@@MilkyWayGrump Speaking of other franchises- The original premise of the Sonic series was an environmental one. Sega acquired Atlus... Blue haired protagonist? ''Freedom Fighters'' for the group name? LMAOOO
Yeah, Personas message is usually in line with internal conflict rather than external. Sure there are outside forces involved (death, murder, corruption) but at its core the "Persona" is a representation of the "other self" or the version of you that you hide from the world. This goes in tandem with Shadows which are the representation of humankinds desire, malice, apathy (it changes with each game). Ultimately the games are psychological, as nearly everything that happens in them is caused by either a single persons psyche or the mentality of the mass collective such as Nyx appearing due to apathy from the masses and places like mementos and tartarus existing. Idk how Nature would reflect the human psyche or "persona". It makes much more sense that it would be another internal struggle such as envy, unless nature would be tied to tragedy, change or acceptance of what you cant control, then I could get behind it.
I'd say Yu's hair is the color it is because the truth isn't black and white, like we'd prefer it be, but somewhere in the middle, hence gray. I only say that because the concept of finding your own truth is woven into every fabric of the game. The true ending quite literally has you reject the bow wrapped ending you'd get in many games and follow the nagging in the back of your mind until you find your own truth, or the real truth of the matter.
Persona 5 isnt about corruption- its about rebellion. Corruption is just an easy way to show that. Otherwise, like, Maruki isnt corrupt- he's using his power for what he believes to be a genuinely good cause. Otherwise, like, Joker rebells against the society that repeatedly mistreated him. Ryuji and Ann rebel against Kamoshida's abuse. Yusuke rebells against the art thievery. Makoto rebels against the idea that the mafia boss can get away with this and use them. Akechi rebells against Shido's abuse of everything and everyone, as well as the idea of Maruki being able to control everything and everyone. The story is about rebellion against that corruptuon- it would be the equivalent of Persona 4 being about the fog. Consider the color red- anger, blood. What do we call acts of anger against a force of power? An act of rebellion.
@@GerfdasGaming partially that, partially because it has a very different feel. corruption implies that it's the main focus, rather than the focus being on the people fighting against it
@@GerfdasGamingno no, I think they’re right. It’s about corruption to an extent but the main theme is definitely rebellion, lest you forget the whole “wings of rebellion breaking thy chains of captivity” and all that.
@@Macey88 Sure, but you can't have a theme of truth without exploring lies, or the fog that obscures that truth. You can't have rebellion without corruption. While persona 4 is about finding the truth hidden in the fog, 5 is about rebelling against the corruption in society. When I say ''-contrarion for the sake of being contrarion.'' That's not a statement on who's wrong or right; I'm saying that both statements hold true, and no matter which sort of 'theme'' you follow, it leads to the same conclusion. Of course I know the games focus more on the positive side (fighting against lies/corruption) but when formulating the video, I simply focused on the negatives. That's why at some point I also mentioned ''-among other things.'' It's also true that the ''yellow'' for Persona 4 has to do with happiness as well, given the game's overall ''upbeat'' feel. I can't fit that all in a 60 second short though 😅. Either way, apologies for the essay, thanks for engaging, and thanks for watching!
@@GerfdasGaming you can rebel without a valid cause, or with the intent purpose of creating corruption through your rebellion, decieving people to your cause (as much of why the american revolution got so far was because a few people served to gain a lot of economic benefits, and instate their form of corruption, as an example of this) Persona 5 has always been expressly about rebellion and steering your own course, freedom and the like, rather than about rebelling about anything in particular Red doesn't represent corruption, that would be purple, red represents a high energy, it's about being punchy, more than anything else
If the green is for nature Maybe persona 6 will talk about ruin, like when you leave a place alone for too long, the nature spread in this place, so the theme would be something like ''Abandon of things'' And so the protagonists could be idk rejected by hiz pzrents or something like that
This is actually really cool. It allows for a cool rural setting like p4 and maybe an interesting story about how choosing to deal with abandonment can bring you closer to others or make you a self-made outcast
@@backupschmliff1156 It often appears on the uniforms and supplies of armies globally. Just look up the army of any country and chances are they’re wearing green.
