Soldering is the process of joining any metal parts by a Solder.
Solder is mainly a mixture of two or more metals. This mixture is melted and added to thin metal sheets or wires.
The tool used for soldering is called Soldering Iron.
Mainly metals like tin, lead, antimony, copper, cadmium, zinc, silver, phosphorus are used for making solder.
The solder is mainly divided into two types: Soft solder & Hard solder
Joints made by soft solder open at 450°C; That is, soft solders are used to make joints where the working temperature is below 450°C.
The melting point of hard solder is greater than 450°C; That is, hard solders are solders that melt at temperatures above 450°C.
Soldering iron is mainly of two types: Mechanical soldering iron and Electric soldering iron.
When the core of the soldering iron is triangular and of the same shape as the V letter of English, it is called Hatchet type soldering iron And when the core of soldering iron is square and pyramid shaped, it is called square type soldering iron.
Flux with solder is used while soldering.
Flux is a chemical substance, which can be in the form of powder, paste or liquid.
mainly used flux are hydrochloric acid, zinc chloride, ammonium chloride, olive oil, borax, resin, etc.
Flux does the following:
Prevents the formation of oxides on surfaces to be added by soldering.
Helps to melt solder quickly.
Helps strengthen solder grip.
The surface of the solder reduces stress, allowing the solder to spread over the surface to be added easily.
