My projected retirement is 3,005 at 66.8 and my wife's is scheduled to make 2,007. The statement that I downloaded online states that Total Family benefits cannot be more than: $5,092. Does this mean that we are capped at that amount which would mean there is no benefit to working past FRA?

Nevermind. That cap is for Survivors Benefits.

For those of us who are older than 62 but not 70, and have not started SSI: what cola is included in the FRA PIA. In other words, for my statement dated December 2022, would that include the COLA announced in October of 2022?

It does not include the 2023 cola announced in 2022. If you go online and run it now, it will reflect the 2023 increase

I don't think your wife can get half of your ss when she reaches full retirement age unless she was born in 1954 or earlier. The government phased that option out. I'm 68 now and my full retirement age was 66. I started receiving half of my husband's a couple of years ago. Waiting till I'm 70 to get my SS check.

Maryann The SS administration phased out file and suspend a few years ago. My wife’s own benefit is about $400 a month at full retirement. Her spousal benefit (50% of my FRA benefit will be about $1750). We do this or plan spousal benefits for people all the time. My wife didn’t work at a job much once our children came along.

You don't really lost money at 62. You started sooner so you get less.
