14500 / AA I have a lot of them. Very handy size, most have useful clips that can always attach to a hat. Sofirn are always a good value, reliable and durable.
Just ordered mine and am excited. It seems like a real powerhouse for a lil light and definitely worth the price while caught on sale. There was also a discount code. So fire. Thanks for the awesome review video
I'm in the process of finding what works best. I'm thinking I'll just use the gimbal to walk around to show the modes, lumen and range measurements, then switch to the tripod and have quick bursts in different locations. I'll also include photos while I speak at the beginning, and look at shortening it. May shorten the UI section and just skim over the options without having to show everything.
Hi J, you've been doing good so far. To me, i prefer flashlight /torches review that emphasized towards visuals, and yours are come up well. Beamshots of nearfield, midrange, long range in different area, with 3rd person pov and different shot angle as a good garnish would add nice surprises😊 Cheers🔦
Glad they finally got Anduril working with low voltage and can use 14500 and NIMH now. I just need a common tail switch so I'll pass on this one. I have large hands cant stand the little hidden side switches in the dark! I've been wanting a AA NIMH Anduril flashlight for years.
because Anduril V2 is a nightmare to show everything in every review video. Here's the full tutorial video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1qXd22l1eMg.html
I bought one of these and while waiting to get it was looking through the UI diagram and text. I am a little disappointed in how little control the UI gives you. Yeah you can adjust brightness levels and stuff but simple things like being able to set it to come on in strobe or SOS with one click isn't configurable. I hate strobe and SOS but that was just an example.
This is why the Anduril V2 is open source/free, it's available to make the changes and flash it back onto the SP10 Pro. As I said in my response to your other comment, this Pro version is designed for enthusiasts, not for the average Joe who wants Strobe with one click, this isn't a tactical model and the UI isn't designed to be used as such. In saying this, you can actually get Strobe in a single click if you want to. First you need to be in the Advanced UI, select Strobe and then turn the flashlight off. You then click 5 times to enter Momentary mode, now every time you hold the switch it uses that Strobe level.
@@PiercingTheDarkness So you are saying enthusiasts are morons? The advanced UI looks like it was designed for the average Joe because it is so limited. If it were for enthusiasts it wouldn't be so limited and restrictive .
Why in the world would the developer waste space in the UI for two moonlight modes that look like you have a dead battery? People use a flashlight for light not for no light or very little. At first look I though the UI was the result of laziness but now I see it is just plain stupidity which seems so common in software development.
I suggest watching a UI tutorial before jumping the gun. This UI is specially for enthusiasts, this is why there's an SP10 V3 for the simple folk, and a Pro version for those of us who like to play around with settings. The moonlight level is configurable, so you can bump it up to whatever is suitable. This firmware was developed by a user called ToyKeeper from a forum called budgetlightforum. This is open source/free to whoever wants to make changes and flash their own version onto the SP10 Pro. I absolutely love the moonlight level where it is, this way I don't wake myself up when I need to pee in the night, and also keep from disturbing the wife. Everything used in the Anduril firmware was requested by countless users in the flashlight community, but it's not for everyone. There is a Simple UI for those who don't like to mess around, and this "Simple UI" is configurable as well via a config menu. By default this uses a higher moonlight level, specially for people like you...
@@PiercingTheDarkness Why do I need to watch a UI tutorial? I have looked over the diagram and read the text. Even the advanced UI is simple. So simple it left out a ton of functions which led me to believe the developer was lazy but the more I looked at it the more I realized it was stupidity. Gee I want one click to turn on medium. Two clicks to turn on Turbo and one hold to turn on candle mode but that's not configurable. Why not? A bunch of useless blinky modes but no way to assign clicks and holds to modes. It's like something out of the 1940s. I have a couple AVR developer kits laying around and could make a better UI from scratch using the Attiny 1616 instruction set even though the code is opened sourced. Too much bloat to even try to modify it.
@@MrWhaatay Then just flash it onto yours and you won't have a problem :) that's the whole point of the SP10 Pro having accessible pads. Not sure why you're annoyed when there's an online manual and diagram to read before buying to know exactly what to expect. It's not like some models out there where they've made a mistake and you end up with something else. I'd like to know what model out there uses a better UI that allows candle mode with a hold of the switch?
