Hi Guys! Today, Bryan and I are reacting to the recently released Golden Boy 20 player shortlist. We discuss our favorite soccer card prospects and how we feel about them going into the world cup. As always, soccer prospecting is very risky, but we decided to have some fun and rank them the best we can. Feel free to let me know what you think down below!

Everyone please just listen to the first 20 seconds of the video before commenting. We are ranking players on the recently released “Golden Boy Top 20 Shortlist.” There are players in this video who are not going to the World Cup, and players we would’ve added if it was up to us. We did not make this list. As also mentioned in the first 20 seconds of the video. You’d be way better off buying many “older” players. But we just thought it’d be a fun video to rank some of these young prospects.

Lol but but Troy, you guys didn't mention these 10 prospects that weren't on the list how dare you! I'm glad you guys are giving your thoughts on prospects. It's important bc it's what a lot of people in the hobby gravitate towards when it's really a much bigger risk. Don't worry about those that entirely miss the point!

Kopa the award is named after former French footballer Raymond Kopa and the winner is selected by former Ballon d'Or winners. Unlike the Golden Boy award, the Kopa Trophy, even if less prestigious, is also open to those who play outside of Europe.

IDK I feel like almost every time Fati has subbed on he's given Barca a spark this year. Also just a heads up Sesko already has a deal in place with Leipzig so there won't be any transfer speculation hype.

Glad to see y'all put Tel in the "Meh" category. The hype on this unproven prospect is really out of control. He might only be in one soccer card release this year as a rookie but he is FAR from any sort of playing time regularity, starting role or scoring consistency. I understand that rookie card scarcity is important but if goal scarcity is present then the cards will be worthless. He's a great SELL while the hype cycle is still rolling. 🤓⚽

Good list. Garnacho (I think Topps Now is his first card), Iqbal (merlin), Harvey Elliot - they dont make your list but have potential to make a scene in 2-3 years time.

a bit on the older side at 22 but where do we stand on Jonathan David, 2nd in scoring in Ligue 1 and Canada could be a darkhorse in their bracket. Also, I feel like Doku could return to his Euros form with Belgium even if its off the bench.

Nuno Mendes is really young and really good, he will do the world cup with a contender team. He's not expensive. I'm buying for small profit. Mathys Tel will be a great player, too expensive now, but maybe the price will drop during the world cup ?

Udogie is still at Udinese. But he’s been purchased by Tottenham and will move there next season. He should be a “buy”……you heard it here first.

For the last 2 years my biggest 2 international player buys have been Musiala and Florian Wirtz. Wirtz is great with only the 1 RC card and only a few 2nd year. Has he just become the next Fati with his injury when he comes back? Leverkusen is totally lost without him this year, thus showing all he does for the team.

Why'd you guys throw extra attention on to my shadow PC guy? I'm sending you two a bill for the difference between what I was paying for Musiala cards before this video and what I have to pay after this video. =D Also, Musiala is a lock to start for Germany at this point. He's been the BEST player for Germany in their country games leading up to the WC.

Be careful with Adeyemi. Adeyemi doesn't get along in the Bundesliga. The older players criticize Adeyemi for his style of play. "He doesn't play smart enough." I think he underestimated the playing strength of the Bundesliga with the Austrian Bundesliga. If he doesn't change his playing style soon he won't get far in Dortmund.

He won’t be on anyones list doesn’t have a rookie card yet as he just secured a transfer from the mariners to Newcastle but at 18 Garang Kuol for Australia will be crucial for their chances coming off the bench. A real live wire great pace and will torch the frogs on the counter if he’s given an opportunity

Since Italy aren't going to the World Cup the prices for Italian players shouldn't be impacted so I am a little confused why you would include Scalvini and Zalewski? Also, are you confusing Nicola Zalewski (Italian midfielder for Roma) with Nicolò Zaniolo (Italian striker for Roma)? The latter seems to be much more interesting in terms of card investment.

You guys really forgot about Anthony (the new player for Manchester United) , he is still very young, and another guy that is going to be in the world cup with France and Camavinga is Aurelien Tchouameni , new player for Real Madrid, very young , strong , leader, talented, he was the AS Monaco captain last year. It don't matter if the player is 23 or 24 yr old, there is many good investments/players that will "start" playing and have a good world cup like , Phil Foden.. Vinicius.. Richarlison.. Rafael leao, etc.. don't focus too much in the new guys that just came out a year ago. That's just my opinion ✌️
