WHAT IS SOLAR IMPULSE ?
The only airplane of perpetual endurance, able to fly day and night on solar power, without a drop of fuel.
Our challenge is to attempt the First Round-The-World Solar Flight in 2015. A way for Bertrand Piccard, André Borschberg and their team to demonstrate how pioneering spirit, innovation and clean technologies can change the world.

This kind of thinking, commitment and follow through is so critical to mankind's advancement in science and technology. Makes me wonder what upcoming breakthroughs in battery technology and material science might make this ever more practical. I suppose the Wright Bros heard similar comments in their day and we all know how that turned out!

c'est trop beau à voir, à penser qu'il y'a des gens qui se soucient du sort de notre mère nature , je vous tire mon chapeau bas messieurs, je voulais juste savoir si c'est possible, la technologie de stockage d'énergie, est-ce des batteries lithium-ion qu'on trouve dans nos téléphones portables où est ce que c'est quelque chose de plus léger ? merci .
