SOG Aegis FL - Where Has This One Been Hiding???

I have said some not so flattering things about SOG knives in the past and I wholeheartedly stand by what I've said! Never really found a SOG knife that thrilled me until the Terminus XR came along.
Well...I have found a non-XR SOG that I have some pretty decent things to say about! The Aegis FL is not fancy in any sort of way, shape or form but when you compare the materials and price of this knife...the value in it makes itself abundantly clear!

Best $10 I've spent in a long time. Mine came in mid week and it went right into pocket. I really like it. It may replace my old Cyro as my yard work user.

Really like this one. A work buddy has the assisted version and I've sharpened for him a couple of times. I really like the design but don't like the blade play on that version. I seen these frame locks with the thumb studs for like $10 at SMKW a couple of weeks ago and I'm kicking myself for not getting a couple for me and my son. Great video brother. Thanks for sharing and stay well my friend.

Had a frn sog aegis years ago and really liked it. Ended up misplacing it and to this day am disappointed about it. Very nice knife was incredibly lightweight. Mine was idk $70 back when i got it so it was one of my most expensive knives to that point.

Action “Isn’t too bad.” Eh, don’t expect miracles with low budget knives but the thumb studs being out of the cutting path is certainly nice and I do personally like full metal construction depending on my use for a particular folder. I have to say that my tastes or rather preferences have changed quite a bit so when going for a low budget knife I first look at Kershaw and then go on down my list of brands I love for lower pricing. I Wait, what?! Ten freaking dollars?! Wow, I must say that is shockingly amazing so cheers to smokey mountain! Honestly I still rather spend $30 which is my comfort level to start at when going for a budget. I just find that the thirty really gets you a true bang for buck and not at all but most of what is offered below $30 tends to leave me thinking of what could have been. As always great review, glad you put this one out. Congrats on the new deck! Though my center vision is low I am sure the view out there while the sun is fading is beautiful. I enjoy the sky greyish with hints of blue and all. I am still able to see the colors of sunsets so I am fortunate though details for everything else is a blur. I find it a great time with what’s going on that we all count our blessings whenever we can. Helps especially dealing with such stressful times. ☯️

As super inexpensive folders go, this is a very good one. It's impressive what you can get these days for under 15 bucks.

Absolutely. For 10 bucks if it opens and cuts it is worth it. Seemed fairly easy to deploy and wasn't drpp shutty by any means but not bad. Have to look at this one.

Nice video. I just got mine in the mail as a package of 5 for $30, it came with the one I wanted a Twitch 1. The previous owner removed the thumb stud, so will try and replace it. Take Care, Daniel

Yo JB I bought one of them a couple years back at Walmart for 20 bucks and I thought that was a deal....... wow 10 bucks are you kiddin me!!!!!!! Super cool thanks brother!!!!! And when your deck is done you have to have a big deck party with all the knife guys!!!!!!! Lol

Just got mine today. Put a dab of oil on the pivot & loosened the pivot about 1/12 a turn, & it's smooth as silk. And sharp! I stropped it up & it's every bit as sharp as my factory Benchmades, no joke. Now, that edge won't last nearly as long, but it was *$10*! ($15 shipped) That's a ridiculously good value, I don't care who you are.

Thanks to you another 50 bucks spent at SMKW. Solid steel knife basically for free ($10.00). Comparable to the Kershaw discus minus the cheesy plastic scales. The other 40 bucks was spent on three Rough Riders and they are all too cool also.

I own the black, GFN handle, spring assisted one which is also AUS 8 steel and it is currently out of stock at BladeHQ but the price for it is $75. Mine has an advantage of being 2 oz. lighter. But at this price, I am very tempted to buy a few just to give away.

I bought this knife haven't came in yet but I think I'll like it I love sog only have a seal pup but it's been through hell and is my most abused knife idk what some people have against sog but I love them I still want the Twitch trident and flash

@@BigRedEDC Probably, I picked some up for $5 last year on clearance. I actually gifted one to a friend who needed a pocket knife. I took it out of the package and gave it a once over beforehand to make sure I wasn't giving him a complete piece of crap and it passed inspection. It's a solid knife if not a little heavy, but a "non-knife guy" isn't going to know the difference. It'll hold up to any regular day to day use just fine.
