OutdoorsmanDave, the philosophia, who would have thought? ... loved Piwakawaka following you hopping u would disturb insects & the sound of Tui ... and yes, i am inspired ... thanks for the journey. Also glad you had contact with your wife & a ride home ... & of course yr pooch ... haha
Thanks Graeme, if you love bird sound in the bush then you were going to absolutely love my next video due in a week. The most prolific bird sounds ever on a hike and for good reason that secret will be revealed in the video. Lots of bush teaching tips and philosophy in this one too, I just hope that my members are personally growing as a result. I just see so little value in empty calorie entertaining.
Thanks Sam - yeah I’m over empty calorie entertainment videos, life’s too short for that, It’s my hope to either teach people about places, how to camp, personal growth or inspire people to try it THEMSELVES. 👋
Epic walk Dave and another great video. I've just finished my first week back at work after my hip replacement and I'm only doing light duties. Still don't have the balance or stability to be hiking anywhere yet so I'll be doing some strength training one on one with a trainer to strengthen the muscles around my hip joints. My right hip will need replacing before long but I'm getting by on it for now. My first couple of hikes will only be 1.2 and 3kms to places I've been before. I'll just be easing into it. You asked about Easter... didn't do much at all mate, very quiet here. Still eating the Easter chocolate though. Very sorry to hear of your loss too Dave. When I was young I thought 61 was ancient and now... here I am... 62 tomorrow and grateful for many things. Take care mate. 😁
@@OutdoorsmanDave i saw it on facebook when you put a short clip up then i found it on youtube. also you commented that we are lucky in the south to have huts is there no huts in the north island or just not as many? why is this?
Great video Dave and some fantastic inspiration and thought inspiring chats. Your video has helped to quieten the buzzing in my head for a good hour this evening during the only spare time i have in the day. I certainly hope you can find a sponsor to help you out with some new trail shoes.
Big day mate. Lots of time to think and refect. Its always the good ones that go first. Lost my sister at 59 from bowel cancer miss her heaps. No rhyme or reason just her time I guess. Like to think they done enough good to earn a trip to heaven early. Helps to process the loss. Keep up the good work.
Sorry to hear of the loss of your sis, I’m actually going to ask my Dr at my yearly health check up (only time I go to Dr), to get tested for that (family history) next week myself, and the poke up the bum, us men need to talk more of such things.
@OutdoorsmanDave good on you for asking. You are so right us men need to talk about men's health issues more. I am on a colonoscopy shedule every 5yrs and the peace of mind it brings is so worth it. It takes 15mins and the worse thing about it is the prep the day before. So would encourage you to put some pressure on the doc to refer you for the colonoscopy. It's the only real way to be certain everything's alright
I know what you mean about those shoes, I have a pair the same. I brought them about 18 months ago when I decided to get into trail running, ( there're not the best) I have since upgraded to the Asics Gel Fuji Trabuco ( so much better) I have sent you a small $ thanks to help towards some new shoes, Thanks for the inspiring video, love the Nelson area. Cheers.
@@OutdoorsmanDave There're promoted as a "trail shoe" . They are very comfortable and sturdy, so I would say there're suitable for both running and hiking.
