As an addition to your words at the end, Jingles, the Museum is always happy to hear from volunteers with any experience/knowledge of the aircraft, as well as cleaners, painters and just general staff. Sure, you don't get paid, but you get to spend all your time amid these wonderful planes.

I'm sure Jingles would love to go there if you pay his air fare :) Been there, nice museum. Refreshingly roomy after all the European museums that cram as many display items into as small a space as possible (mostly because they don't have nearly the space they need nor the budget to move to larger premises, if such can even be attained).

I used to work across the road from Duxford, in the summer we used to get our own private shows when they were practicing for the big events. It was an awesome way to spend a lunch break, lying in the sun watching a F8F, Sabre or Mustang looping overhead! I am planning to go on the 26th also, hope you enjoy the show!

Imagine doing your rudimentary flight/combat training in a Tiger Moth and then a few weeks later you are shoved into the cockpit and in control of a 667kph/345mph/360kts Spitfire , having to dogfight and down Me 109's and Hinkle's , then ending your career flying a Vampire. Astounding.

I take seeing a Spitfire for granted as we have one in our museum in Stoke on Trent. They nearly got rid of it but the city made donations and now it is safe. It is cool though as they have one of the Hispano guns out on display so you can see the whole thing

The de Havilland DH.100 Vampire was a British jet fighter commissioned by the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. Following the Gloster Meteor, it was the second jet fighter to enter service with the RAF. The Vampire served with front line RAF squadrons until 1953 and continued in use as a trainer until 1966, although generally the RAF relegated the Vampire to advanced training roles in the mid-1950s and the type was generally out of RAF service by the end of the decade.

Jingles, I live in a place in Norway and right beside the local airport there is a flight museum. In it are a number of aircraft from the Second World War. As far as I remember there is a catalina, and a number of other WWII planes and motors. They're currently reconstructing a German floatplane that crashed into the fjord during the war. It's in a good condition as well. Also, if you didn't know already they've found a Do217 off the coast of the uk in good condition which they will be repairing

Great video Jingles! That looks like a very interesting museum to visit. The de Havilland Vampire was apparently a fairly common sight at one point where I live, flying low along the River Bann in Northern Ireland. My father also used to work at Langford Lodge in Northern Ireland where Martin-Baker had (still do I believe) their high speed rocket sled which was used for testing the ejector seats.

With no hint of a doubt, you (for me) are the best youtuber yet, you never seize to entertain, I watch all your videos and I love all of them :) And now you are also doing interesting documentaries it makes it all the more watch able. You can see the signs of a brilliant "youtuber" when you take a subject, and not only entertain the people interested in that subject but also introduce new people into it. I suspect among all the comments and your 70K+ subs won't see this, i hope you do! :)

Thanks for putting this online - I live in southampton and to be honest, I thought the place had closed down years ago! Will definitely be making time to go and visit this summer. You should also try to have a wander round Tangmere museum as well - based at the Tangmere airfield, famous for being home base for one D. Bader. similar style to this with lots of planes, including the first UK plane through the sound barrier.

And btw, I highly recommend visiting Yorkshire Air museum. They have Halifax, Spit, Hurricane, BF 109G6! etc. (and a little surprise for you, hint - loooots of wood ;-) ) But the best thing - Its a WW II Halifax air base turned into museum! Awesome video. I've been to this museum a few times and thoroughly enjoyed it. I seem to remember you can ask a member of staff to take you inside the cockpit of the Sandringham. They can only take 3-4 people at a time as its so cramped, and they need accompany you as the only way to get into the cockpit is up a small ladder (see 5:14) Defiantly an experience to remember. On another note, I believe my uncle flew Sea Vixens many years ago but he never speaks about it.
