@@Wellingtonfun I guess it's good they already have 3 of them with Hartenstein, Holmgren, and Jaylin Williams. I would have loved JI or Advija, but Advija was just traded and JI just signed a contract extension so those aren't possible. I agree they need another PF wings, but those are getting harder to come by now. I think the only good one that fits OKC to trade for now is Dorian Finney-Smith.
@@hestilllives192 Don't forget about Ousmane Dieng... he has been developing in the G-League. I hope he can provide some backup PF minutes. He has all the potential.
When I stepped in this chat and said OKC was the next dynasty about 4 months ago, I was laughed out of the room. I saw what the best GM in the game was assembling... now with 16 more first round picks and a ton of second rounders and pick swaps, who can stop us? We can get whoever we want, are in a perfect salary cap situation, and have the best young coach in the NBA. Who's laughing now?
Usually, dynasty talk starts after a team has won a championship. Let OKC at least make it to the WCF before you heap all of these expectations on them. Thunder is on the same trajectory as the Boston Celtics had been on before they won this year. And even then, there were still people out there questioning whether they could actually do it.
@reubengray6026 I agree, but OKC is constructed to literally be the best roster for the next 10 years, maybe more. Remember, I said this months ago. When you have the best coach, GM, medical staff, and arguably the best young player supported by an amazing young core with salary cap space still, while owning the competitions first round picks, the expectations are here. Now they have to deliver.
Hartenstein & Chet. Dort & Caruso. SGA & both Williams. And the bench is killer too. Sjeesh. This is my favorite new team. Smart & quick. Efficient & dogs. 👑
Hartenstein was grabbing eight boards a night coming off the bench last season so that will really come in handy. That's basically what Chet was doing as a starter so having him just as a back up big could double our rebounding output in that position. Also our team flopped massively last season with Chet off the floor. We need reliable cover for him. And finally it just gives us options. I think Shai, Chet, J Dub and Dort are going to start every game when healthy. But if we're playing a team like Dallas then we can start Caruso and we can set him and Dort on Kyrie and Luka and that will give them serious problems. But if we have Minnesota or Denver we start with Hartenstein and have Chet at the 4 and we have serious rim protection for their bigger guys. Basically we have a lineup for teams who's best players are 6'9 or under and we have a lineup for teams who's best guys are bigs. Having this much quality and depth on one team should be illegal but I'm here for it 😂
@@riroballsI need the Dieng arrival this year. If he can grow into his potential and become at minimum a key role player this team might be unstoppable for the foreseeable future.
I love Dieng but he could be a great trading piece if we chose togo after another star. Say Giannis forced his move out Milwaukee, we could send him, JWill, maybe even Caruso to get a superstar ofc adding some pics. That team would be a certified championship team with dynasty written all over it
He shoots only 31% for his career. He should never shoot 3s with that percentage and they don't need him to. We don't need another Andre Roberson out there hovering around the 3 pt. line on offense who can't shoot them at all but keeps jacking them up anyway. I saw enough of that to make me want to puke.
@@riroballs what's gonna happen is fans demand he get traded like they spent all year demanding josh get traded affecting his mental well being feeding a perpetual monster leading to a dismal performance vs. the mavs
Man OKC build a fantastic roster! Hartenstein will fit so well next to Chet. I also really love the new deals for Joe and Wiggins. The future is super bright but let's not forget that Minnesota and Dallas also had great off seasons so far.
@tyeballinger9568 We use the term GOAT way too much... but if this plays out the way I think it will, he may have a case. He is always years ahead of what teams realize they need to do.
With added muscle Chet will be very different, Cason will be more assertive but the biggest leap can be Ousmane if he can cross over into attack mode. We should seeglimpses during the Summer League.
True i agree,me personally i still would like to see both of them improve their offensive play start taking opponents off the dribble it just adds more consistent weapons besides saga and Jaylen them two must bring more to the table like what Boston has
With SGA resting jalen is out there Wiggins and Joe both need to pump fake opponents creating drive lanes, would like to see Jaylen be more aggressive,it showed against Dallas but also note, they were putting bigger wings on him that too comes with experience I’m there with you
As sam said there's gonna be a lot of outside voices that will try to sow discord within the walls of the thunder organization. OKC fans know exactly what could stop the thunder, we watched them tear down our beloved thunder team 8 years ago. Sam on Shai, he's not got anyone in his ear telling him not to be proud of what he's built.
