this is exactly what i was looking for to help my daughter! accuracy is critical, so like mentioned, doing this with half circle looks like the way we will be starting off.
Am very happy to following your drills,am Ghana Shock assistant coach ,George told me a lot about his experience learning from you. Thanks soo much for the support.
Omg love you for video! I see a lot of young girls trying to just fire it in there. And I hear their parents yelling for them to also. I was approached by one parent an he asked my opinion and I preach the same accuracy over velocity. Teach them to be accurate first then they can add velo. Love your way of thinking!
My dad was a softball player in his day and he never ever told me to grow it fast when I started to pitch. But when i got stronger i started growing the ball hard and fast ad least 59-62 miles and I'm only 14
Hey Amanda. I COACH LL softball and I'm looking for resources. I like this breakdown of mechanics and how you're working on it just a little at a time. Can you just give me some insight on the drag? We had a former HS pitcher come and work with our girls a bit and said that the drag is all for show. I'm a baseball guy so this part of softball is very foreign to me.
I noticed that a pitcher can be changed even if another one had started a count. And the count remains just as it was for the previous pitcher. But I could have sworn that changing pitchers during an active count used to involve a penalty. Can you explain the old and the new rules. I tried googling it, but no luck.
Everyone will be different! Things to look for are consistency with body positioning & consistent release points. You can tell this if she is being able to throw strikes 80% of the time from these drills!
Could be some mobility issues! I would get screened by a professional to see her strengths/weaknesses/flexibility/mobility and where she is strong and where she is weak!
