I am surprised the dumbell made an appearance at 5:33. I think it was still partly attached and got shot upward with explosive force like a rocket.

I knew it would jump around until it was gone, but I didn't expect so much of a reaction on the first explosion.

What exactly gives you the impression it's completely legal compared to any other explosive generally legally explosives are defined by whether or not they are intended to explode. That's why it's legal to buy all the stuff on Amazon because there are many legal encouraged uses for many components used in explosives You can make a primary explosives out of only stuff you might find under a bathroom sink.

I bough 1oz of sodium metal. I cut into small pieces and watched it catch on fire and explode throwing many smaller pieces into the lawn. I sprinkled lawn with water and several more pops. So then I took apart a capsule that contained a powdered herb and cut a small piece of sodium and stuck in the water soluble capsule. Threw it in a puddle of water and after only a few minutes it exploded!

I bet they use this for movie explosions.

Reminds me of when I was at school in Chemistry class. I threw a lump of sodium into a fishtank full of water (no fish) when the teacher wasn't looking....and yes, there was a loud bang and water and perspex everywhere. I got into a lot of trouble but my friends thought I was cool :-) Happy days :-)
