He owns the Ballade and Nocturne. He brings out the sincerity in those pieces. The p and pp parts are the best I’ve ever heard, and he does not overdo the quick/ forte parts. His phrasing is very convincing. His playing is not without flaws but beautiful with all those flaws. I feel that his honest style match Chopin perfectly. I hope he gets to the next round.

I like his Ballad No. 1. When I first listened to him play it at the preliminary round, I felt he had a unique interpretation different from what I've listened to so far and the way in which I play it myself. His Ballad No. 1 is something new to me. Moreover, his Nocturne is so touching and has depth in it.
