I've lived all over the country, *all* over, moved to Texas just in time for the first election of Obama. I've always been amused and amazed by the simultaneous confirmation and denial when I'd point out that out of everywhere I've been Texas is the most fixated on being Texas - and constantly advertising it. Native Texan (sometimes just after saying how they've never left the state): "Oh that's not true. Ha ha" Me: "Oh really? What shape is that *waffle* you're eating champ?" [In the background a jingle plays: 🎵 That's what I like about TexAAAs 🎵]

Maryland is the only state I've been to that loves its flag more than Texas. Yes, MORE THAN TEXAS. The Texas flag flies everywhere all over Texas and maybe you'll see it as a sticker, but due to it being pretty much a simplified version of the U.S. flag you don't see it on *everything*. If the Texas flag had a voice it would just be a dumbed-down version of the U.S. flag's voice.

I would've disagreed with that, but putting it above the U.S flag has some confidence that I respect. I will also respectfully put the California flag above the U.S flag, and agree to disagree.

The flag is taken from the coat of arms of the Maryland colony’s founder. So it is not just like a medieval banner, it is an actual piece of heraldry.

Hey RI's flag is one of the best, an Almost Square, 13 stars, an anchor and our state motto on a banner with a field of white.

At least Wisconsin's flag has its name on it, so you can tell it amount from all the other "state seals on blue field" state flags.

The Canadian flag is an excellent flag among national flags. It’s absolutely unmistakable. But among US State flags? Maryland’s flag is definitely superior to just about all others. Though I will give some love to the DC flag. Credentials: born in Maryland, moved to Buffalo, NY at age 4. You know, where we don’t go north to Canada, we go west to Canada, and listened to Canadian radio as teenagers in the 90s. RIP Gord Downie. 🇨🇦
