SODOR FALLOUT [] SPEEDPAINT[]#6: Gordon the Blue Engine 

To be honest, Gordon is the scariest among the others because he’s doing what he loves most while he’s suffering a twisted fate. Blind, going at an uncontrollable speed, falling apart but the distorted flesh holds him together, and he never stops until he waits for a sharp turn to end it all. He’s pulling the express while stuck in a never ending fate!!! It’s like “Snowpiercer”.

*Empty rails, coursing beyond this night,* *Amid the sound of a whistle, is an agonizing fright,* *He goes at dangerous speeds, eerily beyond the rails,* *But when his visage sets upon you, he kills without fail,* *He never yields, because the express is no dream,* *For this poor, defenseless creature is now unable to scream.*

Trying to scream while stuck in a terrifying, mutated state is truly what you can consider a fate worse than death.

Of all of the mutations, Gordon is one that REALLY bums me out A once proud, elegant and strong express engine, an A0. One of a kind... Reduced to a panicked mass of screaming metal and mutated flesh.

I think of all the engines' fates and predicaments, Gordon's is the most unsettling to me. It's essentially an "I have no mouth and I must scream" situation: Gordon is no doubt in terrible pain, but can't even express it, and also probably has no idea where he is or what he's racing towards if he's been rendered blind by the flesh warping over his eyes. Either he's scared out of his mind and is running because that's all he can think to do, or he's trying to build enough speed to horribly derail himself on that sharp bend he *HOPES* he's barreling towards to end it all. But the fact he's still pulling the express is what dials it up even further for me. Because then I start to wonder... Were there people in the carriages when Gordon suddenly began to careen down the tracks? Are they still alive in there or is Gordon hauling a train full of corpses? If it's the former, then what must be going through their minds? They're probably panicking themselves; they no doubt were out going to work, or heading home until suddenly a flash lit up the sky. Before they can figure out what's going on, the express starts to pick up speed, going faster than what's probably safe, and seems to show no signs of stopping. All the while they can hear a muffled screaming from the engine up ahead as the dying irradiated countryside which was once their home streaks by outside the windows. They know they can't jump for it, they're going too fast, but they also know if they stay on the train it's only a matter of time until they hit a bend too sharp to hold them on the tracks at that speed. Much like Gordon, all they can do is wait however long it takes for the inevitable to happen. But unlike Gordon, they *CAN* scream...

"Never trust domeless engines", he said, "They aren't respectable." *He's got a lot more to worry about than just a dome now...*

A lost dome is now the least of Gordon's worries.......

I can’t imagine the hell he’s in. Once a prideful Express Train who felt pride and joy when pulling the express. But now he failed to escape the blast and radiation mutated him in the worst way possible. He is in agony as the radiation took effect, first the eyes were covered in flesh and straps of flesh covered his mouth, Now he’s blind and his mouth is shut and the only thing can emit is a muffled scream. He’s an unstoppable fast abomination filled with pain, For its like he’s falling apart and he’s unable to yell for anyone. All he hopes for is a sharp curve to end his misery

Gordon: *Becomes a dangerously fast Mutant* Edward: *Oh HAIL Naw!*

*the sounds of muffled screaming and the horn of the famed no.4 gives those who survived the explosion and watch the black rain (this happened after a nuclear explosion) fall those who seen the engine noticed it was falling apart at the seams possibly due to his dangerous speed*

It’s spooky because at 2:58 it sounds like a muffled “WHY?!” And that’s a nice detail to add, I’d be asking the same thing if i was in that situation

I could hear the sounds of clanking when Gordon was on screen, the radiation must have withered his parts and caused his dome to fall of.

Express Coming Through.......

I like the fact that his dome is off its little things like that are really cool

What I like about your illustration is that Gordon actually looks like his mouth's been shut off enough to stop him from screaming. On Connor's original version of the mutated Gordon, I don't see why Gordon can't at least scream when literally only 3 thin strands of flesh are stuck across his mouth.

My guess is Gordon was trying to scream ‘Help!’

I could see the eyes inside his eyesockets, meaning that his eyes are melting

That muffled screaming sound is very unsettling...but combine that muffled scream with the Oliver speedpaint you did and you've got yourself something worse than a nightmare

I don't know if it's the cracks and missing chunks from Gordon's boiler and running board, or if it's the clanging sounds as Gordon races along, but i think he's falling apart at the seams

"Why...can't I see...? One moment I'm pulling the Express...and the next...I'm blind...I can only feel the rails beneath me...and I can't speak...I've been trying to scream for...who knows how long...I can hear myself screaming...but I can't stop... Somebody...please...help me...

You know...I saw what a boiler explosion looks like on a steam engine. Imagine being an engine, the pain of your body bloating and bursting so violently that your own metal boiler tubes pirece through your whole body and face. And just have the song "Great to be an engine" in the background to drive home the irony.

what scares me the most is that his whistle just echoes through the dark...nobody can help him. The only way he can stop is to de-rail...

Thank you for "The Shining" flashbacks. In all seriousness, great song choice. Back from the time when Gordon's class ruled the LNER. But yeah, I agree with the description. I never thought about him slowly falling apart, in addition to going at full speed while not being able to see or scream for help. And, like I always say, I love how it looks like an illustration from the RWS.

I have to say, this is one of the more scarier ones.

All i can now hear poor gordon trying to scream for someone to help him or kill him. Because quite frankly.. he can’t stop.. he can’t see.. and he cannot scream. I really really hope no passengers are in the coaches he has right now

Why do people think that gordon was on Edwards branch line when the blast hit, when it’s said in wrong road that gordon never goes there because he’s too “proper.”

Poor Gordon deeply mutated, gone out of control, can't see and speak, and would crash next to a crossing. Which means he would be damaged beyond repair and scrapped, and will rest in peace with the engines that died on that day.

well what in the odds, your totally a marvelous artist for making Speedpaints what could me the next project, Boco and the china clay pit twins? maybe Donald (even though the cause of death and crew is still unknown) or Percy and Henry, but maybe those ideas would be on the list for another time. besides, since you did deserved the respect of having a break with all the hard work, and i still respect you since you worked on your Speedpaints.

I love the RWS mixed with TVS style on him! At least, that's what i think you went for, but this one came out sick! Also a little edit: i have a theory here that i haven't really seen going around. I think Gordon crashed before or on the mainland. Or on Sodor even. Think about it, canonically, Sodor takes an hour to travel through non-stop. He either crashed on Sodor, or since they were dismantling the bridge, he crashed in it. Or if they were too late, and Gordon didn't crash on Sodor, well. We're getting Gordon goes foreign 2.

Plan A: we find a bridge, jump onto gordon, and let the steam out of him. Plan B: we make him derail

Out of all the engines who were mutated, Gordon’s is the most horrifying to me. Being blind is bad enough, but LITERALLY being unable to scream or call for help, and only able to feel the rails beneath you…jeez

The one that is trying to scream.. Gordon was the most disturbing and depressing engine I kind of feel bad for him trying to scream only hearing the outside world and only seeing the pitch black void of nothingness..

The audio kinda reminds me of what percy’s driver had told in his story “And every year, on the date of the accident, the engine runs again as a warning to others. Plunging into the gap! Shrieking like a lost soul!”
