TQ IMMENSELY FOR AN ENTHRALLING REPERTOIRE OF MIKLOS ROZSAS. ONE OF THE GREATEST MUSICAL COMPOSERS OF ALL TIME !! CAPTIVATING, COMPELLING!!!! BEAUTIFUL MOVIE!!!! ❤
One of the greatest n finest from the legendary composer of golden era.Truly awesome.Though the movie was financially n commercially failed but still love to watch because of composition n Rosana Podesta.💐💐💐
Echt klassisch!
An astounding feat. It was necesary, as in all biblical epics, to attempt to write music in a ancient style to achieve a semi authentic atmosphere. Very difficult to achieve. Actually we know very little about music from ancient world. This is a rapturously beautiful score.
Fantastic soundtrack - one of Mr. Rozsa's best, even if the film itself was not really worth much. This is a great channel. We remain indebted to you, 'Soundtrack Fred', for uploading such wonderful music for our enjoyment. Thanks!
Agreed. Most of the movies Mr. Rozsa worked on tended toward the lofty & noble. This one was kind of cheesy... ... Except the last scene, where Lot ( played by Stewart Granger) is sobbing in anguish at the death of his wife (played by Pier Angeli), turned into a pillar of salt.
I've got many of these epic soundtracks on the original 10" MGM 78's...& although most of them were recorded either late 40's & early 50 's..they still play well & sound good...although there are a few cracks and scratches obviously..but in saying that..that is what give them character...!!! :)
Dimitri Tiomkin was originally hired to compose the music for this film. However, eye surgery forced him to cancel. Mikos Rozsa, who reminded me that as he was 'second best', he was hired as a replacement.
Pillar of Salt, the last track of this video. It left me wondering…. Such an emotional , sad, emotionally charged ending. Alas, It’s in the Bible, but this story makes it so real. Madam Anouk Aimée is beyond superb in her role as Queen Bera. Her beauty is timeless.
SODOM + GOMORRAH: OMG!!! THIS REPERTOIRE REMINDS ME OF THE MIGHTY POWER OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD WHO IS ABOVE ALL THE EMPIRES OF THE WORLD!!! TRULY HE IS OMNIPOTENT AND OMNISCIENT. HE IS THE CREATOR OF ALL. GOD HAS BLESSED THESE MUSICIANS WITH. A TREMENDOUS TALENT!!!! MAGNIFICENT MUSICAL SCORE!!! TQ KINDLY.❤

V04032016.In "Escaping Slaves"- rozsa sodom and gomorra , the master rozsa repeat his El cid soundtrack Thirteen Knight. In "Messengers Of Jehova" : sodom and gomorra, rozsa repeat his score of quo vadis : christh theme : Quo Vadis Domine and vision of peter, second of his christ theme quo vadis rozsa repeat in this soundtrack quo vadis. also repeat in "Messengers Of Jehova" his Christ theme of Ben Hur, because Jehova and Christ are God father and son and Holly Spirit.
It is okay, I guess, but it really is second-rate Rozsa possibly because the Maestro himself was not impressed or inspired by the film. Rozsa did not like the film, calling it "a dirty little picture." It was distributed by 20th Century-Fox when the studio nearly went bankrupt because of "Cleopatra." Though it begged to be a wide screen epic, it was shot by it's Italian and American producers in standard 35mm, not even CinemaScope. Not up to the standards of "Ben-Hur," "King of KIngs" and "El Cid."
V05012018. THE SEARCH IVAN HOE -ROZSA; This part Score Ivanhoe-Miklos Rozsa; The Máster Rozsa repeat in his Sodom and Gomorra Overture. THE SEARCH IVAN HOE -ROZSA Sound obviusly in Overture. Of course it was G OD he must have been very angry he usually has a sense of humor he could really had fun if he threw down money and gold over the cities for the monsters there would have slowly killed one another to obtain it He would have live entertainment watching their devious devices
s21022015. in "Escaping Slaves"- rozsa sodom and gomorra , the master rozsa repeat his el cid not remember the name of soundtrack of the cid but repeat here his the cid. in "Messengers Of Jehova" : sodom and gomorra, rozsa repeat his score of quo vadis : christh theme : Quo Vadis Domine and vision of peter, second of his christ theme quo vadis rozsa repeat in this soundtrack quo vadis. also repeat in "Messengers Of Jehova" his christ theme of ben hur, because jehova and christ are god father and son and holly spirit.
I don't really know what you are on about when listing all the instances where Mr. Rozsa's music sounds similar. Are you criticising him, or simply pointing out where his music 'repeats' itself for the enlightenment of the viewers? I hope it is the latter, In any case, it is very common for any music composer to repeat themselves, or sound similar, at any point of their careers. But that doesn't mean that they should be accused of self-plagiarism. On the contrary - rather of excessive creativity and genius, to the point that some of their wonderful melodies find their own way, somehow disguised, into other compositions. Miklos Rozsa was a true genius - almost unparalleled by any dead or living film composer. Even if it may sound unfair on many others, if I was forced to choose only one film composer as a favourite, that would be maestro Rozsa. The others that I truly love, and who would unfortunately have to be left aside, are Jerry Goldsmith and Ennio Morricone.
Yes rozsa repeat score the others films in others is because the messangers are similars, because are themes with relations with others, examples my comentaries here of the marchs of kings of kings roman legions in ones soundtracks of sodom and gomorrah. L23022015.
I believe in god more l am not fanatic , the fanatics have believes with scaries in god. The fanatics that limits, but respect. I am catholic, the true religion of christ, the firts church of he. More im not fanatic and respect others believes and churchs.
Examples of rozsa repeting others score his in others films because are themes similars, verys, rozsa friendship ben hur- rozsa friendship the cid, rozsa repeat this track ben hur in this the cid because theme friendship.
