I totally agree with you! The audacity of these people not showing remorse that 2 young boys lives were taken, never to grow up to become adults. These people definately feel they are the elite of society & should not be made accountable for their actions & be treated differently than the rest of us. My heart goes out to the parents of these boys. ❤❤
Yes, it’s normal for them to be upset; so accept the consequences of her actions. I feel for the family of the boys, which seems to be the consensus here. If she hadn’t left the scene, it would gave gone very differently. She would have shown herself to be a human being.

AGDawn. The law can move very slowly and especially in an involved case like this. This is not unusual, at all. Same applies in prolonged civil cases. There are myriads of reasons why it takes so long for a case to come to trial. Unless you have been involved in one, it is easy to not understand why. However, it has nothing to do with a broken system. Has always been this way.
You realize thats how it usually always works, right? Hate to break it to you but theres many trials, they all take months. Schedules exist for a reason. How do you expect a single court to handle 20 cases at the same time?
Her daughter's actions in court were despicable. She screamed at the boy's parents for putting her mother through this. The perceived privilege of these people was staggering.
She committed crimes for which she should be in prison for up to 28 years. However, the DA charged and the jury convicted her of crimes for which she is factually innocent. Do you want her to walk free on appeal just to try to get an extra 6 years on her sentence?

She was fleeing the scene after killing the children, and only stopped because her smart car stopped on its own after sensing a collision. Then she tried to say her boyfriend’s car was responsible even though her car had severe damage from impacting the children. She has no morals, and is just a common liar, cheater, and murderer.

I lived in Westlake Village for a while. I was an assistant to a business woman. She was an alcoholic as were many many of her rich friends. They drive drunk all the time in upper circles. So messed up. Very sad.

She tried to leave the scene of the accident but her Mercedes shut down once the airbags deployed. She also dragged this through the courts for 4 years while out on bond. Lock her up till she dies, her kids can visit her in jail.
Even with a life sentence, Rebecca comes out on top. She didn't have to watch her children die. She didn't have to bury them and mourn a lifetime stolen from them. At least she can watch videos of her children graduating, getting married, having children and watching her grandchildren grow up. Not so for the parents of the boys she killed.
I live here and my mother knows her. This is not the first time she has driven drunk. She has always gotten special treatment and this is the outcome of that. Two babies dead.

He was at first sentenced to only 10 years probation and didn’t even finish that right, he broke parole then spent 720 days in jail…but still not nearly enough for killing FOUR people. Three siblings from my church, known as the Simmons 3, were killed in a crash by a drunk driver who was 3x over the limit, going the wrong way on the highway….the drunk guy also got killed in the crash. Couch has continued to get in trouble, one thing or another, since 2013 when he killed those people. So basically he’s learned nothing all this time.

Her role, was she driving, did the vehicle speed through an intersection killing 2 people, if you answer yes to the two questions I think we have an answer to her role. Manslaughter is a serious felony.

This reminds me of an accident back in 2004. Acollege girl hit a mom walking across the street with her two small kids (baby in stroller and 4yo). Both little ones died. Despite proving the driver ran a red light, and mom had walked after pedestrian signal was on), there were no charges. Outrageous part was discovered later the college girl was the daughter of a high profile lawyer family in South Florida. Glad at least in this case they pressed and held firm to the charges.
It was extremely despicable to run over two young boys and leaving the scene. Today the motion for a new trial is denied. Excellent. A cold blooded murderer should not receive a new trial.
I think Scott is getting off really easy here. No wonder he's laying low. In the Cameron Herrin case in Florida (he killed two people while racing on the Bayshore expressway) the "other" vehicle driver who was not directly involved in the collision still plea bargained a six year prison term (Cameron received at least 25 years). I don't see why Scott's situation is any different--he was racing also--even if he didn't hit those boys.