Could be. At this point the Velvet room could be anything. We starter with a room filled with instruments in P1 and P2IS/ET, an elevator in P3, a fucking limousine in P4(still have to get the correlation between searching the truth and a fucking limousine),and finally P5 being a Prison P.S. No Q and Q2 have not in fact a velvet room
There's something really funny to me about saying a spoiler warning for a game that not only hasn't been released yet, but something outside of a few broad leaks we really don't know the specifics of
You could cosplay as Junpei or Ikutsuki from P3 if you wear a hat for Junpei, or grow it out for Ikut. Or if you’re feeling g brace, you could dress as Takeba 😂
While the correlation to death is a bit more loose, blue is commonly associated with themes of sadness and depression. Persona 3 overall goes for a more somber tone with it's storytelling. I didn't ''dodge it.'' RU-vid shorts are 60 seconds long.
Blue does have connections to Greece and the underworld, so it makes sense. Greeks also offered payment to cross the waters of the afterlife and silver can often tone blue Psychologically, blue also represents sadness and depression, which does fit P3 dealing with death/mortality
Probably only two like 4 and 5. 3 was odd because the release on multiple platforms made it inconsistent. I’m glad Reload (despite all valid critiques) unifies 3 to all you to play all of 3’s content in one place. You have the 3d environment, better battle system where you can control your party, and the epilogue in one package now, rather than having to play it on PSP and PS2 to get everything. FeMC is the only thing we’re missing.
That’s a good one, the idea of only caring of weath by scams or doing requests and realizing by the halfway that it cause like an unbalanced to the town or city
I feel like this idea is a lil on the nose but green is also commonly linked with money so maybe persona 6’s message could deal with greed derived from either the idea of maintaining or gaining sum form of wealth in greedy ways can cause many to corrupt their morals in various way that can be explored (sum examples could be: abandoning loved ones for fame, increasing number of political/police bribes, selling your body for money and much more) this could also tie in well as maybe those that face themselves overcome this greed while those that can’t are fully corrupted by this greed and have to be defeated
Here’s another way to look at the yellow/golden color of Persona 4. Fog/smoke can obscure things naturally, but something that old SWAT and SAS units found when they were using really old flashlights on their weapons was that the Yellow incandescent bulbs that the lights used worked better to see through the fog/smoke, this yellow showing is the truth. This may be a bit of a stretch tho 😅
This reply is going to be spoiler heavy, so read at your own risk; Adachi worked as a detective. He used his position as an officer to not only carry a gun, but to also make himself inconspicuous. In the same way that he used his position to carry about the murders, the truth is masked in the same light that investigators normally use to solve cases. A massive stretch as well, but very twisted and thought out if true.
Green is also a color that can be used to represent mental health, which could possibly mean the plot for persona 6 is about stopping the shadows from bringing about a type of mental Armageddon? Because of that I can see the MC possibly having white hair, sort of as a “guiding light” metaphor? Or a “light to illuminate the darkness”, the darkness being one’s poor mental state of mind.
Theory: the colors of the game are based on the protagonist's initial persona's focus: Seimen Kongou - Ailments(Purple), Vulcan - Fire(Light Red), Orpheus - Support/Buffs(Blue), Izanagi - Electric(Yellow), Arsene - Curse(Dark Red). Persona 6 being green, I'm gonna bet their initial persona uses Wind lmao.
I'm running a Persona based D&D game based around healing trauma. Which is the way I hope P6 would go. I named the high school Kintsugi High. And, instead of the Seven Deadly Sins, the antagonists are warped versions of the Seven Heavenly Virtues.
This might be a stretch but I’ve always thought the yellow in P4 meant sunshine that showed the truth. I thought that it symbolized a sun/sunshine shining through the fog. When you look at some photos of fog you can still see the sun shine through. It might be a stretch but that’s what I thought it was.
That's a good interpretation! The directors/developers of the series have gone on in interviews giving mixed answers on the meanings. They've said both ''happiness'' and ''fog'' for 4, while 5 they've said ''rebellion'' and ''corruption.'' At the end of the day; It's art. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and so if to you that's what it means, than I personally believe it's as valid as any other interpretation, even when considering the artist's original idea. Not a stretch at all!
