The discoloration near the primer is a sealant for the winchester super suppressed rounds. It should help its storage in less than ideal conditions.
@58Alpha
@58Alpha Год назад
That's interesting, it really looked like corrosion and not all the rounds had that. I shot all the ammo up so I can't go back and reference it.

I would say that you’re seeing a higher velocity due to the 5” barrel of the X5 vs many of the manufactures testing with 4-4.5” barrels. Winchester suppressed 147 gr was used with a 4” barrel per their Q&A to obtain velocities.
@58Alpha
@58Alpha Год назад
Ya you're probably right. I didn't go check out all the forums or FAQs, so thanks for the insight on that Winchester!

Coming back to this, the point of this video was to find the best ammo for my competition pistol, the P320 X5, which is a 5" barrel, that's why I didn't select a shorter barreled pistol.

Just bought two boxes of Parabellum research rounds. I see it is a newer company in the business looking for cheaper, cleaner and reliable ammo for practice. I figured I’d buy a few rounds to practice at the range. What’s your take on this brand?
@58Alpha
@58Alpha Год назад
Heck ya, it's my favorite one out of the bunch due to price and best feel in the hand when shooting fast. I've had no issues with the brand and all of their ammo seems to be clean and without defects. May I ask where you got yours from?
@erickrodriguez98
@erickrodriguez98 Год назад
@@58Alpha awesome to see it is working great for you. I bought these at Shoot Smart Range in Benbrook TX. I saw they were going for a nice price per 100 rounds and asked about it. Seems to be a good choice for those new to shooting pistols. The reason I asked was because I was there first to purchase brands like Magtech or federal but they were out of stock at the moment, so I wanted to know if PBR ammo was a good choice overall.
@58Alpha
@58Alpha Год назад
@@erickrodriguez98oh definitely, they're a great ammo. I use the 147gr for competition for it's light load and light recoil.

Where did you purchase the Parabellum Research? I looked everywhere could not find it for sale. I’m in Nevada. I purchased the Defender ammo since that was your second favorite. Great video Thank You

If you like Defender, check out my newest video on their 147gr PRO SERIES for competition, it seems actually even better ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZT3VQumpgMw.html I guess unfortunately, it's really hard to find the Parabellum Research Ammo. I bought a couple thousand of it so haven't needed to buy more lately. Their website shows out of stock and in their listing for the 147gr it says: "We are not making sales through our website and our product is only available through shooting ranges we serve in Texas. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to resuming website sales." Ugh, so that sucks. And their Facebook doesn't have any recent updates either. I got mine from a website called Green Country Ammo at the time, but I couldn't really find it there anymore either. So right now, I will go with the Defender Pro Series based on what I noticed in my review video of it. Maybe I need to make a quick RU-vid video of the PBR ammo and try to get them to go back to selling online since I did like their ammo at the price I paid at Green Country Ammo.

check out NC shooter supply...they load blue bullets for minor PF...i average 130PF out of my p320 and about 128 out of my G17, i buy 2-3k at a time and havent had a malfunction yet.

Can you tell me about the recoil or how it feels when shooting?
@Six_One_Six

@@58Alpha Its noticeably softer than ELEY 147's or Federals Syntech 150's, both of which are "certified ammo". To me, the federal stuff feels like blazer brass 124's and blazer costs half as much for a case. I hand load with those "blue bullets" when i have time and can vouch that they are more consistent in size and weight than most of the jacketed ones are, and that they dont foul at all. NCS also chamber checks (probably case gauge) every last round after they load it. Go halfs on a half case with a buddy and see how yall like it. In my g17 i run a 15 pound spring and in the P320 i run 14 pound.
@Six_One_Six
@Six_One_Six Месяц назад
@@58Alpha Honestly, if you want factory loaded ammo, search for 9mm minor ammo specifically...i like the NCS but i've used all the funky ones out there too like Jello shots and all that...they all work, and they all feel better than Syntech (to me) lol...but yeah the NCS stuff for 9mm minor is cheap enough to train with at 300-ish a case
@58Alpha
@58Alpha Месяц назад
@@Six_One_Six ya I agree, syntech doesn't even feel that special to me and I don't shoot better with it. I'll check out NCS though.
@Six_One_Six
@Six_One_Six 29 дней назад
@@58Alpha i mean, i give up 8 random rounds so they can chrono and i've never had to worry about it. I think people just use the certified ammo because its easy...but when you're trying to get tenths of a second here or there, consistency is the key...and atleast in my hands the blue bullets from NCS offer me that. If the rounds are light and consistent and you've got the gun as heavy as it can be, and you've got it sprung so it returns without dipping, the rest is just training yourself.

Fenix ammuntion 147gr is the softest recoiling ammo I've ever shot and its not even close. I dare someone to give me one that shoots softer. I'll try it and tell you I'm wrong. But I doubt it
@58Alpha
@58Alpha 3 месяца назад
I would have to try it, and I'll take ya up on the dare :) but there's some follow up videos I've done with some softer shooting ammo like the Defender 147gr PRO Series (not the one in this video.) skip to the data if you wanna check it out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZT3VQumpgMw.html All this discussion depends also on what firearm we're using and the different set ups like recoil springs etc.

Great video Sir, thank you! I did notice that the federal 150 is “snappy” in my X5 when compared to shooting it in my Gen 5 G34. Not sure why there is a difference though. Have you reviewed Badlands Jello Shots?

150gr syntech? That's what i hear is low recoil and clean
@58Alpha
@58Alpha 5 месяцев назад
That's what I hear too, although it is clean, I do seem to have better results for lower recoil with other ammunition. For example, now I discovered that Defender has even more lower recoil than the ones in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZT3VQumpgMw.htmlsi=KD4gowNhWRixhd5J It's their Pro Series 147gr ammo for competition.