The other Williams that comes in to relieve Chet you can’t be 6”9 245 he shows no aggression when he’s in there if you saw the way he played at Arkansas he was a lot more aggressive going after rebounds like Dennis Rodman I just don’t see him doing that a waste of space on the bench you see the way the Wagner twins for the magic play with a real nasty streak he needs to sit and watch film of those 2
Give Presti credit for finally getting a big man but at the same time recognize he gave away Sengun and Lively and either one of those guys, most specifically Sengun who averaged 21/9/5 last year, would be better than Hartenstein because they're more skilled overall players. Losing Giddey is going to really hurt because he was an integral part of their success but they have enough offense with SGA, Chet and JDub to offset what they're losing there. You're all going to see how good Giddey really is in the next few years though.
I think the problem with Sengun is that he's not really a good defensive big man although he tries for sure. Still wanted the Thunder to draft him back in 2021 btw
yeah man I mean they traded him to Houston. I actually had him mocked at number 6 to Okc back then. didn't expect us to take Giddey but yeah Sengun is really good and Giddey has been good for us as well
Eh a few teams if chet isn't a much bigger factor come playoffs. He struggled offensively for sure last yr in the playoffs, which I do think he will be much better and think ihart will help take a lot of burden off him down low. I still want to see the thunder go get Bobby portis solid role player with length and range off the bench but more importantly experience and a fiery infectious hustle game off the bench. I am not sure jazz will trade Lauri but now that the thunder signed ihart.....how does Lauri fit is he even a good trade target for okc now? Yould you bring ihart off the bench and go chet Lauri at 4,5 or fo you put Lauri at 3 and move dort and Caruso to off the bench?
That would be Shai, Dort, JDub, Lauri and Chet starting. Then we would have absolutely killer 2nd unit. However I believe that Utah set too big price for Lauri. They want to get as many draft picks or/and young promising players in exchange which is probably unacceptable by Presti. The good thing is that Jazz should trade him away in order to have high draft pick next year when Flagg is on the board. It means that their demands might drastically change by the end of trade deadline or mid season. If they don't trade him away, that's a big mistake IMO. So we will see. It might be so, that Presti is just waiting for them to be more reasonable and then will go all in but I think more probably is that we go like this or add some minor signing.
@@awethinic8379 I really don’t see a world where iHart is starting, I think he’ll be a Pseudo Starter where he’s coming off the bench but still playing north of 26 minutes for us Jwill just isn’t a backup 5 on a championship team level player, he’ll be used situationally and as an injury reserve
@@riroballsSome games will call for only Chet, some games will call for both. This team isn't about NBA norms. They're redefining what makes a great team. Positionless basketball and rotational starting lineup. Caruso and Hart aren't #6 and #7, they're Guard 2-B and Center 2-B.
Feels like that's pretty overrated at this point. Chet has had playoff experience now and combined with Hartenstein's 7 years in the league, they should be fine.
@@egomez1524they also replaced thj with Klay who is still a way better shooter even at 34. They got grimes and marshal who are overall better than djj and green. They have omax who’s gonna get a lot more minutes and is great defender. And they still have cap space to pick up another role player . I wouldn’t count them out
This franchise has a rich history of making it's fans look stupid. You are not going to win the NBA championship any time soon. Before you even start, Durant, Westbrook, Harden, were supposed to win it.
How about the team that just clapped everyone in the playoffs and is bringing everyone back: the Boston Celtics! Now, in two years, we will have a conversation, but for now, the Champs are untouchable
Hahahaha, just a little bit of a homer. Lol 😂 without lights out shooting by Washington and okc shooting terrible from 3 and the giddey sagging issue. Okc sweeps the mavs. Do you honestly think that will happen again? Plus no more surges while chet is resting. Plus now we can match up with two bigs. We both know that Washington 3 or clays 3 is a push. Clay can’t play defense as well. Yup you are a homer.
