Kudos to you! You are the only reviewer (that I know of) that actually shows the window sticker of the car he is testing. I can't understand why others don't.
Awesome video Jake! How would you say the quality of the momentum trim compares to the entry level German rivals (lesser optioned C300s, A4s, 3 Series etc)? Asking because the lease on my 2016 T5 is coming up. I really want the T6 R Design, but that might be a little too rich for my blood, so I may have to settle for a T5 or T6 momentum with some options. I drove a 2018 C300 recently and liked it but boy do those options add up, even on loaner/demo vehicles. IMO, it would also be nice to drive something different and distinctive that will not be showing up on every street corner (yet). I like the Giulia too, but the residual values on those suck, and I hear mixed reviews about the fit and finish in those, so staying with a Volvo may be my best bet.
I found the door pillars to be incredibly annoying to see over your shoulder while driving. the high waistline makes putting your arm on the sill very difficult so it's hard to have a comfortable position to rest your left arm while steering. The intelligent driving panel behind the rear view mirror really encroaches on visibility. I found it utterly annoying, and never used any of that tech. Car feels like every other midsize cars. If you didn't know better, you would have no idea what brand you were sitting in. Very heavy steering at highway speed. I also found the covered wheel not comfortable. The stitching was very apparent and irritating as it hit right at your findgertips. In the center console, I put my credit card on the storage cover, and it slipped under the lip. I had to go back to the dealer to have it recovered. Apparently it is a very common thing. The seats aren't long enough (I'm 5'11 and long legs) and they don't support to the knees at all. Too bad they don't offer interior lighting other than the extremely white lights. It's not warm looking at night at all.
@UC3lHsBaAZlzEU97QFhjIAvA I just got momentum T6 couple of weeks ago and started seeing assembly issues :( My upper stop light was unglued and hanging, had to use 3M double sided myself to fix... the trim around the back window is not fitted properly with tons of gaps, the left passenger door is not flash with body, aluminum trim is unglued... Thanks for ruining my Volvo experience - this is my 3rd generation of s60 and I wish assembly line would stay in Belgium.
Not on the momentum....notice the blank button when I open the trunk. The other button there just locks the car after you close the trunk if you press it.
Chinese owned (so is my local water company, but the water didn't come from China) Swedish design, manufactured in America (South Carolina). Idk how I feel about the made in America part personally, but Mercedes has done it and no one cried about that. Haters gonna hate 🤷♂️
@@mwb52888 They've made lots of models outside Sweden for us already, ie. Belgium. I'm confident that if they're built in western countries the people that make them are serious about doing the job as they will be trained by Swedes (I hope). Made in China is hard to swallow I mean they do everything so quickly I can't imagine seeing them going around the car with gloves, keen eye, kneeling, standing, repeating. Lots of patience to ensure perfection like we've seen in Gothenburg and Ghent.
So the leather isn't even real for that price. I have a 2010 S80 which they don't even make anymore and it has all leather seats and a 6 cylinder turbo engine. Also is an AWD. I will run my S80 until it dies. I test drove a S60 yesterday and it felt cheap compared to my S80. It also had Continential tires on it which in my opionion are also cheap and bad. My S80 is very heavy which I love because you just feel totally safe in it. The S60 again felt light which I didn't like. Just don't make cars like they used to I guess.
idk why they even offer that as an option. All models had leather standard, then they changed that last year and had fake leather as an option for the XC90, now it's made its way to other models. It costs like $1000 to add leather, who wouldn't do that? Only dealerships will benefit from this because they can use it to push people to way more expensive trim levels (when all they really want is leather). They (dealerships) were doing this last year with the cheaper (ugly) small screen option for the gauges. Literally the only difference was larger wheels and the nice larger screen gauges, all the safety options self driving etc (the most expensive features) were on every model on the lot. Sorry for the rant lol, but yeah, they should not even offer the fake leather option, cloth would be an acceptable alternative just because some people prefer it over leather. But then you'd have people who could save money AND be happy, and that sure ain't gonna happen at any car lot. lol
A very, very greedy Geely Volvo price!! Who's gonna pass a cheaper priced BMW3 Series for this? I'm speaking as a Volvo lover BTW. I don't own an S60 either. This is a lovely car however fundamentally there's nothing totally new over the current S60 except we've a tablet in the console instead of the smaller non touch screen. Skimping on the chrome window surrounds is stingy, we all know chrome looks premium! The exhaust pipes look chintzy with the same back as the ugly S90 and we've lost our trademark Volvo tail lights and shoulder that we've come to associate with Volvo, thankfully the new XC60 and V60 maintain these. I'm not sold on the totally TFT cluster. I think we should have a mixture of classic chronographic analogue along with this, that would be more premium and luxury looking. The steering wheel stalks look more like they're from a Japan/China/Korea car. Nothing here any more luxury or expensive looking to make someone part in a hurry with eg. 2010 upwards S60 if they really like it. Notice how the side view mirrors look like they're ripped off a Mazda (Oriental again) and the Blis signal moved to the outside! For this price I hope Volvo aren't heading to go belly up because there's no $50K or £37,000 big money car here. It pains me to have negative comments about Volvo. I'm thinking their cars were better under Ford, but they were not marketed well. Hardly seen any impacting advertising for them between 2000-2010 so word of mouth was probably the seller.
Glenn McKee if you are really a volvo lover as you saying, you will choose it over any other brand even if the bmw( which i personally hate it as all german cars) and even if its more expensive than any other car.
Sufian Osman I won’t be buying brand new, only used and could be eg. 2017 if I test drove the all new S60 and didn’t like it or feel it met the brand new price tag.
50 Grand for this car...….. and it comes with a FAKE leather interior ?...…...WTF ?!! No thanks. You would have to have rocks in your head to pay that kind of money for plastic covered seats.