This was always my take. Light illuminating the environment, or “the truth” so to speak. I feel like the idea of happiness is also kind of baked in as well. Tonally, P4 is a much more upbeat game compared to the previous personas. It really tries to convey this mystery your solving with your friends. The whole game basically feels like summer break with your besties.
Nice theory. Green can be a associated with Greed so the main character can be blonde. Though there is also Envy and brown can fit with it being a color that doesn't necessarily stand out nor is overall special being a common hair color in many places and envious people want something that makes them special and be better than others.
My personal theory for the longest time has been that persona 6 is going to be about healing and humanity’s inability to let go. Green is a color associated with health but also growth.
with the whole "plant and soil" thing you mentioned, i have a theory: people forced to obey and provide for higher-ups, similar to how plant roots look for nutrients, and are forced to do so forever.
Green is associated with growth, nature, health, and prosperity. It could be abkut all of these. Now in a sense like a societal affect it could be about nature, it could be about cults, and greed which is the reverse of that. The rhings that affect health would be mental health, exercise, nutrition, false information, fear and anxiety and depression. It could be about a combination of these things overall affecting the health and imbalance of the collective consciousness.
I thought that the theme of P6 was going to be wishes. What people around us wish to be which contradicts the concept of nature .would it be cool if the main starts of as someone who believes that you can't fate ,you can't change the nature of and then during he figures out about changing their nature and becoming their true self. Maybe their brown hair turning into a yellow hue,🤔
If you know that persona is based off Carl Jung's psychology of the persona. You may have noticed that there'd a chart using colors to describe truth if I remember. The chart is a mixture of blue, yellow, and red and when compared to the color schemes of games it matches when reversed. Also blue butterflies are used to describe the blue on the chart just like those seen in P3.
That's really interesting. If I'm understanding it correctly and the blue butterflies are connected to them all, that also holds true to the series with the blue butterfly being Philemon. interesting stuff!
I think that the game theme will not be about the nature, Persona game have always a message about self-improvement (don't kill yourself, accept the true even if you don't like it and everyone have the power to change the world, so do it), so I think that the main theme of persona 6 will be about mental heal (green ribon is the symbol of mental heal)
Is funny how everyone thinks next Persona theme color is gonna be green, but who knows, personally I'm more eager to see something about the next main entry in smt
Would've figured Yu's hair being gray would mean "That Truth isn't always black and white. Good or Bad kinda like how Adachi and Yu are the same just had different circumstances that led them to their path."
According to inside people (who? Forgot haha) there will be duality, because it will be black and green, there will be 2 new game mechanics, 2 protagonists
I've heard that myself. I also heard it was supposed to be black and white instead of green. That'd be pretty cool. Either way; It's Persona. We're in for something cool.
I said this jokingly in reply to another comment on here, but I genuinely think that if this line of thinking is accurate, Persona 6's main party could end up operating on a similar MO to Avalanche from FF7 with a Persona twist (that is, using their "other world" to destroy the embodiments of enterprises that are killing the Earth in order to save nature/the planet).
Ya know, personally usually like to watch random definitely not real or close to true game theories in my spare time but this was one heck of a stretch. Didn't even mention the first two, characters& games themes either match or are opposites randomly, and "under certain conditions" is the most "some people say" version of this kind of theorizing you can do. Maybe it's just the short length of the video that makes these points unpleasant but my opinion ultimately doesn't matter if you're enjoying what you're doing and not hurting anyone.
If we're going with Green in terms of theme its hard to avoid nature but that also involves greed, jealousy, toxicity, life, and money. Maybe person 6 might have an environmental message about relying too much on technology to do our activism for us instead of being present in the world and making a difference with our direct actions. You can't do the right thing through intentions or words on the internet, alone.
