This item was made in 1982 by the Franklin Mint. The problum is, they were sprayed with a clear coat to help make the finish last. However, the clear coat over the 40+ years turned in to an awful dull yellow tint. I decided to take the chance and used a spray can paint remover. After a few hours, the yellow clear coat bubbled off. I used a sponge and soapy water to clean off the metal. After exposing the metal I then used a grit free metal polish to hand shine as best I could, and then used my 2000 rpm speed buffer to fine polish the gun parts and this video shows the finished product. Look even better now then the day it was new.. Total refinishing time took me 7 to 9 hours.. Let me know your thoughts. God Bless and thanks for your interest....
