I just ordered the 3.4" tanto and the 2.9" tanto as well. I loved my Tac-Xr as it was my daily carry/fidget-fix, until the spring wore out. Going to call the company that I purchased it from to if I can get a replacement spring. Hopefully these auto's are a little more reliable.

XR lock springs broke in 3 weeks on my Terminus. No way to get replacements, get a button lock instead.

Any idea when the drop point version full size will be at dealers? I’ve been unable to locate one .

Is rockwell any higher due to cryo? Or does only the heat treatment affect that? I guess I mean is this d2 any better thst say a kalishnakof in d2? If any one knows I'd appreciate it

I wish you were using a better steel for the blade.

there is something about the lock/release that doesn't feel right on this knife... closing this knife feels very mushy and does not give me confidence in it being fully closed. It's actually pretty easy to inadvertently not FULLY close the blade leaving it just a bump away from flying open on it's own. Also, if you happen to put any closing pressure against the blade while it is already closed, the "lock" (as well as the full release) essentially just free float... This also can very easily lead to accidental deployments in a pocket or bag or whatever... I honestly think I'm returning this knife.

Nooooooo the normal AU Size is just over the german limit of 8.5CM :(

I just received mine as a warranty replacement for my Spec Elite, which broke. In my opinion, this is an unreliable knife. The action is very difficult to operate...like it needs to be worn in. I sprayed the pivot point down with a teflon lubricant and it is a bit better but I wouldn't want to risk my life with this knife. Sadly, the SOG warranty is not up to what I would call, a good warranty since I was sent a 2.9" version whereas my Spec Elite was 3.5" and ran flawlessly. The Spec Elite was a more expensive knife than the TAC -AU so I'm not impressed with the SOG lifetime warranty. This knife will be relegated to a drawer while I consider the Pro-Tech Godson and Piranha Bodyguard.

The 'Compact CA Special' ; WTF? CA reg.'s are a complete JOKE !! Grateful 2B a Wisconsinite(in most arenas).. Still LOVE my HOGUE EXEX-A01 Automatic Folder: 4.0" Drop Point; HARD 2 BEAT that one IMO.

I live in California (for now) and these tiny sub 2" blades are a god damn joke! I like kniferights but they will never come here to help this cause. I will be out of here soon, no reason to join kniferights as long as I am in this shit State.