The OKC lost that series because they have no rebounder, as of right now the issue of rebounding has been solve since they are former number 1 seed in the west, I thinks Mavs ain't fuckin the OKC again
The West 🤔 was really trash in the regular season last year... SGA cannot carry Jalen Williams and Chet Hologram 😑.. people overreacting 🤔 some straight Mid .. smoking doe. Dallas got better.. Minnesota got better.. Memphis got better.. I'll take Denver over OKC in a heartbeat 🤓
100% OKCs rebuild has been built in an elite team defence. Reminiscent of the warriors small ball dynasty . The thunder work their asses off . But their leap from a .500 team last year to a 1 seed has everyone sucking them off as a new western powerhouse and I’m sorry but you’re all delusional . Charles Barkley guarantees 25 wins a season if you just compete every night. You don’t have to be good you just have to try. Then you have add have a pass first pg getting everyone involved making jalen Williams a target and SGA is given a green light as a scorer SG becoming an all star. So now you are a good team and make the play in and you did this without an injured Chet who was hoped to be the missing piece because you are one of the worst rebounding teams in history. So now have some rebounding and some rim protection making you even better at defending but you completely change your offence to allow this toothpick to jack up 3s and iso at the top of the key like he’s KD and your all star shooting guard is now wanting more ball so you give him non stop Kobe level iso moving him to PG because rebounding is still a problem so you get the only person willing to do it who is was a PG and you mismanage him as a rebounding small forward then have the nerve ask him to do shitty lesser role to devalue him in his 3rd year cause you don’t wanna pay him. Yet Somehow this ridiculous 5 out ISO offence got them 20 more wins … in the regular season .. and playing like the warriors does work in this day and age …but okc are not the warriors and winning in a conference that was arguably at its weakest point in recent history with most teams losing 500 or below and the nuggets and wolves playing most of the season without Murray and kat make the thunder massive over acheivers and the got found out in the playoffs and ended in a more accurate 4TH place bundled out by a team who plays zero defence who then couldn’t even muster up 90 points in finals games in one of the worst performances on the. big stage you will ever see . So give me a break and get a bit real if OKC can’t beat piss weak 5 seed who chokes like that then how clueless is that coach and how soft are they. ??!! ISO only works for Steph and klay and OKC are a joke
well PJ washington wont average 20 points a game again. he more then made up for luka. plus okc had a bad shooting series. were so young that all our players are only going to get better. you have to take that into account too.
@@zoomdoof6107 yes it would definitely be a 7 game series now. But i mean sure pj scored 20 a game but we got klay who can score 20 a game too. Plus pj’s 20 if he can get hot again our offense is top tier. We probably wont be top 3 defense anymore cus we lost djj but i mean we got pj, quentin grimes and naji now so we should be top 5-7
@@Hhjoougg3344 i think yall are capable of beating us, but it really depends on how much better chet and J dub get. if j dub is all star caliber, and chet tightens up his handle and improves his shooting i dont know how yall beating us. we probably have 3 of the best 10 defensive guards in the league, one of the top 2 best blocking centers in the league, and a big body center with great passing skills. its tough because we got many ways of beating yall. the nba today is not like the past nba, 1 player cant beat you anymore. the 1 player just gets doubled, and then its up to your 3rd and 4th best players to beat you. we have very quick long wingspan defenders/fast 7 footers. luka is not going to get easy layups anymore if chet is the help defender off hart. if things dont gel next season i think yall beat us in 7, but if we improve in the areas i mentioned we beat yall in 5 or 6
Luka injured. Lol nothing changed . He still is fat boy basketball. Absolutely no difference between healthy luka and injured luka. You barely beat a very young and inexperienced team that got a lot better and got a ton of experience. Dallas will not beat the thunder one game next year. None.
I've played and know basketball for a decade. I knew Mavs will defeat all those trendy lame teams like thunder and wolves. And I knew Celtics will wipe the floor with Mavs, especially after seeing Kyrie being hippie talking about lebron and the team being complacent in interviews before the series. I know and predict a lot more than you. Thunder are nothing. Just a good team to get to the second round, at best semis if the road is against weak teams like warriors or kings@@nicholasbutler4129
Sure, but okc will be a much bigger problem than Dallas. Dallas isn’t close to okc defense. Even with philly and the knicks upgrading, Boston is still heads above them. Only problem Boston has is injury prone center and not a clear #one player. They overcome that with a veteran team, deep bench. But tatum did elevate his game.
Boston won't repeat. They won't have the mentality for it. They got to play the easiest possible opponent from the west this year. That won't happen again.
Like the new players are better. But it's not like they are going to change okc outcome. They are the most ovverhyped team right now. 2rd exit at best. Their not better then denver, dallas or min.
Hard to understand this take when their weaknesses that stopped them this post season were shooting and rim defense/rebounding and they got 2 players who do exactly that. Dallas and Denver got worse and Minn stayed the same. I say Dallas got worse because Klay is washed and they lost DJJ and Green who were athletic defenders who could help stop OKC. Sounds like some good old fashioned hatin going on here.
They improved the weakness that was exploited by Dallas. Got rid of a negative asset (Giddey) and now have the playoff experience (and added experience) to move forward. They are better than the Mavs and match up better vs the Wolves. I'll give you the Nuggets though.
As far as this coming season they have no chance against the Mavs. Shai has no help whatsoever. It was embarrassingly obvious in that series. Caruso and Hartenstein don’t change that. Great regular season team for sure though
@healthfadsfade The mavs think they are so much better because they got Klay. Did you forget he shot 0/10 in his last game 🤣🤣🤣. Okc has the most talented team in the league no other team has 6 to 7 good players coming off the bench
@@Rj20 They were all LOST and waiting on Shai to do something when they played the Mavs. All fans pull this b.s. I´m about to pull but The mavs shoulda won in 5. OKC just isn´t on the same level.
