It works perfectly, you just have to tilt the fountain inside the water to get the air out from the bottom. If air gets trapped, which happens if you juts lay it flat on the surface, operation will be intermitent

I've been using mine in a clean water birdbath and it works great.

I think it was sucking up some of the garbage floating in your pond clogging up the pump.

If you will keep this as a filter you should buy 1-3 more because of the size of your pond or try buying a stronger one. I have a pond my self and I have yet to find a good solar filter this should be good with 3 pumps in it .

You need to separate the solar cell from the pump via a wire extension and point the solar cell directly to the sun and it will work much better .

I received mine yesterday...looks like there’s a pump and a battery on the underside. When there’s insufficient sunlight, it will use more battery, until the battery drains. Otherwise, it charges the battery while the solar cell provides the power to the pump. My bird bath will be delivered today. The only concern is that when the wind blows the water spray off the bath, it will empty the water....time will tell if this is a workable solution for me. Thanks for the video!

That's nice fountain but I wonder if you can build small power storage circuit maybe with a small draining compaster so when sun dips or it floats by some thing blocking it for few minutes than the compactor would keep it going till it pass.

Must get clogged up every five minutes, I'd secure it in one place and make a pot feature so it's sat in clear water free of all the dirt that the little motor won't handle

I have cleaned my solar fountain (3 days old) but It still is not working in bright sunshine. I cannot hear the motor running? Can it burn or short out somehow?

It specifically says on the instructions, not to use in dirty water.

wow..so the shade created by you was enough to keep it from not operating. it looks like it really needs very direct sun then. Even though it worked at the end when you took off the extension, but it also means, it doesn't work with the features and components that it comes with, which means it's not a good product in and of itself.

I went thru it and realized it was not the spout it was the shadow hitting the solar panel as it passes in between each panel it will stop the power.. Find a way to keep it still to make it continuous

The reviews say these pumps are inconsistent and only work for a bit of time. Ugh.

Mine worked for about a week and then just stopped working. I'm leaving in the water to shade the water for the birds.

Should have read comments before I ordered. Mine came without instructions and missing the part that holds the top of the fountain on. Emailed back and forth over 15 times with no help. I would NOT recommend purchasing.

We have one of these in our garden, but it only works properly when it’s in a steady position. Make sure if you’re using any type of pot that’s it’s wide enough so the water level is on par with the pump because any type of shadow will make it stop unfortunately.

You cannot just let it float around...It has to be stabilized with rocks around it but still in the water....sitting on top of the rocks or stones.
