At the end of last year I took myself away for a week of solitude. No devices, no people. Just me, my camera and some books.
We live with so many distractions and so I wanted to strip that all away and spend time with God in prayer and the word. It’s crazy how when you take away the distractions you’ve got no choice but to face yourself and your issues and this was the case. God revealed so much to me during this time. It was a time of intimate connection with Him and a deeper understanding of the greatness of God.
This is what I captured during my time of solitude. I hope that in some way it invokes a sense of the emotion I experienced during my time away. I also wanted to focus on capturing the natural sounds around me, as well as the slowness and stillness of the experience.
I think it’s so important to move away from the distractions of the world as much as we can. Keep the main thing the main thing!
