An interview with Sofia Helin - star of The Bridge - backstage at Nordicana 2015 in London in June by Monika Agorelius of Close Up Productions for Arrow Films / Nordic Noir & Beyond
She is so gorgeous. Amazing actor. The character Saga is one of the most interesting characters I have ever seen. Sad, funny....cannot wait for series 4.
Huge credit has to be given to the makeup artists of this show! I wouldn't recognize Sofia Helin if I had bumped into her on the street. Her and Saga are so different it's insane. No wonder she doesn't get recognized. And of course her acting is spectacular! And so is the whole show.
+xradical89x It's less to do with her make up and more the character. Saga constanly frowns and talks in monotone whereas Sofia always has a smile on her face and her voice has a light inflection; it makes a huge difference.
+preachercaine Yes and no. Saga does frown all the time but it's not only that. I guess it would be fair to say the combination of the two factors makes such huge difference.
Even if I don't understand Swedish, the series is so gripping that I was addicted to it. Amazing actors and a fast moving, intricate and interesting script.
I just finished watching Season 3 and now we know there will be a Season 4. All I can do is hope the writer changes his mind and gives Thure and Sofia a Season 5. They're brilliant actors of such a great writer's work.
A really good tv series which I binge watched for the first time over a few weeks last year. I thought the whole production was great but her acting and portrayal of her character made the show feel more engaging and interesting. She comes across so differently(ie.voice, tone, facial expressions) from her character which demonstrates to me how great and accomplished she is at her profession 👍
I absolutely love this show and all the characters in it. I just recently discovered it on Amazon prime and now I am completely hooked. Saga's character is so unique and interesting. One of the best portrayals of a detective I have seen. The scripts are never boring and truly compelling. Makes me want to visit Sweden and Denmark which hopefully I will do soon. Cheers to all the cast and producers!
Luckily, our Irish channel bought it years ago, and like you, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Acting and storyline are fantastic. I'm going to have a look on Prime for it, have another go at it, happily. Thanks for letting us know where to get it.
Love you Sofi Saga , it’s really an awesome character you play ed , of course Malmo becomes a city of criminals figures , you should lighted up at least on this amazing roll, Bravo
She was surprised at not being recognised????? Dowdy Saga against the actress' petite, delicate prettiness! I've met her and vouch for how lovely she is.
+Dee Tee (deetee) Watch series 1 and 2 on Netflix! That's what I did. If you don't have Netflix, you can get it free for a month and just cancel it once you've watched it if you didn't want to pay. :)
At the end of season two a mystery figure is revealed who, after killing his last accomplice, disappears. I wonder if that loose end gets tied up in either of the last two seasons.
I am thoroughly engaged by this series!!! Sofia's character of Saga is so completely realized. Also the writing and other actors' acting are also superb. My only disappointment is that the lighting is so washed out and dreary - I've been to Europe many times outside of summer, and there is sun there! (Why are so many BBC productions so dismally lighted??) Still, this is the most engaging series on television, and I can't wait until Series 3 is released here in the USA The US version with Diane Kruger was also very well done. Sadly, only two seasons were produced .... too 'heavy' and too many characters for the average American TV viewer to follow?? Oh well ... the two seasons we did get were GREAT, and one can always hope for another one ..... Now we have The Tunnel airing on PBS ... not bad, but seems the BBC prefers to focus on melodrama .... time will tell how this version weaves together ..... Enjoy Stephen Dillane, though.
I really hope so, they're not gonna kill Henrik. The show actually has a very many negative effects, a happy end (or something like that) would be acceptable.
Being honest I like the Bridge But its missing something from Others ie Beck,Wallander&Arne Dahl?? maybe its me ?? but I enjoy nevertheless cant wait tc uk
Yeah UK makes the best but you know it gets boring if you watch things in same language, same culture. Everything nowadays is in English, it gets boring literally. This series was reflecting the Scandinavian culture and language onto the screen and for me it was good.
What can we expect from the Bridge season 3? ……… Answer: A bad and confusing story, Zero chemestry between the leads, the most annoying characters in the series and *NO* Kim Bodnia.....So will season 4 be any better???.....Answer: *FUCK NO It'S EVEN WORSE* Conclussion the show died as soon as Hans Petterson and Martin Rohde wasn't a part of it anymore
