouring of love from your family and friends is what will make it a wonderful, memorable, cherished day. It really is an incredible feeling, seeing the smiles on your loved ones faces and knowing they want nothing but the best for you both as you begin married life together. We had twelve people at our wedding and we hiked out to the beach where we had our first date exactly one year after meeting and it was amazing!! Make sure that it's special to you two and don't worry so much about all the overwhelming details - all that matters is the covenant you're making before God. The life you get to live after is so much more important! That being said, we didn't take a honeymoon and I would encourage you to do that! It doesn't have to be anything expensive or extravagant but you definitely need time just the two of you enjoying one another before real life sets in. God bless you both

I got married last April and they helped so much! A spreadsheet for lists of people to send announcements to (which i would highlight the box a color to show it was completed), finances/expenses, to do list, menu list/ideas, who’s doing what task, etc! I got married in March 2021. Don’t stress over the tiny details! I did, and didn’t even notice them the day of. The day will fly by so fast (I hardly remember my wedding day), so try to be present! If you can afford it, hire a videographer. For us, simple was perfect. We didn’t have parents pitching in, and we were able to have a beautiful and elegant, but simple wedding for around $5,000! Congratulations!!

It’s really easy to be wrapped up in wedding planning anytime you spend time with your fiancé, especially if you have a long distance relationship (talking from experience). Just make sure to have date nights or date days without discussing the wedding and focus on spending quality time with one another. 🙂

I’ve been watching you all since I was in college and decided to recommit my life to Christ but didn’t know what to do or how to even read my Bible-that was in 2017 and I have remained committed to my faith ever since and I’m now married to a godly man (2020)!! 💖 My top wedding tip is to choose a venue that is as all-inclusive as possible, meaning that they provide the ceremony location, the reception location, the food, the tables, the chairs, etc, etc, etc! My sister got married at my family farm and it was beautiful, and my best friend got married at a wedding venue that didn’t provide anything but the location, they were both BEAUTIFUL but they were a lot of work-to organize all those little and big details on your own and keep track of all those moving pieces. I got married at a resort on a lake, our ceremony and reception was there, they made the food onsite, guests stayed onsite, and they even had a wedding coordinator to help plan and execute the day of-the difference in terms of difficulty between mine and my sister/friends wedding was night and day!! And it doesn’t have to be too expensive! My whole wedding, everything included, was probably around $10,000 💖✨💕
