When Josh first asked us to build him the ultimate 4 door full size Family Truckster, we initially said “NO”! When he showed up with an Escalade, we felt like we didn’t have a choice! There was no way we could pass up building a Caddy on 42” tires, beadlocks, one ton axles, and coil-overs. We quickly got to work with the pile of parts and axles he had already purchased from us! As we had imagined, the ½ ton Escalade chassis was nothing like the ¾ ton trucks. We were forced to custom design and build many parts, such as the frame plates, leaf spring hangers, link mounts, etc. We were lucky that this 2002 was a 2wd, and not all wheel drive. With the help of a 4x4 tail shaft and a 3.8 Atlas transfer case, we were able to do the 4x4 conversion. Here are a list of some of the parts used: 2.5”x12” Fox coil-over shocks, 2.0 Fox air bumps, 1350 CV front driveline, 1410 CV rear driveline, 2005 Ford Superduty Dana 60 front axle, 14 bolt rear axle, 5.38 gears, ARB front locker, PSC Hydro assist steering, WFO Radius arm kit, WFO shock towers, and a WFO HD steering kit. Keep your eyes out for this beast, he plans on going to Moab and the Rubicon trail. It is not a pavement pounder!
