I have leather soles, vibram mini lugs, dainite, and cork rubber soles. Dainite are incredible and are never a bad option.

Dainite soles feel about as dense as the soles in Vibram’s outdoor and tactical lines.

which top lift wears away faster ? i have an issue with my heels on the outer parts wearing away, so i would like the one that will last the most

Great segment. Are you able to source Carmina soles? They told me in their NYC store that they make their own. Don’t need them now, just planning for the future. Thanks!
@CobblersPlus
@CobblersPlus 4 года назад
I could check into that. Most everyone with Carmin shoes want the JR leather

Do leather soles last as long as dainite soles ? Thanks.
@CobblersPlus
@CobblersPlus 3 года назад
Usually no unless it’s a JR leather sole

Hey man I have a two part question, have you done any work on nisolo boots? And do you think a mini lug sole would work with a Thursday boot?
@CobblersPlus
@CobblersPlus 4 года назад
I don’t believe I’ve worked on that brand before but may have and just forgotten. And yes a mini lug should work
@davidharris8797
@davidharris8797 4 года назад
Is this a long wearing sole¿
@CobblersPlus
@CobblersPlus 4 года назад
Yes it lasts well but the tread will wear out at some point and most resole again then
@brunonjezic6208

Are the vibram soles oil resistant as 430 mini lugs are? I seem to be not finding studded sole that is made from oil resistant material and vibram is my last hope at this point
@brunonjezic6208
@brunonjezic6208 Год назад
Is non slip same thing as oil resistant?

Hello sir nice work I was wondering because I saw some videos that some people ask to fill the shoes with some kind of rubber foam but not cork can you enlighten us on the subject
@CobblersPlus
@CobblersPlus 4 года назад
So foam is more cushioned than cork but if you think about long term on a shoe cork is much better for support, insulation and breathability. Foam is none of those
@mesharyhd7646
@mesharyhd7646 4 года назад
@@CobblersPlus the new foam sheet has rubber and specs of cork all infused in natural latex foam witch can breathe (gain back its shape) and rebound better than cork i wish i know more this is as far as i know i think not only john lobb is using this sheet also more of the high-end are moving there customer to the new filling.

My biggest concern is ice. In my area we usually get freezing rain before the snow, it is dust on crust. My Vibram works well, but any experience from Danite in ice?
@CobblersPlus
@CobblersPlus 2 года назад
Seems that Vibram does better on ice but the Dainite better in slush and mud

@@CobblersPlus I appreciate the info. I think I'll stick with Vibram that has kept me upright most of the time!

If I buy a sole for a cobbler to use should it be 1/2 size bigger or exactc size?
@czynski3
@czynski3 4 года назад
You should support your local small business by allowing him to buy wholesale through his supplier and selling it retail to the end user. It's just ethically the thing to do because he's just trying to support his family, like you are.
@CobblersPlus
@CobblersPlus 4 года назад
A bigger size is better. If you supply a cobbler with a sole though most of the time there isn’t a discount and is usually best to just let the cobbler use there own. But at the same time I do know there are some cobblers that don’t stock or have the Dainite soles so ask them before you buy the sole
@leq7137
@leq7137 4 года назад
@@CobblersPlus Thanks. The two ive asked dont supply them but will look around for others that might.
@CobblersPlus
@CobblersPlus 4 года назад
Never hurts to ask how those shops feel about you bring your own soles to them. Some are fine with it some hate it but again just keep in mind most wont do any discounts. Let us know if you need any help.

Usually shipping within US isn't that costly, so it may be worth it to ship over to cobblers plus. Allan is a fantastic cobbler and well worth the money

Hey what Eton size sole do you recommend for an extra wide (EEE) 9 Allen Edmonds? It's a Sanford model if that helps.
@CobblersPlus
@CobblersPlus 3 года назад
I would go with a size 10 for that size

@@CobblersPlus thanks just ordered them, local cobbler doesn't carry colored dainite or Eton soles so I ordered some so he can resole them.

Once the soles are attached to the shoe, my feet cannot tell the difference. They both feel fine.

I can feel the knobs on the sole and is uncomfortable under the balls of my left foot.

The Vibram doesn’t work as well in mud and slush because of the softer compound? Every car and motorcycle tire manufacturer would disagree with that statement.
@CobblersPlus
@CobblersPlus 4 года назад
No it doesn’t work as well as the Dainite because the traction doesn’t stick out as much as the Dainite soles but the softer and grippy rubber on the Vibram it greats better on a smooth surface
