Rebecca Grossman pens letter to judge saying she is ‘not a murderer’ ahead of sentencing  

She talks about her suffering so much in that letter, makes me wanna vomit. I hope she understands real suffering

How can she mention her own suffering after taking the lives of 2 beautiful handsome boys? Does she not see or feel the pain of their mother and father never getting to hold their sons again, or watch them grow to be teenagers into adulthood? She needs to feel their pain and realize how little her pain means after killing 2 young boys lives. Drinking and speeding were choices. This was not an accident whether she saw them or didn't see them in the crosswalk.

its kind of surprising that her family didnt flee to israel. grossman is a jewish name, any jew can flee to israel if they are facing prison time for crimes. this happens all the time. a significant incident happened on August 19, 1991, Yosef Lifsh was driving a station wagon in a funeral motorcade for rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, where yosef lifish purposely ran a red light in crown heights new york and jumped a curb hitting Gavin & Angela Cato, cutting gavin in half killing him instantly. angela later died at the scene after a jewish ambulance service refused to treat her . lifish , a jew, and his passengers tried to feign injury. they proceeded to call hotzolah, an ambulance service that exclusively treats/services ethnically jewish people in new york. they used the ambulance to flee the area because eyewitnesses were growing angry that the jewish ambulance service didnt save angelas life at the scene. yosef lifish fled to isreal within 24 hours of the accident, he was never charged, and never extradieted to the US because israel does NOT have to hand over ANY criminal to the united states. this woman could have fled to israel surprised she didnt.

I hope she gets the maximum penalty. She’s cruel. No sympathy for the victims’ family. She said she would have driven her car into a tree if she has seen the kids. But she only stopped after the event because her airbag deployed.

But I imagine the mindset would be to drive the speed limit, come to a complete stop at stop signs and give the cops zero reason to pull me over and see I’m drunk. Why do they always drive so fast??

Technically not all killings are murder.

Murder involves intention and sometimes motive. It can be impulsive, such as a crime of passion. Although there was no plan on her part to kill two young boys in a crosswalk, she knew that under the influence of alcohol that she could end up harming or killing people while driving drunk. So in her situation, she isn't a murderer, but she is a killer.

Stop with the slap on the wrist punishments for killing people because you wanna get your buzz on and drive. This lady has all the money in the world, she could easily hire a driver or pay for an Uber . This crime could have been easily prevented . I think the letter makes it worse. She's basically saying that she was too inebriated to see two people in the crosswalk while she was driving.

They BOTH had other people they were seeing. If you followed the story, you'd know all that but I'm guessing you watch a 2 min video here & there and think you know all the info. No, I'm not siding with her. I can't stand her. She's a murderer. I wanted her to get the maximum sentence. She has 2 kids; there's not a word in her note about what she would demand if her children were killed by a drunk driver ----- and yet it happens somewhere every day.

Plus it was a hit and run incident. She sped away after mowing over the boys until the safety feature of her Mercedes-Benz turned the ignition off and she was stranded.

@@bigmacdaddy1234 Because people don't expect motorists to exceed the urban speed limits to highway speeds or people to drive drunk. And we have something called laws to prevent tragedies. Obviously, it is class warfare and a two tiered justice system. To be sure, the rich literally get away with murder every single day. Stop giving them a pass just because money and influence. As for the parents, they are already paying the price for lack of diligence and vigilance. And it will be a lifelong sentence of guilt and trauma. The perp gets to spend the rest of her life likely in a white collar resort prison.