Could be rebirth. The nature idea doesn't come from nowhere though. Originally, the devs of P5 thought of making the cast in that game travel across Japan. They ended up using the idea for Strikers, though we might see it expanded further in 6, hence the whole ''nature'' thing. Who can say though
Green could also be associated with greed/wealth or envy/jealousy, or even something toxic rather than nature. And for all of those I feel like you could pretty easily justify most hair colors for the symbolism if you fudge it right
Persona 6 may be our first aid in solving the mystery of the disease outbreak linked to Shadow's actions which is inspired by real events such as Pandemic COVID-19 & the Velvet Room will resemble a Lab
So, I think they originally wanted to use that for Persona 5, the idea was brought back for 6, but they ultimately decided on green. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's it
I can see where people are coming from when they look at the color green and they think the story is going to be just all about environmentalism. But give Atlas a little more credit than that because they're usually very philosophically sound, and philosophically imaginative when it comes to persona. I don't think persona 6 is going to be about environmentalism. Environmentalism might be a component of the story, there might be some level of supernatural pollution you need to stop or something of the like. But I think much like how persona 4 is a story about truth and yellow represents fog and deception: persona 6 is going to be a story about isolationism and green represents community and environment as in thinking about things outside of yourself and developing a better sense of the world around you. Not just in some macro tree-hugging sense but also in the micro local level. it's going to be a game about a bunch of people who for whatever reason self-isolate or have been isolated by society who come together and learn to think outside of themselves and be a part of their community and clean their room, the main theme is going to be isolation, and the villain is going to have a goal or mindset or both that represents an isolationist viewpoint. So in essence, with my Siri being that the themes of persona 6 will be about isolation. And developing a strong sense of community, being in touch with one's environment in both the literal and metaphysical sense. I propose that the color green represents community. With developing a sense for one's community and environment, and then taking your part in your community and helping out being the balm/ the medicine to being or feeling isolated. So yeah go ahead and tell me what you think if you want to respond, am I correct in thinking it's less about environmentalism and more about isolation/loneliness and community?
SPOILERS! (P5) Could be! I think 5 already covered greed quite a bit though given the politician guy among a few others. I couldn't fit it into the video, but the brown hair idea could also be for ''rust.'' Given how technology is advancing so rapidly (AI as an example) if we were to be given a sort of ''return to nature'' motif, I think now would be the best time.
They're gonna make it more masculine leaning femboy. The creators of breath of the wild link go into his femboy design to please females but still be a power top enough for manly men etc. For P5X they did him super feminine to get it out of the way,so i think for P6 it will be more manly looking than Wonder & people will instantly recognize him as a man like link. Im super curious tho how theyre gonna pull it off.
Bro not that you have a beseless argumet but, P3 its cause blue means death, and also hope, cause mc sacrifice himself for the sake of mankind, because he has hope, and a meaning for his life. P4 its about discovering the truth, means veracity, so it means truth. And P5 its about rebelion that is red common meaning, was the main color from majority of revolutions or rebelions. Just want you to understand my point ok, im not saying you are wrong just get what im saying.
While this site doesn't have EVERY developer interview they've ever had for Persona (for example, there's a few gameinformer interviews from 2013/2014 they missed) I would give some of them a read as they discuss the game's themes here and there. Playing the games themselves would also help :) personacentral.com/category/interviews/
I guess 3 would represent the sea of souls? Idk the whole concept of the protagonists hair being related to the messages of the game seems like a stretch to me.
If yellow is obscuring the truth and red is corruption (you didnt talk about p3 in this short but I think blue in that game would be nihilism or apathy if we follow this pattern), why would green suddenly be nature? That makes no sense and completely breaks the pattern (unless that's the point?). Shouldn't it be something like greed or envy then? There's the saying "green with envy" and green is often associated with greed because of the tie to money.
We've already dealt with themes of greed in P5. It very well could be, I just personally think nature would be more interesting (a commentary on AI and such). There's a positive side to each of the themes too. P4's yellow is also like the sun, both capatilizing the game's more cheery aesthetic, and symbolizing the sun clearing away the smoke on a cloudy day, revealing the truth. As such, if P6's theme being green means nature, greed could very well be the negative side of that. After all, we get oil for money, and gases destroy the atmosphere. TLDR My best educated guess would be; It's both.
i want to say persona 6 wont have somthing to do with nature i would say it would be more fast paced with alot of action and a mc thats like your typical shounen character
Persona 4 Golden came out in 2008. In Naoto’s S. Link she gets sent a letter by the “Phantom Thieves”. Persona 5 came out in 2017. The first earliest trailer of P5 was in 2014.
